[I second the comnt above. If Doctor Wen doesn’t pull a big move today, I’ll livestream myself eating shit!]

[Hey, to the person above, I rember you! You said you’d livestream eating shit last ti, too. When’s it happening? Can you give us a ti and a link or what?]

[Stop arguing! I just rembered—today’s the Zhongyuan Festival! Oh my god! Doctor Wen is so hardcore!]

[What’s the big deal about the Zhongyuan Festival? It’s just the Ghost Festival, right? Don’t tell you actually think there are ghosts in this world. Ridiculous!]

[To the newbie above, you have to keep watching! Your entire worldview is about to get rocked, but don’t worry, you’re not alone! We’ll all go through it with you!]

[So does that an we’ll get to see... ghosts today? Suddenly, I’m kinda excited!]

"Master, I’m back!" Little White’s voice ca through the livestream. Hearing such a pleasant voice, everyone thought it must be a cute kid.

But to their surprise, what appeared on cara was a fluffy little white ball?

[Wait! Were my ears just ringing?]

[If my ears aren’t playing tricks on , did a voice just say, "Master, I’m back"? And then this little thing shows up?]

[So, putting two and two together, does that an the voice ca from this little thing?]

[What do you an, "little thing"?! You guys need to get your eyes checked, that’s a fox! I can’t believe Doctor Wen is keeping a fox! It’s so cute!]

[Mhm, I totally agree with the comnt above. It’s a super cute, talking fox.]

[A talking... fox? Is the world going crazy?]

[I used to think so too, but then I realized the world is still pretty normal. It’s just that the world inside Doctor Wen’s stream is a little... profoundly mysterious~]

[Could it be that the world we see in Doctor Wen’s stream is the realest one?]

The mont Little White entered, he noticed sothing new above his head.

’Master’s livestreaming again.’ He imdiately shut his mouth.

’This isn’t a world where I can just run wild. If humans found out I could talk, I’d probably be whisked away for dissection and research before 24 hours are up, wouldn’t I?’

Little White clamped his mouth shut. ’Not talking. I’m absolutely not talking anymore!’

[I think you all must have misheard. Look at this fox. It seems to have a bit of Spiritual Energy, but it hasn’t said another word, has it?]

[The voice probably ca from so device on Doctor Wen’s side. A talking fox? That’s just too unbelievable, isn’t it?!]

Wen Ying glanced at the one hundred thousand viewers in her livestream, then turned and walked out of the room.

In the small courtyard, a glance upward revealed a single, lonely star in the night sky.

Wen Ying glanced at the sky, then walked toward the clinic.

The clinic, originally dark, lit up as soon as Wen Ying entered.

But soon, the lights were turned off.

Wen Ying pushed open the clinic door, but while the door opened, she did not walk out.

The street was deathly quiet. There were no figures, no lights, not a single sign of life.

Wen Ying stood there until Little White tugged on her pant leg. She looked down to see him stretching out a paw, pointing in a certain direction.

The direction of the proprietress’s place.

Wen Ying headed out, walking toward the proprietress’s inn.

[Isn’t it unsafe to go out alone this late at night? Isn’t Doctor Wen afraid?]

[Who do you think Doctor Wen is? You think she’d be afraid of this stuff? People who don’t know any better think she’s a psychologist, but we’ve been watching long enough to know the real story. Don’t you get it yet?]

[I’m curious where Doctor Wen is going so late at night. Today’s the Zhongyuan Festival, after all!]

[Let’s be bold! I bet this ti Doctor Wen is going to co face-to-face with *those things*! This place feels weird... it’s giving the creeps.]

[A dark and windy night. One person, one fox, and the Ghost Gate. Doesn’t this have the vibe of a Master Gu Long novel?]

Suddenly, specks of fiery light appeared on the street.

The cara’s night vision mode activated at this mont. People at the scene might not have been able to see clearly, but the viewers in the livestream certainly could.

The picture was high-definition, though the cara had pulled back a bit.

*

Chaochao’s mother was holding a ceramic basin, inside of which were so things she would need.

Qin Hanyun followed behind her.

Qin Hanyun wanted to help Chaochao’s mother carry the basin, but she refused, so he could only follow along as they walked down the street.

Chaochao’s mother recalled Doctor Wen’s words and headed toward the spot where she had previously fainted.

Suddenly, a great wind kicked up. The WHOOSHING sound was crystal clear, even to the viewers of the livestream.

The wind, which had appeared out of nowhere, grew stronger and stronger.

Qin Hanyun, holding a flashlight, moved to shield Chaochao’s mother. "Hold on to and walk slowly," he said. "This wind isn’t normal."

When they had left, they had made sure to bring all the personal items they had purchased from Doctor Wen’s clinic.

[If I’m not mistaken, are those two figures human? One of them is holding a flashlight, right?]

[Sneaking out so late at night... they’re not up to no good, are they?]

[With Doctor Wen around, who could possibly get away with anything bad?]

Despite the howling wind making it difficult, Chaochao’s mother held onto Qin Hanyun’s arm and reached the designated spot.

She began the ritual of burning joss paper.

[WTF! That’s a ritual for honoring the dead, isn’t it? Why are they doing it during *this* festival? Does this family have any common sense?!]

[On the day the Ghost Gate is wide open... Are they trying to get all the other ghosts to fight their loved one for the offerings?]

[Even though I can’t see the Ghost Gate or any ghosts, I can’t help but feel like this is super eerie and terrifying.]

[Where’s Doctor Wen? How co only those two are on cara? Is she invisible again, like last ti?]

Wen Ying stopped a short distance away from Chaochao’s mother. Seeing that the ti was approaching midnight, she stated, "I want to use the guide Skill."

[Guide Skill successfully activated. Host, please sit down where you are.]

As Wen Ying sat down cross-legged, Little White also hunkered down beside her.

’I don’t know what Master is doing, but it can’t be wrong to copy her, right?’

All Little White could see was sothing seemingly floating out of his master’s body.

He leaped up, trying to grab it and stuff it back in, but his paws just passed through empty air.

Feeling helpless, Little White sat back down beside Wen Ying. ’Master is so powerful, nothing bad can happen to her,’ he thought. ’She’s probably just busy working.’

*

Chaochao walked along an endless road. She was surrounded by shadowy soul bodies, much like herself.

The only difference between them was probably their age and appearance.

She felt as though she rembered everything, but when she spoke to the others around her, none of them responded. If she had to describe them in one word, it would be ’numb.’

But Chaochao didn’t know where she was supposed to go.

All she could do was keep walking forward, on and on.

Suddenly, a flash of light streaked across the sky. Chaochao saw the light and began to follow it, heading in a direction that, for so reason, had just appeared in her heart.

As the light drew closer, Chaochao strained to see it. It looked like a small, humanoid creature, floating and drifting right in front of her.

It was guiding her, beckoning her to follow.
