Bai Wu always acted very naturally.
Since he had known Wu Jiu, he had almost never deceived him.
So Wu Jiu had no reason to doubt him.
"That said, it seems I only accompanied you. The dangers we encountered were mostly resolved by you," Wu Jiu still felt sowhat guilty.
Bai Wu didn’t oppose those words because the captain was that kind of person. Even if you explained things clearly, he would still feel that he didn’t protect well enough.
Although the scene seen in the Heart of Rules was only one possible future, filled with ample regrets, it was still worth fighting for.
Even if one was never a hero, it was still worth doing.
Just for the sake of the person before him, it was worth it.
"Then let’s et again after we return to reality. Our destination is Denglin City."
Bai Wu knew that Wu Jiu had actually grown stronger. He had earned the recognition of two Sequences, but in the eyes of the Heart of the World and the Heart of Rules...
If the person with multiple specialties wasn’t himself, but the captain, perhaps that would have been better.
They equally admired the captain’s performance. Even though Wu Jiu himself was unaware, he was one of only two people who had experienced the fifth level of the Well World... Surely upon returning to reality, he would undergo an even deeper transformation.
Baichuan City was still caught up in revelry and fear, yearning and reluctance.
Though this was just a world temporarily constructed, for Wu Jiu and Bai Wu, all the people and events they experienced were real.
"We’ve redeed this city; now it’s ti to save our own."
The night sky once again revealed the contents of the doomsday painting, the darkness seed like an ancient stone wall, and the painting was like an ancient mural etched into the night.
Below the mural was the entrance back to reality.
Only after bidding farewell to Wu Jiu and watching him turn to walk into the entrance, did Bai Wu finally let out a long sigh.
When everything vanished, he stood alone in Baichuan City, listening to the cheers and lants bursting from beneath the subway, like a person unrelated to anyone, on the verge of death.
He silently turned around, facing the two massive ink shadows:
"Goodbye, Captain."
...
...
The fourth layer of the Well World. The base of the Inverse Tower.
The mont Wu Jiu returned from the fifth layer, a powerful surge of energy erged within the Inverse Tower.
Zheng Yue, Nie Chongshan, Gu Hailin, the trio of disaster and plague, and Jing Wu the tyrant all felt this fluctuation.
The exploration of Bai Wu and Wu Jiu was actually very brief. Although it seed a long ti to Bai Wu and Wu Jiu, the real ti was extrely short, almost non-existent for reality and the fourth layer.
When Wu Jiu ca back, everyone had already appeared outside the Stele.
"Bai! Wu!"
Jing Wu’s eyes were filled with fury. Jing Wu could feel that Wu Jiu’s aura had changed.
Upon returning to the fourth layer, Wu Jiu had once again beco his Crimson form.
This ti, the feeling Wu Jiu gave Jing Wu... was as if he had ascended to another level.
It even gave him a vague sense of crisis.
A faint sense of crisis did not an the other’s danger was low. On the contrary... for soone like Wu Jiu, a Hidden Edge who could still emit an aura that made one wary, it ant that he had grown incomparably stronger than before.
Jing Wu couldn’t help but speculate that Bai Wu still had a trump card, a way to enhance his strength.
He gritted his teeth, calling Bai Wu’s na as if he had been betrayed by him.
If Bai Wu or Bai Yuan were here, they would certainly find Jing Wu’s anger familiar.
It was like when Vegeta discovered the Hyperbolic Ti Chamber in which Goku secretly trained and then quietly evolved into Super Saiyan 2. Vegeta, still at Super Saiyan 1, learned of it and was outraged, as if he had barely caught up to Bai Wu, only for him to cheat and pull ahead again.
"Where did you go?" Jing Wu demanded of Wu Jiu.
Wu Jiu had no need to explain to Jing Wu, but it was necessary to explain to the others.
After a succinct account, Wu Jiu also ntioned the way back.
Zheng Yue was envious:
"Damn it, if I knew, I would have just slept... Why didn’t you take on such an interesting journey."
Nie Chongshan said:
"There are still many things worth exploring in this place... but it seems we should go back now?"
"The Traction Disc can operate in reverse through the Stele, sending everyone back to where they belong, including you."
Wu Jiu looked at the Tyrant.
As Bai Wu’s Evil Fallen Body, Wu Jiu always felt... that the Tyrant seed to have other missions.
The others will eventually return to the real world to battle Alpha.
But the Tyrant will not.
There are still many secrets in the second and third layers of the Well World.
Indeed, the fifth layer of the Well World holds the most powerful strength, but it does not an that the second and third layers are worthless.
