Lan Xuanyu, of course, had his own workaround. If one teleport couldn’t cover the distance, then he’d just split it into two. As long as every city had an interdiate transfer station, he could chain multiple teleports together to reach far-flung regions—and then launch his attacks from there. The hunt for pseudo-dragons was destined to be waged across the entire Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet.

The fact that the life energy of a single Lower Dragon race lifeform could only allow Tang Yuge and Lan ngqin to complete one round of tempering between them genuinely startled Lan Xuanyu. He had originally assud that the life force of a Lower Dragon race should at least be enough for four people to cultivate with.

But reality didn’t match his expectations. Tang Yuge had stubbornly held on until that Lower Dragon’s life energy was completely exhausted. Of course, Tang Yuge’s tolerance was the highest among them; no one else had her level of endurance.

If it were a Higher Dragon, the result might be very different. After all, the bloodline power of a Lower Dragon was too muddled; their dragon blood wasn’t pure. The closer a bloodline ca to true draconic ancestry, the vaster the energy it contained.

This success delighted Lan Xuanyu. Although they would still need massive amounts of life energy to replenish themselves after each session, Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet had no shortage of that. Life force was the one thing this planet had in abundance.

In the future, if their strength increased to the point where they could take down an actual Dragon Knight and use him for tempering, who knew what kind of realm they might be able to reach?

For now, of course, that was nothing more than a pleasant fantasy. The Dragon Knights existed on a whole different level. For the mont, it was enough just to imagine it.

Tang Yuge and Lan ngqin were sent to Old Shu’s side to cultivate and absorb life energy. Lan Xuanyu, accompanied by Bai Xiuxiu, Yuanen Huihui, and Qian Lei, returned to the City Lord’s Mansion.

Relying on spatial teleportation, their nightti operation had been completely silent—no gods noticed, no ghosts sensed a thing. In just a few short hours, they had completed the trip to Xiaoyun City, hunted and killed a Lower Dragon race, and devoured its energy for body tempering.

That entire process had been both tense and exhilarating. By the ti they made it back to Bai Xiuxiu’s quarters, everyone was still riding an emotional high.

“Xuanyu, if you directly devoured the bloodline power of those dragon-type creatures, could that count as body tempering too?” soone asked.

Lan Xuanyu nodded. “It should be possible—and it would be even more effective than cultivating in the Dragon Force Hall. The Dragon Force in the Hall, for , just doesn’t have quite enough purity or quantity. Next ti, we can try hunting dragon-type creatures specifically for tempering. But we should wait a bit first and see whether there’s any fallout here from that Lower Dragon’s disappearance. If this puts the dragon race on alert, we’ll have to lie low for a while. Tomorrow, let’s go back to the Dragon Force Hall and continue cultivating there.”

“Alright.”

Mother Star, Shrek Academy.

Stepping lightly, Tang Wulin walked along the shoreline until he ca to a stop.

The weather today was exceptional, the sunlight warm and radiant. The surface of the Sea God Lake shimred with glints of light, its ripples sparkling like a field of stars. At the lake’s center, the Eternal Tree still towered into the sky. There wasn’t a single cloud today; from the lakeshore, one could clearly see that colossal canopy blotting out the sun. Under the sunlight, the tree crown’s shadow stretched across one side of the Sea God Lake, creating a scene of strange and solemn beauty.

This was Tang Wulin’s first ti leaving the Sea God Pavilion to co out and take a look around since returning to Shrek Academy.

His condition had basically stabilized. The turmoil stirred up by the bloodline breakthrough had finally been forced back under control. After all, this was the fruition of long, patient accumulation—ten thousand years of sedinted power yielding a single opportunity. Borrowing the energy sealed within the Seventeenth Seal, he had managed to step across that line.

But he also understood perfectly well that the final Eighteenth Seal still lay far, far out of reach. Judging from what he had gone through to break the Seventeenth, if he dared to shatter the last seal now, his consciousness would likely be swallowed whole by the Golden Dragon King. To completely dissolve the Golden Dragon King’s will lingering within his body, he would probably need to reach at least the God King realm. On the Mother Planet, where could he possibly find a path to godhood?

