As the woman spoke, she pinched the child’s arm. Hearing this, Yingying hastily nodded. "My aunt is very good to ."

But her voice was low, and even carried a hint of panic.

Zhang Xin sensed it, but his mother pulled him back and gave him a aningful look.

Mrs. Zhang was a savvy and sociable person. After exchanging so pleasantries with the woman, they began addressing each other as sisters.

Zhang Xin looked at the child, who seed to want to leave but didn’t dare, just standing there stiff and constrained.

Zhang Xin walked over, bent down, and asked her, "Did you not go to school today?"

The little girl shook her head but didn’t say a word.

"She’s been sick recently. I asked her teacher for a few days off. She can go back once she’s recovered."

A child of this age would probably be in the fourth grade, buried under endless howork. Usually, even if a child was sick, their family would have them review their lessons and do their howork every day.

But that didn’t seem to be the case here.

"Sister, I’d like to take Yingying to pay respects to her parents. What do you think?"

The aunt was clearly hesitant.

"I promise I’ll bring her back safely. There’s a police station nearby. If you’re worried, I can even file a report with them. What do you say?"

"It’s just that I really haven’t been able to eat or sleep these past few days. I keep dreaming of Xiuhua. In the dreams, Xiuhua is always talking about her daughter. She’s been gone for years now; letting the child pay her respects would fulfill her last wish, don’t you think?"

As she spoke, Mrs. Zhang took out the token that Zhang Xin had received.

The aunt looked at the group photo, one she didn’t even have, and her wariness completely dissolved. "This photo must be many years old. Back then, Yingying was just a little kid who doesn’t rember anything. I was afraid sothing might happen if she found out, so I never took her to pay respects to my brother and sister-in-law. Now that she’s older, it’s about ti she went and kowtowed to them. But I’m a bit busy—my son has a parent-teacher conference this afternoon. I’ll have to trouble you to take her, Sister."

"Yingying, do you want to go with this auntie to pay respects to your parents?" the aunt asked, looking at the girl.

Yingying didn’t dare to speak.

"Why are you being so difficult? Those are your parents. You haven’t gone to kowtow to them in all these years. Now that you have the chance, just go."

"Sister, you don’t need to file a report. I trust you. There’s a security cara outside the door."

But just before Zhang Xin and his mother left with the girl, the aunt spoke to Yingying alone for a while.

Once they were outside, Yingying followed closely behind Mrs. Zhang. Her cautious, timid deanor made Mrs. Zhang’s heart ache.

"Yingying, is your aunt not good to you?" Zhang Xin had barely gotten the words out before his mother smacked him on the back of the head.

"She’s the child’s aunt, how could she possibly be an to her?" she said, giving her son a sharp look.

Yingying glanced up at Zhang Xin but said nothing.

Her gaze, however, was involuntarily drawn to the photograph in his hand.

"Yingying, do you rember this photo?" After asking, Zhang Xin imdiately regretted it. ’What a question to ask.’

Unexpectedly, Yingying answered, "I rember."

This was probably the first ti she had truly spoken to them.

Zhang Xin placed the photo in Yingying’s hand. "If you like it, the photo is yours. But not right now. You can have it after we’ve finished what we need to do."

Yingying nodded.

Mrs. Zhang had already asked soone to find out where Yingying’s parents were buried. It was less than half an hour away by car.

The incident had caused a huge stir back then, so Yingying’s parents had a decent burial plot.

When they arrived, Yingying followed behind them toward the cetery.

Zhang Xin looked at the two photos on the tombstone; they were identical to the ones he had seen before.

The mont Yingying saw the photos on the tombstone, she fell to her knees and burst into tears.

"Papa, Mama, I miss you so much. I really, really miss you."

Perhaps children who aren’t loved and doted on mature earlier. Yingying was clearly more sensible than other children her age.

"Papa, Mama, why didn’t you co get ? I don’t want to live in soone else’s house. WAHHHH. My aunt always scolds and hits . She says there’s no point in girls studying, and that she won’t let continue after high school. My uncle argues with her, but then he just leaves after they fight. It makes so sad."

When the child had cried herself out, Zhang Xin finally spoke. "You rember your dad and mom?"

"I rember. I’ll never forget Papa and Mama as long as I live. Thank you for bringing to see them."

Zhang Xin looked at the tombstone, his voice tense. "Big Sis, Big Bro, I brought your child to you. Can you please stop coming to now? They say the living and the dead should stay separate. I’m afraid if you visit a few more tis, my little life will be forfeit. You wanted to see your daughter, and I brought her. Let’s just call it even and end things here, okay?"

Yingying was young, but her mind was all the more perceptive.

"Big Brother, have you t my papa and mama?" She tilted her head up, looking at Zhang Xin in confusion.

Zhang Xin froze, unsure of how to answer.

"Can you take to them?" Even though she knew her papa and mama were gone, she still asked the question.

Mrs. Zhang felt a pang of sadness as well. The child wasn’t being treated well at her relatives’ ho, but it wasn’t as if she could just take the girl ho with them.

No matter how bad they were, they were family. And she and Zhang Xin were strangers.

"Yingying, don’t listen to his nonsense. If your parents are watching from heaven, they would definitely want you to study hard so that you can be the master of your own life one day."

Often, in the face of the world’s injustices, we are powerless. All one can do is hope the child remains strong.

Zhang Xin, however, looked at his mother. "Mom, I want to ask Doctor Wen to help Yingying."

Mrs. Zhang sighed and said no more.

Zhang Xin took out his phone and sent a ssage to Wen Ying.

A few minutes later, Zhang Xin looked at his mother. "Mom, Doctor Wen says that to resolve this completely, it will cost ten thousand yuan. I wanted to ask about my salary... can you front the ten thousand?"

"You silly boy!"

Mrs. Zhang imdiately transferred ten thousand to her son. As soon as Zhang Xin received it, he transferred it directly to Wen Ying.

Sitting on her beanbag chair, Wen Ying saw the ten thousand yuan arrive in her account. She narrowed her eyes. "Now, how should I go about this?"

[AS LONG AS THE HOST PROVIDES REPUTATION VALUE, THERE IS NOTHING THAT CANNOT BE RESOLVED! THE SYSTEM IS OMNIPOTENT, AS LONG AS YOU CAN PAY THE PRICE!]

’I seem to recall getting a Flying and Earth Drilling Skill from a blind box last ti, right? Today’s the perfect chance to test it out.’

Wen Ying took out the Yellow Paper she had recently drawn, counted out ten sheets, and put them in a plastic bag.

"Use Skill: Flying and Earth Drilling."

Wen Ying finished reciting the words in her mind. A flash of white light passed before her eyes, and the plastic bag and Yellow Paper in front of her vanished.

Zhang Xin remained where he was. "Mom, Doctor Wen said the delivery will arrive very soon. We can wait for it here."

Mrs. Zhang, who had started to believe that Doctor Wen was truly capable, felt a sense of absurdity for the first ti upon hearing his words.

’Where is this Doctor Wen?’

’And where are we?’

’We’re so far apart, and you only just spoke to her, but you’re telling it’s going to arrive imdiately?’

’Is this package arriving by private jet?’

’Ridiculous!’