And that world where Bai Wu was born, it’s as if it belonged to a hidden plane within the Well World.
The Tyrant stayed the longest in the fourth layer, even longer than Bai Wu, and knew many Sequence glyphs, which allowed it to understand many things.
Now it indeed needs to go back up to do so tasks.
"Go back? Ha, you don’t really think you still have a chance of winning, do you? This Bai Wu fellow, he will only leave the opportunity to grow stronger for himself. To defeat the Twisted Master, the answer must lie deeper within the Well. I will not go back. I am heading to the fifth layer!"
"Tell , how do I enter the fifth layer?!"
Jing Wu obviously did not want Bai Wu to beco stronger alone, but Wu Jiu could not be bothered with him.
"As you wish. Figure it out yourself. Good luck."
The formidable enemy of the past now seed insignificant to Wu Jiu.
This was an interesting fact; among the different "Wells," Jing Wu was definitely the most diligent, although he was relatively the weakest.
But now Jing Wu has beco stronger, so strong that he could be considered an indispensable strength, but Wu Jiu still felt that this person... was not to be feared.
The monts of glory were too brief, even shorter than a flower’s bloom.
Wu Jiu no longer paid attention to Jing Wu. After telling everyone how to return and setting a simple rendezvous point, Wu Jiu began to return to his original world.
One after another, figures were swallowed by the Stele.
The Inverse Tower seed to turn into the High Tower.
At this mont, Zheng Yue felt as if he was about to set off for the outside of the Tower again.
But this feeling was veiled with a layer of tragic readiness for death.
Zheng Yue actually wasn’t prepared for this.
Wu Jiu, Nie Chongshan, Gu Hailin, and even Jiang Zhu, Li Xin, Liu Bingshu, they all knew very well...
Going to Denglin City might lead to death rather than life. These seemingly powerful individuals were but dust under the mountain when facing an existence like Alpha.
But what else could they do? Apart from going into battle with the mindset of being the straw that breaks the cal’s back, they could only quietly await extinction.
Between these two choices, most people would rather bet on the chance of becoming that straw.
...
...
Denglin City.
Alpha walked on the silent streets of Denglin City; all the Evil Fallen here were in hiding.
This was a massive labyrinth divided by Temporal Power into countless spaces, and under the effect of the tiline, the number was even more exaggerated and terrifying.
High Tower Calendar, year 425.
In this year, Jing Yi and Jing Liu had a brief clash.
In the end, the plans of both were shelved.
Next, Alpha entered the inaugural year of the High Tower Calendar.
In that year, the High Tower was about to close, humankind entered the High Tower Era, and soon the first investigation outside the Tower would begin.
After that, Alpha stepped into ninety years prior, when the High Tower ruler and the forces outside the Tower reached an agreent to clean up the interior of the High Tower. They decided to purge their own experts to show the forces outside that they had no intention of conquest, in exchange for peace.
Alpha was naturally unaware of these matters, yet they truly existed.
During his sealing, humanity had compromised, resisted, fought amongst themselves.
The entire historical process had, in fact, barely advanced.
But it wasn’t that no one was trying, it’s just that those who were had focused all their efforts in one place—
Bai Wu.
So when Bai Wu appeared, the progress of history began to accelerate like a rocket.
Alpha had a feeling that he would eventually confront Bai Wu.
Temporarily unable to unravel the space-ti labyrinth, Alpha was not in the least impatient.
He slowly traversed one area after another, at this rate, he probably wouldn’t solve the maze before the next great explosion of the universe.
But he wasn’t in a rush, slowly pondering the characteristics of Bai Wu.
Bai Wu could kill the Seven Sins without being punished, which ant that Bai Wu most likely ca from the Well World.
Bai Wu was able to possess both word power and Sequence power, yet belonged to humanity and could undergo Evil Fallen Transformation, which showed that his bloodline indeed contained pure human ancestry.
The main point was, how did Bai Wu dodge his killing move?
Alpha rembered clearly, he had indeed seen Bai Wu’s death.
But looking at it now, that was an illusion.
It was a phantasm conjured by spiritual power.
There were two uses for spiritual power, one was to change others, and the other was to change reality.
The two extres corresponding to this were the Psychic Silhouette and the Parasitic Heart Demon.
Alpha guessed that Bai Wu had mastered the Psychic Silhouette.
And Bai Wu had once been to the sixth floor of High Tower, where in that long narrow corridor, Bai Wu had withstood Parasitic Heart Demon.
"Could it be that he also possesses a Parasitic Heart Demon?"
In these days of constantly collecting bodies, Alpha had never stopped to think, who in this era posed the greatest threat to him.
