"Announcing sothing...?"
Kong Mingan murmured softly, though he likely already understood. He naturally recalled the physical condition of His Majesty over the past few years. On the surface, His Majesty had suffered internal injuries in his early years, and coupled with his diligence in state affairs, he had fallen ill from overwork. His health had been poor for a long ti, especially in recent years, to the point where he had almost entirely handed over political affairs to Crown Prince Crown Prince Xu Tianran and the Pillar of the Sun Moon Empire, Kong Deming. He lived in seclusion, focusing on recovery. He had been on the verge of death, but thanks to a Breakthrough in basic Materials and a major revolution in dical technology, his life was barely sustained. However, he remained extrely weak, and any discerning person could see his days were numbered.
Yet Kong Mingan knew very well that the Emperor had actually been poisoned, specifically with a very special blood and flesh toxin developed by Ye Xishui. Even the so-called worsening of his condition was being driven by Crown Prince Xu Tianran.
In its early stages, there was a chance to extract this poison, but now it had already taken root in his bone marrow. With the Sun Moon Empire's current dical technology, it was extrely difficult to eradicate, unless soone like him or another Divine Rank existence intervened.
According to his calculations, the Emperor would die suddenly in two or three years at most. At that ti, the internal affairs of the Sun Moon Empire would likely descend into a brief period of chaos surrounding the throne.
During such a sensitive period, the Emperor, who had not appeared in public for a long ti, was to attend his engagent banquet. The attention this would attract was predictable. To others, this would likely be the Emperor's last appearance at a major public event. Perhaps he would take this opportunity to officially establish a successor. Furthermore, with Kong Deming, the pillar of the Empire, also present, their joint endorsent could fully ensure a smooth transition of the throne.
Xu Tianzhen continued, "In short, over the next year or so, my brothers will likely perform desperately to gain more support."
Kong Mingan expressed his understanding. It was common knowledge that Crown Prince Crown Prince Xu Tianran was disabled. No faction within the Sun Moon Empire would accept an emperor with a physical disability who could not produce an heir. To them, anyone could sit on the throne except Crown Prince Xu Tianran. Therefore, competition for the throne was entirely possible, and the allure of the crown was beyond doubt. The various princes were naturally bracing themselves, and a drama of 'brotherly love' was likely inevitable.
To the side, seeing Kong Mingan's knowing yet detached expression, Xu Tianzhen frowned slightly and leaned in closer, almost pressing against his cheek. "Don't you care at all?"
Kong Mingan was puzzled. "Why should I care?"
Xu Tianzhen narrowed her eyes. "Don't you want to choose one of my brothers to support and then turn him into an obedient Puppet?"
Several years ago, when she first t this guy, she had overheard a conversation between him and Grandpa Kong, which she still rembered vividly. Kong Mingan chuckled slightly. "What makes you think I have such an idea?"
Xu Tianzhen stared at him for a few seconds. Seeing that he truly didn't seem to have such thoughts, she eventually shook her head and leaned back into his arms. "Fine, if you don't have that idea, then you don't."
Kong Mingan's gaze was calm, but his thoughts shifted slightly. Had he never thought about it? Actually, he had, but as the situation changed, he now felt it was unnecessary. In his plans, the future Sun Moon Empire's imperial power would gradually be diluted by subsequent reforms and the infiltration of the Divine Kingdom of Order's influence. Eventually, the Sun Moon imperial family would not disappear but would instead beco a symbolic mascot.
Since they would be mascots, it didn't really matter who beca the emperor. Of course, if he had to choose one...
His gaze landed inconspicuously on the young girl in his arms.
He would probably choose to support an Empress? After all, keep the benefits within the family; he had never hidden his selfishness.
The group chatted for a while longer until the sky turned completely dark. Only then did Miss ng and Her Highness the Princess pull each other away, taking Miss Auspicious Beast with them.
Silence returned to the room. Kong Mingan stretched slightly, preparing to check on the Ice Empress's situation.
Currently, after several successful attempts, the Ice Empress had begun to condense her fifth Star Ring. Although it seed unlikely that anything would go wrong, it was better to go and check just to be safe.
Thinking this, spatial ripples appeared beside Kong Mingan. Just as he was about to enter, the door behind him was gently pushed open.
A golden figure walked in silently and gently closed the door behind her.
It was Qiu'er. She was still wearing that black and white maid uniform. Her figure was tall, and her curves were perfectly outlined by the uniform. However, at this mont, that face, which usually held a hint of pride, was clearly filled with nervousness. Her red eyes looked over, eting his gaze, followed by a flash of struggle, and finally... as if she had made so kind of decision.
Kong Mingan felt sothing was off and couldn't help but speak, "Qiu'er?"
Qiu'er didn't answer. Instead, she walked toward him with firm, quick steps. The distance closed rapidly, causing him to instinctively take a half-step back. Qiu'er tilted her head up, looking directly into his eyes. Her voice carried an imperceptible tremble, yet she said with extre seriousness, "I'm ready."
Kong Mingan blinked, sowhat confused. "Ready for... what?"
Qiu'er took a deep breath and stepped forward again, almost pressing against Kong Mingan. In a clearer and more determined voice, she repeated, "I said, I am... ready!"
Kong Mingan took another half-step back, sensing the atmosphere was wrong. The death-defying determination in the girl's eyes reminded him of Miss Dragon King. Perhaps because the girl had used Miss Dragon King's appearance as a reference during her human transformation, her features bore a thirty to forty percent resemblance to Miss Dragon King. This made his sense of déjà vu even stronger. Sothing was happening... Kong Mingan wanted to say sothing more, but a flash of resolution crossed Qiu'er's eyes. She suddenly reached out and grabbed his collar, pulling him forward forcefully. The next mont, he felt a sting on his lips as a collision carrying a scorching breath and no sense of technique slamd into him. The girl held onto him, her entire body burrowing into his embrace, while her other arm wrapped around his neck like an iron hoop, squeezing tightly as if trying to embed herself into his body. Caught off guard, he lost his balance and fell back onto the soft sofa. In response, the girl was relentless, pressing down on him, her arms now both wrapped around his neck. Kong Mingan instinctively frowned slightly, not out of disgust or dislike, but purely because he had no sense of enjoynt at the mont. The girl's movents were clumsy and raw, devoid of any skill; it was more like she was gnawing and biting with brute force. Rather than a kiss, it was more like she was venting her emotions on him in a fit of pique. Good grief... had he beco a toy?
