She just never expected him to be a friend of Master Shaw.
After he hung up the phone, May asked, "Did you find out?"
"Yes."
Seven minutes later, the three of them arrived outside the operating room.
Eugene Dawson and Finn Pierce were in the hallway, not noticing Aiden Shaw had arrived.
Aiden’s voice was as cold as ever, "Finn."
He and Eugene Dawson turned their heads simultaneously.
Finn’s face was still dust-covered, and his attractive eyes were bloodshot. He stared at Aiden for a while before speaking, "Uncle..."
Eugene Dawson was startled, and upon realizing Finn was addressing Aiden Shaw, he was thrown into disarray.
Finn was actually Master Shaw’s mysterious nephew...
Aiden walked towards him with long strides, his entire deanor exuding a sharpness, his eyes cold and not at all soft as usual, piercing in their gaze, "Where is your phone?"
He lowered his head, looking like a boy who had done sothing wrong, ekly answering, "It fell into the ruins while rescuing Tiana."
Ruins...
Hearing these words, Aiden Shaw’s handso eyebrows knitted together.
May’s heart skipped a beat, realizing the situation on site must be far more severe than imagined. She inevitably thought of the globally shocking earthquake from the past, the place called a ruin, where those dug out were either dead or maid.
"How could this happen..."
She murmured, taking a few staggering steps back, unable to bear the shock.
Miles Xavier, who happened to be walking by, caught her from behind, "Careful."
She turned around, seeing his noble, cold, and handso face. At that mont, he seed to her like a lifeline, "Dr. Garrison, will Tiana be okay?"
He was the most skilled surgeon, certainly able to offer a rough prognosis.
Aiden Shaw also looked at him.
He had seen much of life and death, his heart unruffled, adjusted his white coat, pushed up his glasses, and distanced himself a bit from her.
Raising his gaze to Aiden Shaw, he said in his usual formal tone, "I just spoke with the nurses who went to the site to treat them. Currently, the one in the most danger is not Miss Thorne, but Mr. Vance."
May blurted out, "Julian Eas?"
"Yes."
Aiden Shaw remained silent, but turned to look at Finn Pierce, squinting slightly.
Finn took a tense breath, answering, "It was Mr. Vance who saved Tiana."
His brows furrowed slightly, his voice carrying an urgency uncharacteristic of his usual iciness, "Details."
"After we cleared the slabs and bricks, we saw Mr. Vance holding up a deford desk smashed by debris, covered in blood, with Tiana in his arms, just at the corner near the wall, which hadn’t collapsed. That’s how Tiana’s life was spared..."
Listening to this, May found it unbelievable, seeming to imagine the scene Finn described, "Mr. Vance used his body to shield Tiana from the impact? He protected Tiana, saving her?"
Finn didn’t refute, nodding before falling silent.
She instinctively looked at Aiden Shaw, only to see an ocean of emotions swirling in his deep eyes. On closer look, they were as profound as black holes in the universe, impossible to see through.
Aiden Shaw’s voice was sowhat hoarse, "Nathan, spare no effort to snatch him from the Grim Reaper, Julian Eas, cannot die."
The last six words were spoken with great weight.
May understood, Julian Eas indeed could not die. If he did, it would be a lifelong regret for Tiana.
Additionally, no one knew what kind of feelings Julian Eas held for Tiana.
Often, even married couples might abandon each other in a disaster, yet these two people, eting only twice and having a small grudge, could protect one another with their lives. What kind of feelings could those be?
If Julian Eas had unilaterally had feelings for Tiana, that sentint was too heavy.
Therefore, by any ans, he couldn’t die.
"Yes."
Miles Xavier responded with a word.
As both sides were in surgery, given that Miles Xavier ntioned the danger was primarily with Julian Eas, it ant Tiana would likely be okay.
He entered the nearby office, donned surgical attire, put on a mask, and pushed open the operating room door to check on Julian Eas’s condition.
Afterwards, everyone continued to wait silently in the hallway without saying another word.
"Eugene Dawson."
Eugene was equally concerned, his emotions heavy. This was the most severe incident he had encountered in his many years as a director. He nodded, "Master Shaw."
Aiden wasted no words, "Analyze."
In such situations, they were all outsiders, and only the director had more authority to speak.
Eugene Dawson frowned, analyzing, "This classroom isn’t newly constructed; many TV shows and movies have used this set before without incident. If it were sabotage, there were no explosives on site, just a normal collapse. If it truly were deliberate, without a bulldozer, no one could destroy this building. I think it must have been an accident."
Aiden’s voice chilled slightly, "Accident?"
Their hearts raced, Eugene lowered his head, only able to draw that conclusion from appearances.
He asked again in a steady voice, "Who’s responsible for inspecting filming locations?"
"A specially designated departnt inspects once a year."
His voice suddenly rose, "Once a year?"
Eugene was startled, feeling pressed by his words, unable to respond.
The hallway fell silent, everyone hearing their own heartbeat.
Aiden finally instructed, "In ten minutes, I want the profiles of everyone in the inspection departnt. An incident like this can’t be brushed off as re accident; without consequence, accidents can happen anywhere."
With those words, he had already decided the future for everyone in the filming location’s inspection departnt.
Eugene nodded, "Understood."
"Jesse Rivers."
Jesse stepped forward, nodding, awaiting orders.
"Go investigate the site. If it’s confird not to be sabotage, none of the inspection departnt need continue working. Notify everyone that all filming sites will be inspected once every two weeks."
Jesse responded, "Yes."
Eugene dared not say another word.
It was fortunate both Tiana and Julian Eas were saved. If not, all staff would be held accountable.
After Jesse left, the corridor remained silently waiting.
He slid a hand into his pocket, touching the smooth, cold jade, gripping it with so force, his Adam’s apple moving up and down twice, his expression cold.
Finn, being his nephew, could sense his mood, feeling his unease.
He opened his mouth slightly, but ultimately refrained from comforting.
At such a critical mont, he wasn’t by Tiana’s side. If Julian Eas didn’t make it...
Just as that thought surfaced, he imdiately suppressed it.
An hour later, the operating room door opened.
