Aiden Shaw furrowed his brows, instinctively distancing himself from her.
At that mont, Tiana Thorne seed to be clutching onto a lifeline, unwilling to let go.
She reached out again, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Burying her face into his chest, trying to hide from the thunderstorm.
Even so, the sound still pierced her ears, making her tremble uncontrollably.
Aiden Shaw’s thin lips parted slightly: "Scared of thunder?"
Tiana said nothing, her hands gripping his white shirt tightly, fingertips blanching yet not letting go.
Aiden instinctively felt repelled by a woman getting too close, he frowned, his voice sowhat cold: "Let go."
A faint scent of musk wafted into his nostrils, along with the warmth from his body, only then realizing what she had done.
Almost instantly, she released him, retreating backward to maintain so distance.
Under the dim light, the creases she had made on his clothes were visible.
"I..."
Rumbling thunder —
"Ah!"
Tiana scread once more, simultaneously throwing herself back into his arms.
In a daze, she seed to see a face blackened by a lightning strike, with traces of blood surging.
It twitched twice before dying.
Her eyes suddenly welled up with tears, hugging Aiden even tighter.
Her small body was trembling uncontrollably, breathing was rapid.
Aiden felt her fear, his dark brown eyes deepened slightly.
His hand moved but paused mid-air, then returned to its original place.
This ti, he didn’t push her away.
Tiana knew that in the dead of night, holding onto him like this was inappropriate.
But she couldn’t control it, for as soon as she let go, the fear born from her heart would consu her consciousness.
At this mont, all pretense was dropped, leaving only fear.
"You..."
"Aiden Shaw..." Tiana’s voice trembled, interrupting him like a child afraid of being abandoned.
This was probably the first ti Tiana called him by his full na.
Aiden’s brow furrowed deeper: "What is it?"
Her voice wavered, speaking haltingly: "Don’t push away, just this once...alright?"
Aiden was stunned for a mont, then reached out, placing his hand on her shoulder: "Okay."
Afterward, every clap of thunder made Tiana shiver.
It was unclear how much ti passed.
Perhaps it was because Aiden’s masculine presence was strong, or maybe she was just too tired and sleepy, the fear gradually dissipated.
Slowly closing her eyes, she fell into a deep sleep.
But she knew, the thunder had beco a lifelong shadow for her.
Aiden looked down, his nose just brushed her soft strands of hair, a faint fragrance mixed with a hint of rose scent embraced him.
Just like her, enchanting.
Aiden’s cool lips curved into a slight smile.
Turns out, the fearless little sprite is afraid of thunder.
...
In the later half of the night.
After the thunderstorm, Tiana’s sleep was actually quite light, especially since for many years, she had always slept alone.
Suddenly, sensing soone next to her, she almost awoke with a start.
Moving slightly, she instantly felt a unique cold fragrance on Aiden besides the musk, a very familiar scent.
Tiana looked up at him, he seed to be sleeping quite soundly?
And his hand was actually on her waist?
Instantly, that familiar scent was dispersed by anger.
Taking advantage of her again!
Damn Aiden Shaw!
