Extra Chapter: On Every 50 powerstones

"Hurry up and say what you need to say. I barely managed to sneak out from Sea God Island. If I’m discovered, it’ll definitely cause an uproar," Na’er said.

Gu Yue and Bai Xu exchanged a glance, nodded, and then stepped forward. Gu Yue spoke first: "Na’er, compared to , you’re more like a human. But since neither of us won the previous bet, how about we make another wager?"

?

Na’er was puzzled. She glared at Bai Xu—this whole thing reeked of a setup. Did they really think she was that stupid? Just walking right into a trap? She narrowed her eyes warily. "This... looks like a trap to !"

But in the next mont, Gu Yue declared with confidence: "If I lose, after we rge, I promise to spare Tang Wulin’s life."

!!!

Instantly, Na’er’s eyes widened in shock. After three seconds of contemplation, she resolutely shouted: "I’ll take the bet!"

Bai Xu wasn’t the least bit surprised by her reaction, but Gu Yue’s lips twitched in exasperation. One second ago, she was calling it a trap, and the next, she was agreeing without even hearing the terms.

With a sigh, Gu Yue said, "Don’t rush. Listen to the conditions first."

"Go on!"

"I’ll seal your martial soul, leaving you with talent comparable to Xie Xie’s. Didn’t you say you’re human? If you can protect everything here, maintain the sa closeness with those around you, if your master and his wife still treat you the sa, if your brother still cares for you as he does now—then I lose. It’ll prove that human emotions truly surpass my expectations. Otherwise, I win. How about it?"

Na’er was stunned, frozen in place. Her mind was in chaos.

Was this even a challenge?

She had no doubt her master and his wife would remain the sa. She trusted her brother would, too.

See? Not every gambler loses forever. Not every bet ends in tears!

She would win.

"Deal!" Na’er agreed without hesitation, then glanced at Bai Xu.

Bai Xu smirked wryly, his gaze as if he could already see Na’er’s future.

"Then it’s settled," Gu Yue said, stepping forward.

The two embraced, and a partial transfer of their essence took place. Much of Na’er’s talent was stripped away. Her martial soul, the Silver Dragon Spear, was downgraded to an ordinary dragon spear. Even the deep violet hue of her eyes dulled slightly.

anwhile, Gu Yue’s ink-black pupils gained a faint purple tint, and her hair turned half-silver, half-black, adding an enigmatic allure to her appearance.

As they were leaving, Bai Xu suddenly paused and turned back. With rare sincerity, he said, "Na’er, you keep insisting you’re human, that you understand human emotions. But tell —who in this world truly comprehends human nature? Even humans themselves don’t. If you experience the highest peaks and the lowest valleys, and reflect deeply, you’ll gain much from it. But if you fail to understand... you may never overco the barriers in your own heart."

Na’er stiffened but said nothing, her figure vanishing into the night.

"Was that too much?" Gu Yue asked.

"No. Perhaps Yun Ming and Ya Li won’t change. Perhaps Tang Wulin won’t either. In the end, she will be the one who changes."

Having witnessed the beauty of human nature, she would soon face its ugliness. A fallen genius is no longer a genius.

Back when the Fla Emperor hit rock bottom, he endured countless storms. But here, in the fiercely competitive inner court of Shrek Academy, the trials would be even harsher. In the end, she’d be left battered, like a holess beggar.

Bai Xu had no faith in Na’er pulling off so dramatic reversal.

She lacked the temperant for it. And her master was no dicine Elder.

In a low voice, Bai Xu murmured, "Let’s wait and see. Soon, Shrek Academy may no longer be so peaceful."

---

"Before today’s lesson begins, I have two announcents. First, all committee mbers must report the number of students in your respective majors to the corresponding associations after class. Joining is optional, but those who do will receive preferential policies. If you don’t join, you’ll have to pay contribution points for access to secondary vocational training. Today’s class will be taught by Instructor Wu. Let’s give him a warm welco!"

"Class dismissed. Monitors, stay behind."

Tang Wulin, Gu Yue, Bai Xu, and Wu Sisuo remained.

"You’ll report to the various academy associations for registration. Additionally, you’re responsible for dividing the remaining students into groups based on their secondary professions—forging, design, manufacturing, and repair. There are only eight blacksmiths, so excluding Tang Wulin, we have seven. Thus, we’ll form seven groups. Ensure each group’s overall strength is balanced. Here are the enrollnt records, detailing each student’s secondary profession rank, soul power level, and martial soul. Discuss and finalize the groupings."

Bai Xu: "..."

Sure enough, his own entry read:

Martial Soul: Heavenly Eye, tal Attribute Control

Secondary Profession: None | Rank: 0

Soul Power: 41

The four of them fell into silence as they reviewed the records. Aside from Gu Yue, both Tang Wulin and Wu Sisuo cast surprised glances at Bai Xu.

Finally, Tang Wulin broke the silence.

"Since this is our first ti working together, I’ll start."

He had a natural leadership presence, striving to balance each group’s strength. But Bai Xu’s extre imbalance created a problem.

No matter which group he was placed in, his presence would skew the balance too far. Without a battle armor or cha, even without using his martial soul, his combat prowess was overwhelming. If he did use it, the gap would only widen.

In the end, to maintain fairness, Bai Xu was placed in a group by himself.

He simply said, "No problem. I don’t mind."

Once the groupings were finalized, the four dispersed.

---

Night fell.

The dormitory area for working students was utterly silent.

Xie Xie opened his eyes and glanced at Tang Wulin, who was deep in ditation on the adjacent bed. Under the flow of soul power, Tang Wulin’s body radiated a dense aura of bloodline energy—a vitality so intense it was almost tangible.

Slipping out of bed without disturbing Tang Wulin or Xu Xiaoyan behind the curtain, Xie Xie stepped outside.

The cool night breeze brushed against him, carrying an indescribable sense of tranquility.

He looked up at the sky, his eyes flickering with complex emotions.

Back at Eastsea Academy, he had been a top-tier genius. But here, he was like a small fish in an ocean, unable to make even a ripple. No matter the subject, he couldn’t excel. He wasn’t even confident he could defeat Tang Wulin now—despite being a three-ringed soul master to Tang Wulin’s two rings.

During the class monitor elections, Tang Wulin had even defeated the four-ringed genius Xu Yucheng.

Even mastering the Tang Sect’s Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track had only happened under Elder Cai’s guidance. This sense of inadequacy... most people wouldn’t be able to handle it. It could crush a person’s spirit entirely.

He couldn’t see a path forward.

"Hm? Bai Xu?" Xie Xie spotted a figure sitting beneath a tree, so still he seed to blend into nature itself, exuding an air of transcendence.

Bai Xu opened his eyes. "Xie Xie. It’s ."

Rising from his ditative state, he asked, "What are you doing out here at this hour? Can’t sleep?"

"Yeah. My mind’s restless. I wanted so air. Didn’t expect you to be cultivating out here. Sorry for interrupting. You and Wulin are both so driven, always pushing toward your goals." Xie Xie’s voice carried a tinge of lancholy. To him, Bai Xu was an insurmountable mountain—no matter how hard he tried, he could never catch up.

As Bai Xu turned to leave, their shoulders brushed. Suddenly, Xie Xie blurted out: "Bai Xu... can I talk to you?"

"Talk?" Bai Xu raised an eyebrow. Since when did everyone want to chat with him?

But he didn’t refuse. "Sure."
