Regarding matters of the heart, Wu Jiu, like Bai Wu, was rather slow on the uptake, but observant of his surroundings.

Just like Bai Wu knew that the tall woman had a crush on Wu Jiu, Wu Jiu also guessed that Miss Yan seed to like Bai Wu.

Since he could connect with Yan Jiu with half a heart, he was already clear that probably so of the words Bai Wu said on the plane moved this girl.

But Bai Wu was definitely making it all up.

"You don’t have a boyfriend. That’s not your boyfriend. And you should go back."

As for Yan Jiu, Wu Jiu didn’t have any good feelings anyway; the girl’s family was embroiled in too many secrets.

The daughter of the ruler of the fifth level could sense areas outside the tower and even had so kind of connection with Evil Fallen.

Just thinking about it, he found it unbelievable.

Originally, he thought it was so kind of political scandal, but the situation had exceeded his expectation.

And though in the end, it was Cain’s fault, seeing Yan Jiu’s look of regret for Cain, Wu Jiu couldn’t contain his anger.

He had almost lost a valued subordinate to save this person.

"Ah... Am I going back to the Asylum again? Why did you co to save instead of my boyfriend? What are you to him, and why did he give you the conch?"

The conch was what Yan Jiu called that half of a heart.

Wu Jiu said coldly:

"To save you, he almost died out there, and when he returned to the tower, he was seriously injured; do you still expect him to co and save you?"

Yan Jiu’s heart skipped a beat, and she opened her eyes wide:

"So he still likes ; it’s because he was badly hurt that he entrusted you to rescue . Ah, I get it now!"

Wu Jiu furrowed his brow; he couldn’t quite understand the girl’s train of thought.

Was it an issue with his own expression? Weren’t his words just now ant to accuse her of being a disaster?

Liu Mu was utterly confused; the progression of this dialogue was beyond him.

"The Garrison Corps’ n are coming, shall we contact the Commander directly?" Liu Mu took out his phone.

Wu Jiu nodded.

Although the soldiers of the Investigation Corps generally held lower status than those of the Garrison Corps, both Corps’ Commanders were administrators of the fourth level.

The contest with the Garrison Corps of Gao Ta Town was, after all, a competition between the two Commanders.

Ming Che and even the other mbers of the Garrison Corps might have the gall to intercept Wu Jiu, but they certainly wouldn’t dare to provoke the Commander of the Investigation Corps, Qin Zong.

After receiving a response from Qin Zong, the contest with the Garrison Corps was settled.

Liu Mu said:

"Impressive, we’ve finally won once. The Commander instructed us to take Miss Yan directly to the Asylum. The Garrison Corps will be keeping a close watch on her this ti."

Wu Jiu accepted the plan.

Yan Jiu, listening to their conversation, blinked sowhat blankly.

In fact, it was just like she had deduced; without Cain’s help, she would return to the Asylum.

But suddenly, she felt very lost.

"If I go back to the Asylum, will you and he co to visit ? I want to see him..."

Naturally, she wasn’t referring to Liu Mu. Liu Mu shrugged his shoulders and deliberately stepped back.

He hadn’t yet figured out why this young lady was talking to Wu Jiu as if they were old acquaintances, seemingly skipping the first step of social interaction.

But he didn’t want to know too much, especially about the fifth level.

Wu Jiu said,

"Did you misunderstand sothing? He doesn’t like you."

"Ah, wait for a second."

Yan Jiu directly filtered out the content of Wu Jiu’s words, as if she suddenly rembered sothing, and ran towards the storage room that had been half demolished by the giant Cain.

When she found the painting, Yan Jiu felt as if sothing inside her was dispersing, but she couldn’t describe it—instinctively, she used the index fingers of both hands to lightly press her lips upward, forming a smile.

"I found it."

She ca over to Wu Jiu with a painting in each hand and handed over the one in her left hand, saying,

"Thank you, this is a gift for you."

Wu Jiu was puzzled, not understanding what this was all about. He took the painting and looked at it, his expression unconsciously softening.

The painting depicted him and Bai Wu at the entrance of Economy Class One, fighting back-to-back, shoulder to shoulder.

It was incredibly detailed.

It also served as a testant to their friendship. Feeling slightly less resentnt for Yan Jiu, Wu Jiu calmly said,

"Thank you, but I have to take you away now."

"Oh, sure, then hand this one to him, too," Yan Jiu said, handing out the painting in her right hand.

This painting showed Bai Wu transford into Evil Fallen, extending his damaged bone wings and crashing into the wall of Economy Class One.

It was equally full of detail, even capturing Bai Wu’s expression—determined.

"No one’s ever done this for . When I left that painting behind, I never thought anyone could solve the puzzle within. Because my father, and my brother, and the others in my family, they don’t really like . They don’t want talking to that woman. They don’t want to sympathize with her."

Suddenly, Wu Jiu understood why the young girl could fall in love with Bai Wu.

If Cain was willing to leave a clue related to the painting, such as the smiley face on the mirror as guidance, it ant Cain was convinced that Yan Jiu was an unlikeable person.

Imagine soone like that in real life—an emotional misfit whose smile, if she ever gave one, was stiff and artificial, laced with mockery, soone whose way of thinking was vastly different from regular people, or who might even make bizarre statents about not entirely hating the Evil Fallen.

Especially for those in the know of the Yan Family’s secrets, seeing how reluctant she was to cut ties with that Evil Fallen woman, they would detest her even more.

After all, for seven hundred years, in the eyes of the Yan Family, the disemboweled woman turned Evil Fallen might be nothing but a curse.

Who would want to like such a person?

But Yan Jiu still harbored a hope that soone would like her; otherwise, she wouldn’t have left clues like the area number.

In fact, even if she had directly written out the area number, it probably would have been hard for the Garrison Corps to associate the clue with the region outside the tower left by a girl who had never left the High Tower.

The care she took in leaving the clue was in itself a form of humility.

Maybe if no one ca to save her, she could still deceive herself—"Ah, it’s not that no one ca to rescue , it’s just that the puzzle I left was too obscure."

Yet under such circumstances, Bai Wu suddenly appeared. He boasted and perford on the plane, unintentionally looking like a hero descending in the eyes of the young girl.

Wu Jiu could even imagine that even if Bai Wu truly beca the Evil Fallen, the young girl wouldn’t step back an inch.

"Let’s go to the Asylum."

"Will we et again?" Yan Jiu asked, her eyes wide open, looking at Wu Jiu with an expressionless face.

Compelled by so unknown force, Wu Jiu actually nodded his head,

"Yes, we will. If there’s danger again, make the answer a bit more straightforward next ti."

Yan Jiu nodded, and to express her happiness, she still maintained an expressionless gaze but lifted the corners of her mouth with her fingers.

(Five updates completed. Tomorrow will still be a minimum of three updates, and if I’m in good form and have the ti, I’ll aim for four, or even try for five.)
