Capítulo 1953: Chapter 1965: Promised to Grow Old Together

“What’s with the sudden tears…” The man’s seductive eyes slightly arched, with a hint of mischief at the corners that was even lighter than before.

Yet it was tinged with a touch of coldness.

He was gentle and considerate, knowing how to comfort a woman when she cried, understanding romance.

But sohow, for reasons unknown, seeing Skye Brown cry, Dylan Wellington instinctively furrowed his brows, a trace of coldness in his eyes, clearly displeased.

Dylan Wellington’s long and clean fingers instinctively lifted, brushing gently against the soft and thin skin beneath Skye Brown’s eyes.

He frowned, the coldness in his eyes deepening, showing his displeasure without the slightest concealnt, even his tone carrying disdain.

Yet his cool fingertips instinctively softened their touch.

One could say he was very gentle and considerate, wiping away the tears from Skye Brown’s eyes.

Skye Brown’s eyelids trembled slightly, startled by Dylan Wellington’s sudden ‘gentleness’.

She leaned back, avoiding him.

But she persisted, speaking in a soft yet slightly raspy voice with uncertainty, “Dylan Wellington… you’re a blockhead… you…”

“Tsk…” Dylan Wellington glanced at Skye Brown displeased.

The seductive eyes, now devoid of any lingering mischief, “Miss Brown, even if you cry, I won’t let you off. If you continue to insult childishly, I will truly get angry.”

Dylan Wellington’s eyes shimred, the inky pupils looking as though they were soaked in cold water, making one feel a chill just by eting his gaze.

And Skye Brown looked at him, gazing deeply at him—even without being threatened by his gaze, she already felt cold as ice.

Chilling to the bone, a frosty chill climbing from her spine to the back of her head.

—-

‘Will you call or won’t you, Skye, you’re not allowed to give your husband nicknas, otherwise I’ll eat you up right now…’

‘In your dreams… it’s not like if I don’t call you, you won’t bully . Hmph, Dylan Wellington is a blockhead… a blockhead… five years, ten years, twenty years… even when you’re old, I’ll still call you that!’

‘Alright, looks like I haven’t tad my little wildcat. Since you like calling a blockhead so much, you can call that for a lifeti. When you’re old and can’t walk anymore, let’s see how you escape then…’

mories are like a movie, those noisy sweet days once filled with love contrast starkly with the man sitting before Skye now, looking at her with an indifference so strange it carries a hint of scrutiny and suspicion.

She sits there, holding his child, shedding tears inexplicably because of a word from him.

While he sits there, beside her, looking so indifferent and detached.

It’s as if, they weren’t just once involved and then parted—Dylan Wellington’s appearance suggests he has long forgotten her.

To Dylan Wellington, Skye Brown holds not even a trace of sentintal value.

Yes, that’s right…

Skye Brown finally understood what that indifferent yet habitually playful look in Dylan Wellington’s eyes represented.

He sees her as a stranger, without love nor hate—

She, Skye Brown, had long beco a passerby in Dylan Wellington’s life.

The sudden realization left Skye breathless.

She thought her hatred for Dylan Wellington ran deeper, thought she had forgotten him more completely, yet she found herself reconnected with this man only a month after returning to the country.

While it was Dylan Wellington, pretended not to rember, claiming to recall nothing.

Even when she insulted him using their once-dearest ‘nickna’, he managed to remain completely unfazed, without a ripple of emotion.

In contrast to her softening stance, Dylan Wellington was truly the heartless one.

He could chat and laugh with her, yet always maintained the coldest distance.

This man’s eyes were cold, his heart was cold, his love—even colder.
