Chapter 1378: Chapter 1375: Bad Dad, Fooling the Two Little Ones into Staring Blankly
Abbie spoke with a voice full of feigned disdain.
David listened, and though surprised, he managed not to doubt her.
That’s just how Abbie was with Lulu, harsh in words but honest in actions.
Clearly, she cared for Lulu more than anyone else and would take the initiative to call Lily for her sake, yet insisted on putting on an air of disdain.
Whose proud and contrary nature did this child inherit, he couldn’t help but wonder.
“Alright, I got it. Your mother and I are on a plane back to B City right now, you take good care of your sister,” David glanced at the ti and said indifferently, “We will arrive this afternoon.”
Originally, Lily was worried about Skye’s condition and planned to visit the Wellington family before returning to the Lucas family to see the three children.
Now, it appeared that her plans would need to change.
“Then, uncle, you’d better hurry… My patience is limited.”
Abbie played her part right up to hanging up the phone, not forgetting to act disgusted right before disconnecting.
When the call ended, Abbie turned to look at Aidan Lucas, who was holding Lulu.
“Old man, you’re in trouble now, my Uncle David is coming…” Abbie knew better than anyone how much Uncle David doted on her mother.
Lulu finally managed to speak and gasped, “Uncle David is coming too? It’s all over… Stinky Abbie, you troublemaker, you even dared to lie to Uncle David!”
“Whimper, Lulu will definitely get spanked by Uncle David… Sob, Lulu is most afraid of Uncle David’s spankings.”
Aidan frowned upon hearing the na David, as the image of David flashed in his mind.
The man who had once competed with him for Lily’s affection and, upon learning of his identity as Lily’s cousin, had been given a hard ti by Aidan himself.
Aidan rembered how David liked to be close to Ben, but he found various excuses to stop them and even forbid them from seeing each other.
“David, he’s really your uncle?” Aidan’s eyes deepened, imdiately on high alert.
“Uncle David is mother’s own brother, full sibling,” Abbie said, her bright blue eyes gleaming with schadenfreude.
Humph, the old man might be pitiable, but how could he not be punished after upsetting Mom?
It was best that Uncle David was coming; Uncle David was always protective of Mom and would not let the old man off easily.
Abbie was pondering this when she caught a glimpse of a forlorn look passing through Aidan’s deep black pupils.
“Lulu, Abbie…” Aidan looked at the two children, his eyes filled with sorrow.
“If your uncle is coming, then Dad better leave now. Your uncle… sigh, never mind…” Aidan finished speaking and made to get up.
“Daddy can’t leave!” Little Lulu’s chubby hands suddenly grabbed onto Aidan’s arm.
“Where is Daddy going? Doesn’t Daddy want Lulu and Abbie anymore?!” she said, her little face becoming tear-filled again.
“How could that be? Dad will always be your dad, how could I possibly not want you. It’s just that…” Aidan stopped short of finishing his sentence.
Abbie, unable to watch this scene, complained, “You told us to help charm Mom back, and now she’s about to arrive, why do you want to leave? Old… Dad, you can’t do this!”
Although she wished to see the old man punished, Abbie found herself feeling heartache at his lancholic expression.
“Be good, kids. Dad knows you’re good children. Dad isn’t leaving on purpose, it’s just… your uncle and Dad had so personal grudges before, and with Dad here, your uncle would be unhappy.”
Aidan got to his feet once more, and this ti, not just Lulu but also Abbie grabbed him.
“What grudges can’t be cleared up? You’re our dad, you’re not allowed to leave!” Although rebellious at tis, Little Abbie was extrely fond of Aidan Lucas, her father.
Uncle David was also one of her most beloved people.
They were all family, and she didn’t want to see her dad and Uncle David at odds.
