When Winona Wallace was still a popular actress in the entertainnt circle, she was known for her outstanding looks, graceful figure, and elegant deanor.
But now, seeing the woman walking from a distance, Bruce Wallace had a mont of reluctance to recognize her.
Just by looking at her figure, it was indeed his daughter, Winona Wallace.
Yet, her appearance, attire, and entire aura seed like she was a different person.
"That’s... that’s Winona..." Bruce Wallace couldn’t help but stand up, looking at Winona Wallace walking with an elderly lady dressed in a dark suit.
"How did Winona beco like that..."
Bruce Wallace paused, his brows and eyes filled with pain, disregarding Mrs. Wallace’s reminder, directly heading towards the guests.
At this mont, Mrs. Nelson was chatting with Duke Redington and Mrs. Lucas, Lily Redington, outside.
Mrs. Nelson’s face was stern, the corners of her lips downturned, even when speaking with Duke Redington and Lily, she appeared displeased.
Of course, she had no opinion of the Reddington family and Lucas family; it was known in the circle that Lady Nelson was stern and rigid, naturally a person who rarely smiles.
"Congratulations, Duke, Mrs. Lucas... My old man specifically asked to pass on a ssage to Mrs. Lucas, that once he’s in better health, he’ll personally co to discuss unfinished cooperation matters with Mr. Cooper."
Lily smiled, "Mr. Nelson is too kind, how could we trouble him, my husband and I should be the ones visiting him. Let Mr. Nelson rest well, we’ll visit him soon."
Mrs. Nelson nodded, "Mrs. Lucas, so young yet so sensible, managing everything in perfect order, truly a blessing for Mr. Cooper. Unlike us, the grandchildren always cause worries, still unable to settle down. And my second child..."
"Alas..." At this point, Mrs. Nelson sighed, turning to look at Winona Wallace beside her, who kept her head down, not daring to lift her face.
"Second daughter-in-law, standing there in a daze, hurry up and congratulate Duke and Mrs. Lucas. The etiquette taught at ho, how can you forget as soon as you’re out?"
"Yes, mother-in-law." Winona’s voice seed different, hoarse and unpleasant, almost startling Lily Redington.
She timidly stepped forward, hands clasped, bowed her head to give Lily and Duke Redington a standard ninety-degree bow, "Congratulations, Mrs. Lucas, Duke."
Finished, she didn’t lift her head, kept it low, back bent at ninety degrees, perfectly executing the bow.
Glancing at the perfectly posed Winona, Mrs. Nelson didn’t raise an eyelid, her stern face addressing Lily, "This is to thank Mr. Cooper and Mrs. Lucas for their care for our second child. Although this second daughter-in-law has a humble background, a tarnished reputation, and many shortcomings, overall, she’s teachable. My devoted ’guidance’ at ho wasn’t in vain, now she’s brought out without embarrassing our Nelson family."
Saying this, Mrs. Nelson instructed Winona, "Enough, after thanking Mrs. Lucas, lift your head and stand behind."
With those words, Winona straightened her back respectfully, silently retreating.
Throughout, she kept her head down, not daring to speak, resist, or show the slightest dissatisfaction.
She seed to have changed her disposition, no longer showing the imperious deanor of a pampered young lady.
