Chapter 1403: Chapter 1400: Ben Lucas, You’ve Been Tricked!
David Redington, though severely “mocked” by Aidan Lucas,
eventually conceded defeat in the face of Ben Lucas’s “shining” gaze.
Up until this point, David had truly experienced what it ant to be “father and son soldiers in battle.”
Ah, how he wished to have a son just like Ben Lucas.
At least next ti he argued with Aidan Lucas, there would be a little one to back him up.
Because David had relented, Lily and Aidan Lucas were thoroughly reconciled.
And tonight, though Aidan Lucas kept his promise to David and did not share a bed with Lily,
for the first ti, little Ben was rarely taken away by his father to share a bed for a true father-son sleepover.
That evening.
“I don’t want to sleep with you, I want Mommy!”
Ben, forcibly taken by Aidan Lucas and made to take a bath, sat on the big bed in his pajamas, sternly protesting.
Why did Abbie and Lulu get to sleep with Mommy tonight, when he had finally co back, only to be taken to the bedroom by the old man?
Aidan Lucas, who had just “enjoyed” the first exceptionally “joyful” father-son bath of his life with his son, approached the bed wearing a loose bathrobe, with a stern look on his face.
Only when he saw Ben did the coldness on his face slightly fade.
If it weren’t for the fact that he lacked a wife to hold and he wanted to build a good parent-child relationship, Mr. Lucas, wouldn’t bother playing those boring, childish water-splashing gas in the jacuzzi with a little brat.
“Ben…” Aidan Lucas’s voice was low and husky, carrying a rare tenderness.
“Dad will sleep with you tonight, and tomorrow when Abbie and Lulu co over, you can sleep with Mommy again.”
Due to David’s prohibition against Lily sharing a bed with him, poor Aidan Lucas could only take this opportunity to curry favor with his children.
Intent on making ands to all three children, he took the initiative to suggest to Lily that he should spend more ti playing and sleeping with the kids.
Lily naturally was pleased to hear this, and instructed Aidan Lucas to behave well and mollify David sooner rather than later.
Heaven knows that if it wasn’t for the malice in Aidan Lucas’s mockery, David’s original intention was just to prevent Aidan Lucas from engaging in certain activities with Lily; he wasn’t opposed to them sharing a bed.
But now, the brother-in-law was very angry, and the consequences of that anger were quite serious.
“I don’t want you…” Ben’s face grew longer upon hearing Aidan Lucas’s words, “I want to sleep with Mommy.”
“Old man, I helped you; you can’t go back on your word now.”
Aidan Lucas squatted down, squatting in front of Ben, patting his head as he patiently explained, “How could this be going back on my word… Dad likes Ben, so he wants to sleep with Ben. Dad is trying to bond with Ben, you see?”
Ben gave Aidan Lucas a deep look, then showed disdain, “There are no other people here, you don’t need to pretend anymore. Those ‘affectionate father, filial son’ acts, they don’t suit us.”
This was always how he spoke with Aidan Lucas.
The old man never treated him like a naive, easy-to-fool child, nor did he ever regard the old man as a formidable, respectable father.
Aidan Lucas of course knew how the original Ben Lucas used to interact with him.
He laughed a little, not angered by Ben’s offensive words, but instead drew Ben’s little body close, hugging him into his arms.
“Alright, we won’t play out the affectionate father, filial son act. But think about it, both Abbie and Lulu are with Mommy, and Uncle David won’t let Daddy sleep with Mommy. Now, Daddy is all alone, isn’t that sad?”
Mr. Lucas was soone who could see through his opponent with just a glance.
The reason little Jordan Lancaster had frequently sparred with Aidan Lucas in the past was that the forr Mr. Lucas was straightforward in character.
But now standing in front of Ben was another Aidan Lucas, cunning and deep.
“You… sad?” Ben didn’t believe it, “When you were alone in the past, you never said you were sad.”
“Heh, yes.” Aidan Lucas’s lips curled, the corners tinged with a hint of bitterness.
“Before, I had never experienced the warmth of a family, so being alone was fine… but after experiencing it. Ah, let’s forget it… I won’t force you to stay here with , if you miss your Mommy go to her then. You’re right, I’ve slept alone before.”
