Lexuan would never abandon anyone.
"Prepare to fight," she said quietly.
"Yes!"
The team instantly rallied.
"Lingru, Liniang, Zhang Chuyan—you're agility types. Cover the skies, provide vision, and harass, but stay safe."
"Zhang Yi, you're control. Use your ghost vines to bind it and support the others if it attacks."
"Xiaotao and Su Wen, stay with Zhang Yi. Beasts rarely target the weak first, so you're relatively safe."
"Everyone else, attack with !"
"This is a battle of attrition. Our goal is just to delay. Don't risk your lives!"
"Yes!"
Lingru released a green bird to scout ahead.
Soul tools could only detect enemies' general location; this bird, as a soul skill, could give more precise info.
But seconds later—
Lingru spat blood.
"It's a hundred-thousand-year Blood-Eating Demon Tiger. My bird didn't even last a second before it was killed! If it hadn't paused, I wouldn't have seen anything!" Lingru said, frightened.
"The Demon Tiger—famous for speed. No wonder... There's only one in the whole forest at this level. Talk about bad luck," Zhang Yi gritted his teeth.
"Take your pills. Get ready!" Lexuan ordered.
A deep tiger roar echoed through the forest.
The once-quiet night erupted as birds and beasts fled. Monts later, Su Wen noticed the area had gone eerily empty.
He broke out in cold sweat as the pressure mounted.
The Shrek team was deadly silent, all eyes fixed on the source of the roar.
Another roar.
A massive red figure erged, its blood-red eyes filled with a hunter's cruelty.
It was Su Wen's first ti seeing a hundred-thousand-year beast—and the sheer pressure was overwhelming. If he were truly six, he'd have wet his pants...
The whole team was pale.
Lexuan didn't attack first—they were stalling. The tiger seed to sense sothing was off, then charged.
"Now!"
Lexuan waved her hand.
The team sprang into action.
Vines shot up to bind the tiger, but it shredded them with a swipe, then lunged straight for Lexuan.
To it, taking out the strongest human first would break the group.
"Silver Moon True Form!"
Lexuan's seven rings (yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black) glowed as she transford into a silver moon, casting light over the earth. Against a hundred-thousand-year beast, there was no holding back.
"Sixth Soul Skill: Eclipse!"
Her sixth ring rged with the silver moon, staining it black. The "black moon" shone on the tiger, freezing it for a mont—then a violent explosion shook the forest.
"Zhang Yi!" Lexuan called, pale but determined.
"Here!"
Zhang Yi's feet rooted into the ground.
"Devil Vine True Body!"
He beca a tree-man.
"Sixth Soul Skill: Spirit Bind!"
"Fifth Soul Skill: Sea of Trees!"
Vines and roots wove into a cocoon, sealing the tiger inside.
"Will it hold?" Lingru asked nervously.
Zhang Yi's mouth twitched. He stared at the cocoon, everyone holding their breath.
If it held for a minute, that'd be great...
But not even two seconds later—
Boom!
The cocoon exploded. The blood-red tiger lunged forth!
"Damn! Not even a second!" Zhang Yi panicked, quickly weaving more vines, but the tiger only slowed.
"Lingru!"
A green arc shot at the tiger.
But it was slapped aside.
Lingru spat blood, her body flung through trees and falling limply.
"Lingru!"
The team's eyes widened.
So this was the true power of a hundred-thousand-year beast?!
