Aidan Lucas’s tone sounded hopelessly despondent as if all hope was lost.
“Daddy…” Lulu quietly grasped Aidan Lucas’s hand.
Dad, don’t give up, please don’t give up.
Lulu had only just gotten her Dad, she wanted to be with her Dad, Mom, and her two brothers.
“It’s okay, Daddy.” Aidan Lucas bowed his head and gently touched Lulu’s cheek.
Aidan Lucas looked up again.
His gaze passed over David’s shoulder, he couldn’t see Lily, but his eyes were full of regrets.
“Lily.” Aidan Lucas spoke to the unseen figure, “Your brother is right, I truly don’t deserve you anymore…”
Aidan Lucas’s dark almond-shaped eyes were deep like deathly stillness at that mont.
He seed to have given up all hope.
He lowered his eyelids, seeing the cyan brocade box in his hand, and suddenly revealed a rueful smile.
“Lily, I promise I won’t disturb you anymore… this is my last gift, please… accept it…”
David was about to refuse, but Abbie suddenly grabbed the cyan brocade box from Aidan Lucas’s hand.
“Dad, let give it to Mom.”
Abbie saw his uncle’s dislike for the old man, but he thought the old man was so pitiful.
He loved Mom so much, yet uncle was opposing him.
Because of his uncle’s opposition, he was even being forced to give up now.
Although Abbie still had a ‘big move’ prepared to help the old man, it was too far to quench a nearby fire, seeing Aidan Lucas’s despondent sadness, he resolutely took the brocade box from his hands.
