“Hannah Coldwell… who is she?”
Over the phone, Richard Coldwell’s voice, cold as ice, drifted through.
“She claims she’s your sister, Marshal Coldwell’s daughter.” Lily wasn’t sure if the indifference Richard showed was real or feigned.
After all, Marshal Coldwell had already sent soone to rescue her.
The air over the phone turned quiet for a few seconds, then Richard’s voice, icy as frost, rang out again.
“Oh, her.”
Richard rembered—Lily Redington had specifically called him before to ask about his woman.
“Last ti I told you, you can deal with anyone posing as a Coldwell. As for our Coldwell family, we absolutely do not acknowledge them. So, you hesitated and didn’t act?”
“I…” Lily paused, choked up by Richard’s question.
In the end, it seed as if she was being accused by Richard.
“I was trying to extract information from her at the ti, so I didn’t act.”
In fact, besides this reason, there were two other reasons why she hadn’t dealt harshly with Hannah Ford.
First, although much tougher than before, Lily still could not bring herself to kill at will.

Hearing Lily’s response, Richard’s voice ca through the phone, not quite approving, “Won’s hearts aren’t tough enough, Miss Redington, you wasted an opportunity.”
Lily’s face flushed; she knew Richard was right.
She indeed had wasted an opportunity.
Her heart was too soft, even not tough enough to deal decisively with soone like Hannah Ford, or else today’s circumstance wouldn’t have arisen.
Lily pursed her lips, “Mr. Coldwell is right, I will rember Mr. Coldwell’s reminder. But what exactly is happening now, Mr. Coldwell, you better give an explanation. You clearly told this woman was not a Coldwell, why then is Marshal Coldwell sending soone to rescue her?”
“Don’t ask , I’m not clear about Charles Coldwell’s affairs,” Richard Coldwell stated coldly.
“My relationship with Charles Coldwell—if you aren’t aware—you could ask your brother. However, based on what I know of him, he wouldn’t truly care about that illegitimate daughter.”
“How is that possible? He sent soone to save her.”
“Huh.” Richard coldly chuckled, “You probably don’t know, Charles Coldwell detests illegitimate children the most.”
“To him, all illegitimate children are no different from maggots. So, don’t worry, let him save her if he wants to. They must have their rationale.”
“But…”
Lily felt it was unbelievable and wanted to ask more, but Richard Coldwell hung up coldly before she could finish.
“Cold…” Lily almost couldn’t breathe due to the anger Richard Coldwell provoked.
David knew without asking how his sister had been treated by her ‘best friend.’
“It’s alright, don’t be upset.” David took the phone from Lily, stroking her back to soothe her.
“Richard is like that—speaks little and dislikes trouble. Next ti I see him, I’ll reprimand him on your behalf, don’t be upset, be good.”
“Never mind, I’m used to it.” Lily sighed, shaking off the displeasure.
Almost every out of nine tis dealing with Richard Coldwell, she was infuriated by his frigid actions.
She wondered how Erina, such an adorable sweetheart, could tolerate this big block of ice.
“But Dave, Richard said Marshal Coldwell loathes illegitimate children the most and wouldn’t possibly like Hannah Ford. So what’s going on now, why is he sending soone to rescue Hannah Ford?”
David frowned slightly, pondering Lily’s words.
He knew more about the Coldwell’s matters than outsiders, having a faint inclination in his mind, yet not daring to confirm it just yet.
At that mont, the interrogation room door opened.
Hannah Ford and the nearly disfigured Vivian Walters erged from the interrogation room, accompanied by a lawyer and soone resembling a military officer.
Upon seeing Lily, Hannah Ford slightly lifted her chin, looking at Lily with a defiant glare.
