Not only did Madam Wang have to swallow the bitter pill of Wufu’s silent grudge, but she also had to guard against Wufu’s next move. That damned girl had said she would shatter her dreams, but how would she do it?

Madam Wang couldn’t fathom what Wufu would do, nor did she dare to think deeply about it. All she could do was place enough people around her children, forbidding them from going out, acting like a startled bird at the slightest movent.

Madam Wang’s unusual behavior and her continuous actions made everyone feel peculiar and strange, especially the long scar on her face, stretched like a centipede across her face. She claid it happened because of a nightmare and that she had accidentally slashed herself with a hairpin in her sleep, but who would believe that!

No one believed it, and there were even rumors that Madam Wang’s bedding was stained with urine and feces. The gossip-loving Lady Liu from the third room went to ask Lady Tong from the second room, whispering and probing for quite so ti.

Madam Wang had no ti to worry about how others speculated. She only tightly instructed people to keep an eye on the happenings at the Changqing Residence. Faced with all this, she had no one to consult, and sohow Nanny Wei was seriously ill at this critical juncture.

Suddenly, Madam Wang had an epiphany, thinking of a certain possibility, and she was greatly shocked as a chill rose from her back to her head.

Regardless of her status, she personally went to Nanny Wei’s house.

When Nanny Wei’s daughter-in-law saw Madam Wang, she was slightly startled, forcing a smile, her eyes evasive.

Seeing this, Madam Wang felt even more weighed down.

"Where’s your mother-in-law?"

"Mother is very ill, lying in bed these past few days!" Eldest Daughter-in-Law Wei forced a smile, blocking her way, "Madam should not go in, lest you catch the illness."

"Move aside." Madam Wang flicked her sleeve and proceeded to Nanny Wei’s room.

Eldest Daughter-in-Law Wei hurriedly followed.

Nanny Wei was truly ill. First, she sprained her foot, then because of her guilty conscience and inner turmoil, coupled with her age and the cold weather, all these pressures compounded, making her seriously ill.

"Madam is here..." Nanny Wei, her hair all white, struggled to rise from the bed while coughing.

Madam Wang’s steps halted, and she looked in astonishnt at her white hair, then at her withered appearance, her cheeks sunken, her heart jolted.

"Wet nurse, how have you aged so much?"

It had only been a few days since they last t, how had she aged so much?

Upon hearing the term "wet nurse," Nanny Wei felt a pang in her heart, her eyes quickly reddened with emotion.

She felt sowhat guilty towards Madam Wang. The tornt she had suffered in her heart these days was no less than that of Madam Wang, feeling both guilt and unease. Now seeing her co in person, she vaguely guessed sothing.

When she saw the thin veil covering Madam Wang’s face, she paused in surprise and asked, "Madam, your face?"

Madam Wang removed the veil, Nanny Wei’s eyes widened in shock, while Eldest Daughter-in-Law Wei let out a cry.

"Leave us," Madam Wang said to Eldest Daughter-in-Law Wei.

Eldest Daughter-in-Law Wei, recovering herself, glanced at Nanny Wei but was t with Madam Wang’s intense gaze. She could only awkwardly say, "Then I will go and prepare the dicine for mother, or else Xiao Shan and his father will bla for not taking good care of her!"

Madam Wang’s gaze turned sharp.

Eldest Daughter-in-Law Wei retreated, stamping her feet at the doorway, then left under the watchful eyes of another nanny. Oh dear, what to do now, Madam has co here.

Inside the room, Madam Wang looked at Nanny Wei and said, "Wet nurse, you want to ask how my face ended up like this?"

"Madam..." Nanny Wei felt an ominous sense wash over her.

As expected, Madam Wang said, "My face was ruined by that wretched Wufu. She snuck into my room in the dead of night, sealed my acupuncture points, and sliced my face with a knife."

Nanny Wei stared in shock, eyes wide.
