How could Mrs. Johnson know that Mr. Stephenson was playing a little trick, intentionally saying sothing ambiguous.
Dylan Wellington indeed slept by himself.
Because of his ridiculous ’Mistress Theory,’ claiming that a ’Mistress’ cannot sleep with the ’Sponsor.’
So, in these recent nights, every ti after doing such things with Skye Brown, he would leave the room and return to another master bedroom to sleep.
But the ridiculous thing is, except for the first night when Mr. Wellington truly left imdiately after doing such things at night,
Every other night, Mr. Wellington would dawdle until almost dawn before coming out of Skye’s room.
Especially towards the later nights, the longer he lingered in Skye’s room.
The night before he went on a business trip, which was just this morning before he left,
He was still in the bedroom asking Skye for several rounds before putting on his clothes and leaving.
Saying he slept alone, he had actually completely slept in Skye’s room.
At most, in the morning just before heading out, he returned to his own bedroom to change clothes.
"Mr. Stephenson, are you free now? I have sothing I’d like to discuss with you."
Just as Mrs. Johnson was furrowing her brows, bewildered and perplexed.
A low, cautious voice suddenly called from outside the living room door.
She squinted towards the doorway, seeing that it was just an elderly servant.
Mrs. Johnson didn’t make much of it, waving Mr. Stephenson off: "Go ahead if you need to, I want to be alone for a while."
She needed to think carefully about what Skye had said, what exactly was going on... Could it all be lies, just to trick her?
Mr. Stephenson, not having seen Mrs. Johnson for a long ti, was just about to share a little grievance in her presence and perhaps say so bad things about Skye Brown.
Unexpectedly interrupted by an elderly servant, he instantly felt uncomfortable inside.
Not daring to do anything in front of Mrs. Johnson, he complied and backed away with lowered eyes.
Reaching the living room door, about to leave, he lowered his voice unhappily questioning the elderly servant: "What is it?"
The elderly servant raised her brows, it was clearly Aunt Collins.
Aunt Collins nodded respectfully to Mr. Stephenson, but purposely raised her voice: "Mr. Stephenson, here’s the thing, the sheets in the upstairs rooms aren’t enough, and our laundry room can’t supply any clean sheets, so I ca to ask if you can have a batch of new sheets custom made and sent over quickly."
"Not enough, how could that be? Even for guest rooms in the Wellington family, every room is specially stocked with three sets of spare bedding. Also... Mrs. Johnson is inside, why are you shouting so loud, aren’t you afraid of disturbing Madam?"
Mr. Stephenson had been demoted by Dylan Wellington recently.
He wasn’t allowed on the second floor at all, so he had no idea how ’intense’ the situation upstairs was.
Aunt Collins bowed her head submissively, quickly explaining: "The guest room sheets are sufficient, but they’re not enough for the Young Lady’s room. Young Master sleeps in the Young Lady’s room every night, so the sheets never stay clean. Even though we have a laundry room and can dry clean them, with this much fuss every day, we have to change the sheets at least once a day. It’s not just getting dirty, it’s frequently tearing, and unless we buy new ones, we might not keep up!"
Mr. Stephenson didn’t expect Aunt Collins to say such things, and he didn’t expect her voice to not only not be quiet but even louder than before.
He scolded sharply: "You... you’re still so loud, didn’t I tell you to lower your voice..."
But before he could finish, Mrs. Johnson’s anxious voice ca from the living room.
"Mr. Stephenson, who’s talking outside... I heard sothing about sheets being dirty and not enough? Quickly, let her in, what exactly is going on, tell clearly!"
Mr. Stephenson’s haughty head drooped down instantly.
