Skye Brown froze for two seconds, unsure whether to answer the phone.

Obviously, when a child is missing, you have to inform the parent; otherwise, how worried would the child’s family be?

But Skye really didn’t want to pick up Dylan Wellington’s call, didn’t want to hear his voice, and certainly didn’t want that deep, magnetic, and nostalgia-laden voice to ring right next to her ear.

Yes, Skye admitted she was cowardly.

Her outward strength couldn’t mask the sadness of the mories, which is why she’d always strictly avoided thinking about, looking at, or listening to anything related to Dylan Wellington.

Just because she wasn’t sure when she heard news about him again if her long-buried heart would remain untouched.

The call didn’t last long.

Perhaps the previous 100 missed calls had already told Dylan that no one would pick up, so after a few rings, he hung up.

This ant Skye no longer had to face the dilemma of whether to answer the call or not.

"Phew..." She exhaled softly, feeling that the weight pressing on her heart had finally been lifted.

Avoiding conversation with Dylan Wellington was for the best... She really didn’t want anything more to do with that man.

Putting her cell phone away, Skye had no choice but to go to her wardrobe and pull out pajamas for Molly Wellington.

Without a size suitable for children, she could only find her short-sleeved T-shirt and let Molly Wellington wear it as a long-sleeved nightgown.

Wait for baby to wake up—after that, she could have Molly call Dylan Wellington herself to let him know she’s safe.

With this thought, Skye dressed the sweetly sleeping, completely unaware Molly Wellington in ’pajamas’.

This child, who didn’t even make a sound when being turned over and dressed, must have been utterly exhausted today.

After changing her clothes, Skye carefully used a damp towel to wipe Molly Wellington’s face, watching her from the bedside.

Skye herself had also changed into pajamas, turned on the heater, and sat by the bedside watching the sleeping Molly Wellington, her heart unexpectedly warm.

It seed that just watching Molly sleep could nd the cracks left in her spirit, bit by bit.

It was really quite magical... that must be the magic of children.

Skye couldn’t help but think.

At this mont, the doorbell suddenly rang, interrupting the room’s harmonious sweetness.

Skye quickly stood up and headed for the door.

The doorbell chid urgently, one after another.

Skye, afraid of waking Molly, scarcely asked—almost instinctively, she opened the door.

When the door swung open, a striking, sowhat devilish face, carrying a chill and coldness, appeared in front of Skye.

Dylan Wellington!!!

The next second, Skye imdiately tried to close the door.

But the man’s well-defined hand thudded heavily against the door.

"Director Brown—" Dylan growled out a low, cold voice from deep in his throat through clenched teeth.

"Rejecting my advances in public, then turning around and coaxing my daughter to your place. Skye, is this your cat and mouse ga? Ha, guess I underestimated you."

Dylan’s face was ashen, his seductive eyes slightly raised, carrying a deep chill.

Strangely, after being rejected by Skye that day, he almost thought Skye might actually be a woman uninterested in his pursuits, concerned only with work.

Even the perpetually flirtatious and arrogant Mr. Wellington once reflected on his own actions.

He would usually only play emotional gas with won who willingly threw themselves at him, seeking to climb the social ladder.

But with diligent partners who only talked business, regardless of gender, he wouldn’t ss around.

That day on set, when Skye said she only saw him as a ’boss, investor, and partner’, Dylan saw earnestness, not playing hard to get.

So, he chose to believe it.

Though it cost him so face, he didn’t cause further trouble.

However, this cursed woman... when he showed restraint from bothering her, she still managed to cause trouble.

Kidnapping Molly and bringing her to her ho—ha, was this to make him co directly?!

This woman, truly scheming.
