Mason Scott was genuinely terrified.
From his youth until his old age, the most miserable days he had endured were in the Military Camp.

If he wasn’t fully aware that feigning unconsciousness would provoke Aidan Lucas to inflict even more terrifying punishnt, Mason Scott surely would have passed out from the pain long ago.