Was it Jing Si?
Was it Jing Liu?
Or soone from the previous era? Or perhaps this group attempting to seal him now?
Now he had an answer, that person was Bai Wu.
For seven hundred years, the efforts of countless people had culminated in Bai Wu.
Bai Wu was indeed the strongest weapon to break the Twisted.
But Alpha could not understand how Bai Wu could possess both powers of the Psychic Silhouette and the Parasitic Heart Demon, two different branches of the ntal power ceiling, and still remain undetected by the Sequence Stele.
That stele should detect the masters of Sequences, the top ten Sequences, except for the Ten Thousand Phantasmal Bodies, were all grey.
This ant... the masters of Psychic Silhouette and Parasitic Heart Demon should be dead.
Even the most powerful being in this world couldn’t understand it.
Of course, he didn’t know that the masters of Psychic Silhouette and Parasitic Heart Demon were indeed two deceased individuals.
And they belonged to Bai Wu’s parents.
If it couldn’t be figured out right away, then it would have to wait. What was most pressing now was to break the space-ti labyrinth before the Spaceti Array solidified, and to beco truly Immortal.
Alpha had already felt it, although separated by countless layers of space-ti, the two things he needed the most were hidden in this city.
Sequence 10, Ten Thousand Phantasmal Bodies.
Sequence 12, Temporal Return.
"To search far and wide, only to find it easily without effort."
Of course, it would still require so effort, Alpha also had to applaud the intricacy of the First Generation’s space-ti labyrinth.
But before absolute power, such a labyrinth was like a finely crafted toy. To think of confining a fierce beast with a toy was naturally preposterous.
He had already walked for an hour, passing through countless areas.
At this mont, Alpha was likely located at the northern corner of the city.
"It’s ti to break your exquisite toy," he said.
Black mist began to release, bit by bit.
Before Bai Wu gave him the na Alpha, everyone called him the Twisted Master.
Because he believed in distortion? He might not be the most fanatical of the Twisters.
But he was definitely the deepest in the comprehension of distortion.
Even during the Well’s dormant phase, he could sense the breath of the Well and beca the first person to enter the Well.
Alpha was the first of the Twisters. His Twisted Realm shared the sa origin as Bai Wu’s, yet he was far more proficient than Bai Wu.
Life and death, cause and effect, space and ti.
All rules could be devoured in the face of pure distortion.
The terrifying black mist quickly spread out from the center where Alpha was.
The Well Domain, which required Bai Wu to overdraft his life force to activate, seed as natural as breathing for Alpha.
Those intersecting golden lines... like the pillars of a cage.
But now, under the distortion of the black mist, these pillars began to bend.
Rules that once required a single step to enter a different space and ti... at this mont, began to blur.
Alpha sensed several key auras, the "parts" he was lacking.
Xu Wei, the Pursuer.
As long as he absorbed them into his Divine Body, his comprehension of the power of order would advance to the next stage.
He had sensed them long ago, but the Space-Ti Labyrinth had kept him sotis close, sotis far, from these people.
Never quite able to touch the other party.
But now it was different; distortion was gradually devouring the "walls" of the Space-Ti Labyrinth.
This ti, there would be no existence that could obstruct Alpha.
Just as Alpha prepared to step across space towards his target’s location—The First Generation appeared.
"Cheating won’t do, will it? You’re the great Twisted Master, and this is how you choose to solve my labyrinth?"
The First remained a Spaceti Form.
Alpha was unwilling to engage in further conversation:
"Disperse."
With the word spoken, a terrifying force burst forth from Alpha’s pupils, focusing on the Spaceti Form of The First.
The next instant... The First’s body began to decay, bit by bit.
But The First didn’t mind:
"If you cheat, I have no choice but to cheat too. Don’t think that no one can handle your Power of the Well. We have an ace up our sleeve."
The First dissipated.
Alpha’s steps all of a sudden ca to a halt.
In the sky above a few abandoned high-rises not far away, a patch of starry sky suddenly appeared.
The intersecting golden lines re-erged.
The Space-Ti Labyrinth, which was damaged by distortion, actually backfired against the distortion, repairing the labyrinth.
"Inverse Well."
Alpha furrowed his brows, recognizing the figure.
If Bai Wu was a potential opponent, a seed, then Jing Si was a towering tree.
"It’s ti for us to have a final confrontation. Twisted Master."
Under the starry sky, Jing Si stood bare-chested, his hair moving without wind, like a deity.
(Tomorrow there might probably possibly perhaps should be a big update, a ten thousand-word update, but I’m not sure; it’s just one of these two days.)
