May originally thought she would be very happy, but who knew she’d be so cold-faced: "Hang up."
May was stunned for several seconds after hearing this.
"Hang up, turn off the phone, it’s ringing nonstop and disturbing my rest." Tiana Thorne repeated once more, this ti more specifically.
May: "..."
She understood that Tiana was upset and felt that Lennon was a little innocent, but she couldn’t go against her, so she had to hang up the phone and then turn it off.
Tiana’s mood was a mix of up and down; she really wanted to hear his voice before, but now she just wanted so peace.
Seeing her like this, May opened her mouth, sowhat wanting to tell her the truth, but fearing she’d worry too much and affect her condition.
In the end, she gave up.
After a while, she started feeling uncomfortable and planned to help Lennon, who had given so much.
She tentatively asked, "Are you sure you don’t want to answer his call, Tiana?"
"Yeah."
It hurts so much, I don’t even want to speak.
It’s like a needle viciously pierced into her toe, inch by inch deeper; the pain made her mind very clear, making it impossible to fall asleep and temporarily forget this pain.
Not just her toe, her whole body was sore and aching.
She endured it for half an hour, a thin layer of cold sweat drenching her, making her extrely uncomfortable.
"The dicine is finished, I’ll get the doctor to change it, you lie still."
Tiana responded weakly: "Mm~"
She was so exhausted from the pain, almost out of strength...
After waiting a few minutes, the doctor ca over with a nurse, the nurse removed the IV, and took a needle, pressing a cotton swab on the back of her hand: "Throw the swab away once there’s no more bleeding."
"Mmm..."
The nurse listened to her weak voice, glanced again at her charming yet pale face, but it still couldn’t conceal her extraordinary beauty.
The nurse is a fan of Julian Eas’s wife, and thinking about his current state, she felt very dissatisfied inside, forcibly suppressing her inner anger.
But this little injury hurt this much; she originally thought Tiana Thorne would be different, didn’t expect her to be so pretentious, a drama queen.
If it weren’t for Julian Eas, she would’ve been crushed to death long ago, yet she doesn’t care at all about the man who protected her with his life.
With no caras pointing at her, who is she putting on this pitiful act for, it’s nauseating.
The attending doctor bowed his head and first examined her foot, then looked at her other injuries, and instructed: "It’s the healing phase of the wound now, try not to get out of bed."
"Thank you, doctor..." Tiana squinted slightly, speaking a word to the doctor seed to drain her energy.
"You’re welco."
Seeing the doctor and nurse about to leave, Tiana politely inquired: "Could I have so special painkillers?"
The doctor nodded: "Sure."
Then instructed the nurse: "Ginny, please bring a box for Miss Thorne."
Ginny Shea nodded respectfully: "Okay, I’ll go right away."
After the two left, the room fell quiet.
To alleviate the pain, Tiana diverted her attention: "Did you visit Julian Eas this afternoon?"
"Finn and I have both seen him; don’t worry about him, with here, you should heal quickly, once you’re able to get out of bed, thank him in person."
Tiana shook her head, the scene of him protecting her still replaying in her mind.
The heavy objects crushed her; he furiously asked her a question and then fainted. At that mont, she thought he was dead.
Thinking of this, she felt a chill in her heart. Fortunately, he’s not seriously hurt, so the burden in her heart lightened a bit.
May saw her low spirits and comforted her: "Don’t think too much, isn’t he fine now? Once you both recover, treat him to a nice al in thanks."
Despite her words, she felt uncertain, her heart sinking, not knowing if that day would ever co.
Tiana gently shook her head, her voice a bit hoarse: "Such a great favor isn’t sothing a al or a simple thank you can repay."
May felt moved listening, looking at her wistful expression, rembering that she had just ordered Lennon’s call to be hung up.
Uncertainly, she softly asked: "Tiana, are you thinking of offering yourself to him as a way to repay him?"
Tiana rolled her eyes at her: "I already have a boyfriend, how could I possibly do sothing like cheating or betrayal?"
She had been betrayed by her best friend before, even though she was just a little fox spirit at that ti, the pain stayed with her across many lifetis.
How could she ever hurt soone else in the sa way?
Unless Lennon and she broke up.
She sighed, saying: "We’ll discuss how to repay the favor later."
"Mm."
Tiana looked around, sowhat curious: "Where’s Finn? I haven’t seen him around."
"He’s taking care of Julian Eas in his ward, don’t worry about it. After taking your dicine, do you want so porridge?"
"No appetite, I’ll sleep after the ds."
Seeing her pale face and her clothes slightly damp with sweat, May fetched a towel to put on her back: "You’re sweating nonstop, be careful not to catch a cold."
"Mmm..."
The door opened then, giving May a start, genuinely fearing any bad news. Turning around, she was relieved to see Ginny Shea holding painkillers.
"Special painkillers will cause so damage to the kidneys; take only one when the pain is unbearable, with eight-hour intervals."
After finishing, Ginny handed the box over to May.
May smiled and nodded: "Thank you."
She looked up, noticing Ginny’s eyes were red, tears welling, like she was trying hard to control her emotions.
"Give one of the pills." Tiana said.
"Oh, alright."
May poured a cup of water, sipped a little to check that it wasn’t too hot, then gave the pill to her: "The water’s just right. Take one, and no more next ti you’re in pain, because of the side effects."
Tiana swallowed it lazily and said: "You know I can’t stand pain..."
This finally pushed the nurse, who was on the verge of a breakdown, over the edge; her eyes reddened as she glared at Tiana: "You can’t stand pain, do you think Mr. Vance can?"
The sudden questioning startled Tiana a bit, causing May to shift positions so she could clearly see the nurse’s tear-filled eyes and understand.
She probably is a Julian Eas wife fan.
May’s heart skipped, sensing trouble, and imdiately said coldly: "Please control your personal emotions, the patient needs rest now, please leave."
"Mr. Vance was severely injured while saving you, ribs fractured, leg broken. Although he had surgery, there is still bleeding in his skull, in the ICU, any of those injuries can take his life at any ti. Earlier, he went into the ergency room again."
