Chapter 1696: Chapter 1699: Finding Ross Bright (Additional Update 3)
Aidan Lucas’s embrace was too warm.
Lily was cradled by him, her hair being lazily smoothed. Without realizing it, she had closed her eyes.
“Honey, wake up…” The man’s magnetic and lazy voice stirred her awake.
She opened her sleepy eyes, lifting her gaze. Her clear, almond-shaped eyes glimred with a captivating radiance.
“What’s wrong… did you discover sothing?” She clearly hadn’t fully awoken, her alluring gaze dazed and innocent.
It made one want to pull her fiercely into their arms.
Aidan Lucas suppressed the fiery desire bubbling within him.
The struggles of holding this enchanting and irresistible woman every night while forcibly restraining his inner cravings were excruciating for him.
“Ahem…” The man cleared his throat, deliberately ignoring the sweet scent in the air.
He spoke lowly: “Lily, look at this.”
Mr. Lucas pointed at the docunts, “This na, have you heard of it?”
Lily remained oblivious to the desires she had stirred in Aidan Lucas.
She steadied herself on his shoulder and rose from his lap.
“Let take a look…”
Lily shifted on his lap, turning around to take the docunts from his hand. As her eyes caught sight of the na “Robbie Bright,” she suddenly felt herself sitting on sothing.
“Aidan Lucas, you… what are you thinking!” Lily tried to get off his lap, both embarrassed and angry.
Mr. Lucas’s large hand reached out effortlessly and pulled her back.
He wrapped his arms around the unruly woman tightly from behind.
Aidan Lucas exhaled near her delicate earlobe, “Don’t run. If you run away, Mr. Lucas will lose face.”
Lily lifted her head, instantly understanding his aning.
The suite was filled with subordinates pretending to be busy, but their eyes kept sneaking glances in their direction.
If she left now, Aidan Lucas’s unntionable problem below would definitely be exposed.
“You…” Her face flushed crimson, Lily shuffled uncomfortably, “You… stop thinking nonsense, calm down…”
The man chuckled under his breath.
The deep, magnetic laughter carried a husky, flirtatious tone.
“Honey, if you keep squirming, we might not make it out of here today.”
“You… you’re so improper. We’re adults, and you’re still joking like this. I’m ignoring you…”
Lily held onto the docunts, focusing on them intentionally as she ignored the man’s heated breath behind her.
After staring at them for a long ti, her mind was still in disarray. The na Aidan Lucas pointed out to her didn’t seem particularly strange.
“Robbie Bright” couldn’t possibly be “Ross Bright,” could it?
But the surveillance logs indicated that the na had been ntioned three tis, all by Theodore Lucas rather than Tara Hammond.
If Robbie Bright was truly Ross Bright, it wouldn’t make sense for Theodore Lucas to repeatedly bring up a man who might have betrayed him.
Aidan Lucas noticed Lily’s distracted deanor. Without keeping her in suspense, he pointed to the na “Robbie Bright” with his slender fingers.
“This na shouldn’t be Robbie Bright; it should be Robbie Bright.”
Mr. Lucas wrote the na “Robbie Bright” in her palm.
“It’s not surprising that your subordinates overseas wouldn’t recognize this na. While ‘Robbie Bright’ is inconspicuous in A City, he holds significant status in B City. Simply put, he’s B City’s Underworld King. And his actions are without principle. Smuggling, drug trafficking, arms dealing—he does whatever makes money.”
“So, he’s involved in the criminal underworld?”
Lily’s eyes brightened. Ross Bright was a part of the criminal underworld, and so was Robbie Bright.
“Exactly. He controls B City’s dark underbelly. I’m having soone dig into Robbie Bright’s background now. I’m quite curious: if Robbie Bright really is Ross Bright from back then, why would Theodore Lucas be so closely associated with him?”