Dad, Mom… when will you be able to co back?

His heart tightened with longing as he rembered those few, all-too-rare monts of contact he’d had with his father. With his father’s help, he had survived crisis after crisis, even though he had never once seen his true, biological parents in person. Deep down, though, he had always loved them with all his heart.

He walked along the lakeshore, lost in thought, while his eyes quietly searched his surroundings, as if looking for sothing.

After a while, he stopped in front of a small wooden cabin. He stared at it in silence, suddenly uncertain, his feet rooted to the spot.

At that mont, the door to the cabin swung open. A middle-aged woman stepped out. She wore a sleek athletic outfit with a scarf draped casually around her neck—dressed, it seed, for a workout.

Seeing soone standing at her doorstep, she paused in surprise. When she caught sight of Tang Wulin’s face, she froze and blurted out, “Mr. Le?”

Tang Wulin inclined his head politely. “Hello. You must be Ms. Nan Cheng. We’ve t before.”

“Yes, yes, we have. We… we t at your concert,” Nan Cheng said, her excitent plain as she all but bounced in place like a young girl.

Tang Wulin’s tone was warm and courteous. “Would it be alright if I had a few words with you?”

“Oh, of course, of course. Please, co in.” As she spoke, she stepped aside and made a welcoming gesture, pushing the door fully open.

Under Nan Cheng’s guidance, Tang Wulin entered the wooden cabin.

The interior was simple, fresh, and spotless. Being right on the shore of the Sea God Lake, the cabin was surrounded by lush vegetation, and a faint plant fragrance lingered in the air inside, soothing and gentle.

Following Nan Cheng into the living room, Tang Wulin’s gaze was imdiately drawn to a photograph hanging on the wall. It was a family portrait of three: Nan Cheng, Lan Luoi, and a boy who looked no more than seven or eight years old—Lan Xuanyu.

All three were smiling brightly.

At the sight of that photo, Tang Wulin stopped in his tracks. His vision blurred, his eyes suddenly wet. Even he himself did not understand why, in that instant, he had beco so fragile.

Nan Cheng glanced at him. “Mr. Le, are you alright? This is my husband and my son. You…”

Mid-sentence, she froze. Sothing clicked in her mind, and her eyes flew wide open.

The first mont she had seen Tang Wulin at her door, all she could think was that this was that superstar—the celebrity she liked most. Her heart had leaped with excitent. But now, all at once, she recalled what Lan Xuanyu had told her… and understood who Tang Wulin really was.

“Thank you,” Tang Wulin suddenly said. He turned toward Nan Cheng and bowed deeply.

Nan Cheng jumped in alarm and hurriedly waved her hands. “No, no, there’s no need… I…”

She didn’t even know what she was supposed to say.

She looked at Tang Wulin, then back at the little boy in the photo. Yes… they really did look so very alike.

Silence settled over the room. After a long mont, Tang Wulin finally asked, “May I trouble you to tell about Xuanyu when he was little?”

Nan Cheng had collected herself by now. She smiled softly. “Of course. Xuanyu, that child… he’s always been so well-behaved…”

Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet, Fenglong City, Dragon Force Hall.

Lan Xuanyu sat cross-legged in the Dragon Force Hall, cultivating side by side with Bai Xiuxiu.

Today, he truly ca to understand what Dragon Force Tempering ant—the agony was indescribable.

When igniting his bloodline, he had chosen to burn the Dragon God bloodline, because he knew only the flas of the Dragon God’s blood could refine his body to the most thorough degree. In the future, when he broke through, he would need to withstand simultaneous impacts from the Golden Dragon King’s bloodline and the Silver Dragon King’s bloodline. Only by leaning on the Dragon God’s power could he hope to endure.

But setting the Dragon God bloodline ablaze had nearly broken him. The sheer, crushing pain engulfed him in an instant. At the sa ti, his body had beco like a whale drawing in seawater—he devoured all of the Dragon Force within the Hall in a single breath. Bai Xiuxiu, who had just been about to start absorbing Dragon Force herself, could only stare, dumbstruck, as seven-colored flas erupted around Lan Xuanyu and lit up the entire chamber.
