“Don’t, don’t hold —” Lily struggled to push Aidan Lucas away, falling onto the soft bed beside them, quickly wrapping herself in a blanket.
The blanket stolen from him, Aidan Lucas gazed deeply at her.
He sat up halfway, his naked, strong body clearly defined with firm and beautifully sculpted muscles, exuding a charm that was hard to look away from.
Yet, at that mont, Lily dared not look at him, instinctively wanting to keep her distance.
It wasn’t out of dislike or disgust, but purely out of fear.
Fear that Aidan Lucas’s unguarded actions might harm the baby.
“Lily, what’s wrong?” After hesitating for a few seconds, a slightly hoarse voice finally spoke softly.
No one knew the panic that had flared in Aidan Lucas’s heart just a mont ago.
He had been pushed away by Lily.
He saw the rejection in Lily’s eyes.
He feared that Lily might suddenly tell him.
That she had long known everything, that she knew he was a split personality, and therefore, she hated him!
When Lily heard Aidan Lucas’s question, she belatedly realized she had made a mountain out of a molehill.
What was she doing?
Why was she afraid that Aidan Lucas would hurt the child?
Not to ntion whether his embrace might squeeze the baby, but her attitude alone was clearly off.
This baby, this baby clearly shouldn’t be kept.
If it really were accidentally hard by Aidan Lucas, she could easily pretend she didn’t know about the pregnancy, pretend it was fate that she and the baby were not ant to be.
Moreover, this way, she could let Aidan Lucas know without any guilt, letting soone share this heavy burden of remorse with her.
But, Lily was still Lily.
Despite everything she had been through, deep down she was still a gentle and kind-hearted woman.

This heavy burden, she could bear it alone; there was no need to let more people know and suffer with her.
“It’s nothing, um… sorry, I think I just had a nightmare and didn’t wake up clear-headed.”
Lily released the hand she had held protectively over her belly and obediently leaned towards Aidan Lucas.
She took the initiative to reach for his neck, hugging him and giving him a kiss, “Sorry, did I make you sad? I… I was confused, it wasn’t on purpose.”
Lily’s delicate apology, accompanied by her blinking moist, alluring eyes, made her look both adorable and seductive.
