Unlike Donghai City, Skysea City was mountainous, with many buildings constructed on hills, giving the skyline a layered, undulating appearance. So high-rises were even built on mountain peaks, creating the illusion that they pierced straight into the clouds.

Bai Xu and his companion were taken to a luxurious hotel for their stay. The hotel was uniquely designed, with half of its structure extending into the sea. Every room offered an ocean view, making guests feel as though they could embrace the vast sea.

"The scenery here is truly breathtaking!" Bai Xu felt invigorated.

Ding-dong!

The doorbell rang, stirring Bai Xu’s curiosity. Teacher had gone to coordinate with the tournant committee. Tomorrow was the opening ceremony of the The Skysea Alliance Tournant, which would include the drawing of lots, followed imdiately by the matches.

Who could be visiting at this ti?

Puzzled, Bai Xu opened the door to find a familiar, aloof figure standing before him. "Gu Yue?!"

Gu Yue showed little reaction. "I saw you earlier and followed you here. Do you have a mont?"

"What’s the matter?"

"Let’s take a walk. I’d like to discuss sothing with you."

"Alright."

Bai Xu locked the door and followed Gu Yue outside. The hotel lobby was crowded with participants, and the streets outside were jamd with buses transporting competitors.

Without a word, the two of them headed toward the seaside.

Bai Xu was slightly confused. Gu Yue’s attitude had shifted rather abruptly—had sothing happened? Tentatively, he asked, "Shouldn’t you be with Tang Wulin at this ti?"

The sea breeze howled, tousling Gu Yue’s black hair. She absentmindedly tucked a loose strand behind her ear, her icy deanor only enhancing her beauty. It was truly a world where looks mattered.

"He went to the Blacksmiths’ Association with Mu Xi. Why do you ask?"

"No reason. What did you want to talk about? Going to the core area of Star Dou Forest to train?" Not wanting to pry, Bai Xu changed the subject.

"I’ve already spoken to Di Tian about your training in the core area. There won’t be any issues. This ti, I wanted to ask you about sothing else... about my other self, Na’er." Gu Yue stared into Bai Xu’s eyes, searching for any trace of surprise.

But Bai Xu showed no shock at the ntion of Na’er. Instead, he responded with confidence, "What do you want to know?"

’He knows everything... It seems his ability to perceive past and future isn’t an exaggeration. For soone like him to exist in Douluo Continent—who knows if it’s a blessing or a curse.’

"A few years ago, Na’er and I made a bet. You must already know about it through your foresight."

Bai Xu nodded. "I do."

"After our conversation that night, I gained a lot of clarity. She wanted to use human emotions to bind , to prevent from harming Tang Wulin. But now that I know his true identity, I won’t be as ignorant as before."

"What are you trying to say?" Bai Xu frowned.

"But I’m afraid. Na’er was born from the human emotions I cast aside. She’s more human than I am, with deeper feelings. And one day, she will return to . I’m scared that after rging with her, I won’t be myself anymore. I’m scared I won’t be able to bring myself to hurt Tang Wulin, that I’ll hesitate and end up with a tragic fate. On the bus ride here, I tried to kill Xu Xiaoyan, but I couldn’t do it. A strange tenderness welled up inside , and I couldn’t help but recall the ti we spent together. It felt... warm. Human emotions are indeed sothing we’ve never truly possessed. But you’re different. You’re like an observer. Though you experience emotions and live as humans do, I can tell... your heart isn’t bound by this world. Or perhaps, no one has ever truly reached the depths of your soul. I want you to teach . At the very least, help avoid Na’er’s influence when we rge."

Gu Yue walked along the seaside path, her eyes filled with sorrow and uncertainty. There was a hint of pleading in her gaze as she looked expectantly at Bai Xu.

Bai Xu was silent for a long mont before sighing and stepping forward. He leaned against the railing, gazing at the sea. "Emotions are elusive. They’re the bonds between people, but also the trials you must endure to integrate into human society. Emotions are the subjective experiences humans have when their needs are t—or unt—by the world around them. Your current conflict arises because you’re experiencing these things firsthand. Every action, every event, enriches your emotional spectrum, shaping who you are. But this is only temporary. After a hundred years in the human world, after experiencing joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, after watching all your friends and loved ones pass away, what remains is loneliness."

He turned to face Gu Yue. The sea breeze tousled his hair, revealing a solemn yet sincere expression. "In your hundreds of thousands of years of existence, you must understand your role, clarify your purpose, and hold fast to your convictions. Just like in this fleeting human life, countless soul masters persist in their cultivation. So do it out of duty, so for love, and others for the pursuit of greater strength. Gu Yue, it’s alright to be lost for a while, but not forever. Stand firm in what you believe is right. Shoulder your responsibilities and see them through to the end. That is the path of Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King. Once you grasp this truth, whether Na’er returns or not won’t sway you."

Gu Yue’s eyes widened slightly, glistening with unshed tears. For the first ti, she revealed her most vulnerable side.

It felt as though soone had illuminated a path for her in the boundless darkness of the ocean, guiding her forward with unwavering certainty.

She stood frozen for a long ti, lost in thought, before finally nodding firmly at Bai Xu, as if everything had beco clear.

She left, her steps light. Even if fate conspired against her, even if divine kings plotted in the shadows, even if the weight of her responsibilities crushed her shoulders—even if a single misstep ant plumting into an abyss—she had chosen to embrace her duty as the leader of the soul beasts and restore their glory.

But after walking a dozen ters, she paused and turned back, a faint smile on her lips. For a mont, she looked like nothing more than a curious ten-year-old girl.

"What about you?" she asked.

Bai Xu chuckled. "My path lies elsewhere. If you ever regain your full strength, you’ll see that day for yourself."

"Thank you."

"No need. Just rember to give more Life Gold!"

At his teasing words, Gu Yue pouted and muttered sothing under her breath—too soft for Bai Xu to hear—before finally walking away.

Bai Xu spread his arms wide, embracing the sea breeze, savoring this mont of freedom. After his impromptu therapy session, the Silver Dragon King’s resolve had solidified. At the very least, she wouldn’t waver as she had in the original tiline.

Yet even with her determination, she still wouldn’t be able to kill Tang Wulin. Between Tang San’s spiritual imprint and the Douluo Planet’s will, Tang Hao, the odds were stacked against her. Unless she regained her full strength, Tang Wulin was untouchable.

So what was Bai Xu’s goal?

His sches had long been set in motion.

"In this life, I aspire to beco the true moon—erging from the heavens, dancing among the clouds, illuminating past and present, walking atop the infinite darkness of the cosmos."
