Aidan Lucas then stopped talking and stood up.
One hand slipped behind her neck, and the other under her knees, without an explanation, he simply lifted her up and headed towards the bathroom.

Aidan Lucas didn’t respond; seeing her nestled obediently in his arms, an unusual emotion surfaced in his heart.

“Injuring my woman, even ten of Mason Scott’s lives wouldn’t be enough compensation.”
Chilled by his icy tone and sinister gaze, Lily felt a prickling sensation on her scalp, sensing the ominous presence expanding slowly in his deep black pupils.
