Ah Jiu was sitting in the small hall with a cup of tea, watching Wufu walk in with a clear spirit, his gaze falling on her face, montarily entranced.
Having soaked in the hot springs, her cheeks were rosy, needing no makeup at all, as if naturally refined.
Wearing a high-waisted dress in splendid flower lake blue, it made her legs look incredibly long. Her hair, though plaited, hadn’t completely dried, loosely tied with a ribbon dangling various colored beads at the back of her head.
The girl was bright and carefree; she had grown up.
"Have you been waiting long?" Wufu smiled, sat down, took the tea handed over by Jadeite, sipped it, and said: "Go and prepare the al."
"Shall we have a al first and then stroll around the estate? We can go hunting on the mountain tomorrow. Ti is abundant; don’t tire yourself!" Ah Jiu suggested.
Wufu had no reason to disagree.
The al consisted of mountain produce from the estate, fresh chicken and fish, and a dish of caralized sweet potatoes, so filling that both of them left with their stomachs full.

"We’re just in the estate; what could possibly happen?" Ah Jiu wouldn’t let them refuse.
Everyone had to stay put.

Ah Jiu squinted happily, let go of her hand, asked a farr where the best sunset view was, got an answer, then ca back to hold Wufu’s hand and led her there.
They walked to a large grassland where there was a huge persimmon tree. Ah Jiu, holding Wufu’s hand, leapt up the tree, found the sturdiest branch to sit on, facing west.
"Others just watch the sunset. You even have to climb a tree." Wufu said, side-eyeing him.
Ah Jiu brushed off a fallen leaf from her head, pulled her into his arms, and said, "This way we won’t be disturbed by those little brats."
Wufu lowered her head and chuckled.
Ah Jiu watched her with arched eyebrows and felt joy from deep within just sitting with her like this.
Wufu looked up, saw him staring, her eyes sparkling, her face a bit flushed, and said sowhat uncomfortably, "What are you looking at?"
"Looking at you."
Ah Jiu’s lips moved slightly, he cupped her chin, leaned closer, slid his hand around her waist, and his lips t hers.
The afterglow of the sunset, brilliant and vivid, fell upon the two on the tree, adding a touch of gentleness...
