Tiana Thorne showed great respect for the person who had stayed by her mother’s side for years, and smiled: "Would you like to go inside and lie down for a while, Mrs. Farewell?"
"No, thank you, Miss Thorne."
She didn’t ask where she was going, just stepped forward, staying by her side, closely protecting her safety.
Tiana did not refuse.
May Sloane pushed her, stopping at the door of Julian Eas’s hospital room.
"I’ll knock."
As she reached out her hand, Chance Hayes opened the door to the room.
Chance Hayes was slightly stunned: "May, Miss Thorne."
Tiana Thorne smiled and greeted him: "Hello, Brother Chance."
"Please co in, Miss Thorne."
"Alright."
Then May helped her in, bringing Mrs. Farewell into the room as well.
Chance Hayes dared not neglect her, as she was the woman of Master Vance.
Thinking back to their ti in Azurea, Julian Eas’s attempt to pursue Tiana had left him in a cold sweat.
Julian Eas’s body was gradually recovering, no longer as frail as before. Though his handso and charming face still looked pale, his unique allure remained unaffected.
When he saw her, he averted his gaze several tis, feeling rather uneasy.
Tiana noticed his gaze, looking at him with so confusion: "Mr. Vance, is sothing wrong with your eyes?"
Julian Eas: "..."
Pretending not to know.
Tiana chuckled softly, then turned to look at May and the others, instructing them: "You all go out, I have so matters to discuss with Mr. Vance alone."
"Alright."
Mrs. Farewell and the others left, leaving only her and Julian Eas in the room.
Tiana relaxed into the wheelchair, smiling slightly: "Now that no one’s here, Mr. Vance, there’s no need to feel embarrassed."
Seeing through his thoughts, Julian Eas was a bit displeased, glared at her, and snorted: "Who’s embarrassed?"
Tiana decided not to tease him further.
She felt deeply grateful.
Thankfully, he survived.
Thankfully, he could still be harsh to her now.
She smiled gently, her bewitching fox-like eyes softening ever so slightly, speaking earnestly with every word: "Julian, no matter what you think or why you saved , I must thank you now, truly, thank you."
Allowing her to live on, to spend more ti with her loved ones and protect those who are good to her.
Hearing her suddenly thank him so earnestly, he felt uncomfortable all over and frowned: "What’s there to thank for such a thing?"
"You saved my life, such a montous thing, if not thank-worthy, then what is?"
Julian looked at her raised eyebrows, her charming face, her playful smile, feeling increasingly frustrated inside.
He’s a man, after all.
When danger looms, regardless of who’s beside him, as long as it’s a woman, even if not Tiana, he would protect them.
Of course, if at that ti, there was a man beside him, then both would have to rely on their own abilities to survive.
As a man, he ought to be manly.
Should he leave a woman behind and flee?
A coward.
Julian Eas would never do such a thing.
So, saving Tiana felt perfectly normal and right for him.
However, all the people around her ca to him to express their thanks, one by one disturbing his peace, which annoyed and embarrassed him.
Sowhat impatiently, he said: "Alright, alright, your man has already thanked , so let’s not ntion this again."
Tiana laughed gracefully: "If we won’t ntion it, we won’t. In any case, Julian, you’re a friend for life to ."
Upon hearing this, Julian frowned, quite displeased: "I never agreed to be your friend, last ti’s matter hasn’t ended with yet."
