She reached out her hand again to grab the grapes.
However, her mom was faster, taking her target and eating it.
Soon, a fruit plate was empty.
She moved her mouth, still feeling like eating.
Ms. Jarvis put the fruit plate back on the coffee table, then took a candy from the jar and handed it to her: "Eat this."
No grapes, but the vanilla-flavored candy wasn’t bad either. At this mont, she felt quite satisfied inside.
Ms. Jarvis could be considered the second woman in the world to treat her so well.
The first was May Sloane, of course.
She just hoped this kindness would last a little longer.
Tiana Thorne blinked, making conversation with Ms. Jarvis lazily, curving her lips to ask: "Ms. Jarvis, where are you sleeping tonight?"
"Apart from the sofa, I don’t seem to have any other choice, do I?"
This was a trap set by her son, and she had to fill it instead of leaving.
Tiana’s smile blood like a flower, lazily curving her lips. Her pale cheeks seed to regain so color, a hint of red, and she said softly, "That’s really a hardship for you."
At this mont, there was a knock on the door.
"Co in."
Miles Xavier ca in.
He held a dicine, ready to administer an IV to her. Upon seeing Ms. Jarvis, his expression was uncharacteristically gentle: "Auntie."
Having played together with the fourth child since childhood, he had a good relationship with her and greeted, "Nathan, I haven’t seen you for a while, have you started dating?"
He lowered his gaze for just a mont, then raised his head again, shaking it gently: "Too busy, no ti."
Rouge Jarvis curved her lips: "You young people all have your own ideas. You go ahead, I won’t disturb your work."
"Okay."
Tiana noticed the flicker of darkness in his eyes when he looked at Ms. Jarvis, fleeting yet clear.
What was going on?
In her view, Miles Xavier ca to her bedside, taking her hand, and spoke to her with a completely different feeling than with Ms. Jarvis, distant and indifferent: "After this bottle finishes, there’s another one at midnight, administer it then."
Tiana nodded: "Got it."
He picked up her hand to administer the injection into her vein. She closed her eyes, turned her face to the side, and whispered so only he could hear: "Ms. Jarvis thinks I’m Maxim’s girlfriend and ca to take care of . Dr. Garrison, please don’t let it slip."
He said nothing, focused on his work.
Feeling uneasy, Tiana added, "Don’t tell her that I’m actually Aiden Shaw’s girlfriend. She has a heart condition and if she finds out, the consequences would be unthinkable."
Suddenly, he straightened up, looking down at her with a distant gaze.
Then, he gave a faint smile, parted his lips, raised his voice—not seeming in the mood to talk quietly with her, a cold and unapproachable attitude: "I’m not soone who likes gossiping."
Tiana: "..."
What?
This guy just said it outright, didn’t it make Ms. Jarvis realize she was whispering to him?
She only reminded him because yesterday, he very directly ntioned elder brother giving blood to Julian Eas, which made her say a bit more.
However, judging by his attitude, he truly had zero interest in the family affairs of the Ford family.
Rouge Jarvis slightly squinted her eyes, seemingly scrutinizing her, contemplating what she had just said to prompt Miles Xavier to say sothing like that.
After he finished, Miles moved to Rouge Jarvis’s side: "Auntie, you can sleep in my office tonight. I’ll take care of things here. Being here day and night, if Tiana gets better and you fall sick, Aiden will bla ."
Rouge Jarvis gently curved her lips, saying calmly: "She is my daughter-in-law. If I leave her with you tonight, Maxim would bla too."
