Now reading: Chapter 34 - 34 34 No Money, No Talk from Doted By The Regent King, a Drama novel by Yan Xiaomo.

34: Chapter 34 No Money, No Talk 34: Chapter 34 No Money, No Talk Wufu stepped out of the creek valley and, luckily, hunted a wild hare, also picking two large handfuls of wild vegetables and mushrooms.

Even if they couldn’t be eaten at once, they could be dried and eaten later.

As the sky darkened, looking like rain was on the way, Wufu dared not delay any longer and hurried down the mountain; otherwise, Madam Zhou would get anxious.

Dragging footsteps sounded from behind, Wufu paused, turned around, and saw Ah Jiu clutching one side of his abdon with one hand, leaning on a tree, and gasping for breath with the other.

Wufu raised an eyebrow, he actually followed?

“What, are you thinking of acting the beast?” Wufu crossed her arms and asked, her eyes carrying a hint of chill.

Ah Jiu coughed twice and said, “Girl, I’ve suffered a serious internal injury.

Not to ntion doing anything to you, even if you wanted to bury , I’m afraid I couldn’t resist!”

He did have external injuries as well, but the most severe were internal.

Just before eting this girl, he’d already gone through a vicious fight.

Now, inside, his internal organs were in acute pain, especially after walking this far.

Therefore, he wasn’t what Wufu had insinuated, wanting to act the beast, well, or to say, to play the farr who saved the snake or Mr.

Dong Guo who saved the wolf.

He disdained to do such to a little girl.

Although this girl had an air of mischief, in light of her not disregarding him, a man of unknown origin, and instead helping him with his wounds and leaving him sothing to eat, he wanted to trust once.

To trust his own judgnt of character.

After listening, Wufu turned to leave.

“That, girl.” Ah Jiu called out to her again, “I’m shaless to ask, but may I request your assistance once more?” He coughed again, his throat sweet, blood unexpectedly seeping from the corner of his mouth.

If this were a normal hunter’s daughter, she might have felt compassion long ago, but this was Wufu.

“By what right?”

Ah Jiu had so understanding of Wufu’s attitude; she seed rather unconventional in her approach.

Was it because she grew up in the mountains that she was more cautious of people?

Though she appeared relaxed, she was always guarded.

“Have you got money?”

“Huh?” Ah Jiu was taken aback, money?

Wufu said, “Well, let put it this way, do you have silver?”

Ah Jiu then realized, so she was asking for paynt, or was it a trade?

“If you can pay my remuneration, then I will help you,” Wufu stated.

He would pay money, and she would provide service.

This was fair, just as it had always been.

The relationship between an employer and employee couldn’t be better.

“Alright,” Ah Jiu said, fumbling on his person, all the while sighing a huge sigh of relief in his heart.

He needed help urgently now.

But after groping for a long ti, he couldn’t even find a copper coin.

The purse he had was lost during that vicious fight, and he had no idea where it had gone.

Ah Jiu looked sowhat embarrassedly at Wufu.

Wufu shrugged and walked away.

No money, nothing to talk about!

“Wait!” Ah Jiu called out again, taking a few steps forward, “Let owe you first, and after I get out of this bind, I’ll repay you tenfold.”

Wufu laughed, “Big brother, we don’t have a relationship of acquaintance, do we?

You say I should put it on credit, but why should I trust you?”

In her dictionary, there was no such thing as doing work first and getting paid after.

If you wanted her to do sothing, you had to first provide the appropriate remuneration; else, don’t even think about asking for her aid.

Ah Jiu, seeing her earnest deanor, felt the pain of his internal injuries getting worse, angry.

He thought for a mont, then took off a red string from around his neck and handed it over, saying through clenched teeth, “This, as a pawn for now, should that be okay?”
