Lily, hugging her pillow, was so happy she couldn’t fall asleep.

As such, she didn’t dare to disturb Aidan Lucas any further. After sending a ‘Thank you’, and seeing that he didn’t reply, she obediently put away her cell phone and forced herself to fall asleep quickly.
Lying in bed, her lips kept curling into a sweet smile.
She decided that, after going to work tomorrow, she would call Aidan Lucas’s assistant.
Hoping that by then, she would get a job where she could occasionally bump into Aidan Lucas.

Early the next morning, before Lily had the chance to call Aidan Lucas’s assistant, she unexpectedly received a call laden with threats.
The caller was Simon Taylor’s assistant.
Although he didn’t use any offensive language, his tone was utterly arrogant.
“Miss Redington, I’m warning you, you’d better stop opposing Mrs. Taylor. If you don’t know what’s good for you and really anger Mr. Taylor, you won’t be able to withstand the pressure if The Taylors and the Lucas family both co after you,” he said.
“Is that so?”
Lily laughed, “But you see, I have a bad temper and hate being threatened the most. The more you threaten , the less likely I am to let Rowena Gray off the hook. Also, please relay a ssage to Mr. Taylor for —I admire his business acun. However, compared to his investnt foresight, his choice in won is quite poor.”
Having said her piece, Lily hung up the call and imdiately blocked the number.
Huh, she hadn’t expected Simon Taylor to still stand up for Rowena Gray at this point.
She wasn’t surprised that The Taylors could find her cell phone number.
As the plaintiff, the court naturally had her contact information.
What she found unexpected was Simon Taylor’s defense of Rowena Gray.
She had originally thought that, after so many incidents, Simon Taylor knowing about Rowena Gray’s private behavior might disgust him.
But now, not only did Simon Taylor not show any signs of disgust towards Rowena Gray or any intent to divorce her, he even had his subordinate warn her privately.
What did that imply?
It implied that either Simon Taylor was devastatingly in love with Rowena Gray, or he had so reason why he absolutely couldn’t give her up.
