In the city of Rose, it was already afternoon. People filled the roads, each searching for food to satisfy their empty stomachs. Since the carnival was approaching, many new food stalls had opened, trying their luck in the trade as the number of people increased day by day.

So stalls and restaurants were packed with custors, overflowing onto the streets or with long queues stretching down the road. anwhile, so stalls remained empty, their owners questioning if they could keep the business going.

Nyum nyum nyum

The sound of eating echoed from one of the stalls in front of the guild headquarters. Three figures sat busily eating.

, Bob, and Linus.

"Another bowl of Special Spicy Noodle!" Kim arrived, carrying another steaming bowl.

"Thank you, Kim. God, your noodles are really delicious. I can’t get enough of them," Bob said, pushing aside his second bowl and starting on his third. His glasses were fogged up from the heat of the noodles.

Bob wasn’t wrong. Kim’s noodles were very similar to those in our world, maybe even better. The noodles were soft and evenly cut, the spice level was perfect, and the owner didn’t hesitate to pile on generous portions of chicken and at. Everything was just right. If this existed in our world, it would’ve gone viral for sure.

Beside us, a few other custors sat at the remaining tables. The stall itself was quite simplistic, its walls made of wooden planks, while the tables and benches were crafted from cut bamboo, tied neatly together.

Kim sat beside and looked at . "Alan, you’re still joining the guild even though you have no class?"

"Yes, I already told you before, I’ll still beco an adventurer and work my way up," I said, my mouth still full of food.

"Swallow your food first," Kim said.

I swallowed my food and took a sip of milk tea.

"I heard you still haven’t chosen your class? When will you do it?"

Kim sighed.

"The three classes I have are considered useless in the guild. Even if I work hard, it’s nearly impossible for to go far in the dangerous world of adventurers. So, I decided to stay here and help my father. Soon, I’ll inherit this stall," he said as he gestured around the place.

"But isn’t one of your classes Acolyte? I think that’s a good support class," Bob chid in. We’d learned the basics of class roles from Maya.

Support classes belong to the Spiritual type. They’re a vital part of any party during a quest, mainly because they help keep everyone alive.

Support roles are generally divided into buffers, debuffers, healers, and occasionally so with offensive capabilities.

Still, many adventurers dislike the idea of being in a support class, since it doesn’t gain as much recognition as vanguards or mages.

But regardless, support classes are extrely important.

Kim scoffed.

"If I planned to beco an adventurer only to play the role of a support class, I might as well work as a servant or bag carrier for so noble. At least they pay better."

"I think you shouldn’t belittle support classes. Many famous adventurer parties have excellent support mbers who play vital roles. For example, Ronald of Seventh Heaven. I saw him once, and trust , he was astounding," Linus said.

"Seventh Heaven?" Bob and I said in unison.

Is that so kind of musical band or sothing?

"You two don’t know them?" Kim looked at us in disbelief. "They’re a very famous independent adventurer party! They rely solely on their own strength and refuse to join any guild. Many guilds across the continent have tried to recruit them, but it’s always been a failure. They’re basically living legends!"

So there are adventurers like that, free spirits who choose not to be bound by guild rules. Honestly, it sounds like an interesting life. To adventure and live freely without restrictions... that’s pretty appealing.

"You t one of them, Linus? Where and when?" Kim asked, practically leaning over the table like a reporter. His eyes still sparkling with excitent.

"I t them in the Draconic Empire... maybe around two or three years ago," Linus answered flatly, like he had just run into so old acquaintances.

Kim slumped a little. "Two or three years ago, you said...? So I really have no chance to et them."

"Not if you beco an adventurer," I said with a smile.

Kim looked at , his eyes wide.

"This world is vast. And as the na implies, adventurers are ant to adventure, to explore, to discover. There shouldn’t be any place an adventurer can’t go, right? You’ll see all kinds of towns, cities, and nations. You’ll et all sorts of people... and monsters. And one day, without even realizing it, you might just cross paths with Seventh Heaven. Only ti will tell," I said.

Honestly, when I looked at Kim, he reminded a lot of Bob. Both of them are seen as weak or unremarkable by society, yet deep down, they carry their own dreams. And honestly, I’ve always had a soft spot for people like that. I’ve always wanted to support them, just like I supported Bob back in our world, even if that ant going to concerts, lining up for idol signings, or diving headfirst into every otaku-related event we could find.

Kim was lost in thought, clearly digesting every word I said. His eyes were fixed on the wall in front of him.

"Forget about it, brat. You’ll just end up being a nuisance to others. And you, stop trying to brainwash him."

A harsh voice suddenly rang out from behind .

It was Hans, Kim’s father.

Kim imdiately stood up and started gathering the bowls and cups in front of us, then quietly made his way to the back.

Hans stepped closer to our table and leaned forward, lowering his voice but not the weight behind his words.

"If you brats want to go out there and throw your lives away as adventurers, be my guest. I couldn’t care less. But don’t go dragging others into your fantasy just because of so so-called ’adventurer spirit.’ If I ever hear you talk like that in this stall again, you can take your feet and never co back."

He gave us one final glare before walking off.

I imdiately gulped my saliva.

"Man, Kim’s old man is so strict and narrow-minded. I really don’t like people like that, always trying to control others’ lives. They’re the worst," Bob said as he picked his teeth with a toothpick.

I guess Bob said that based on his own mories. After his mother passed away, his father beca overbearing, always trying to control him, forcing him to do things he hated. And Bob used as a way to escape, claiming he wanted to work at the sa place as . But in reality, he was more like a parasite.

Every ti I scolded him or threatened to kick him out, all I had to do was ntion his father, and he’d turn obedient like a puppy.

Linus was still looking at Hans. His stare was long, focused. Like he was deep in thought about sothing.

"You alright, Linus?" I asked.

Linus slowly closed his eyes, then stood up.

"Yeah... I’m alright. I think we should get going. I want to report our quest."

We paid for the food and said goodbye to Kim, who was busy scrubbing dishes in the back.

As we made our way toward the guild HQ, Bob suddenly spoke up.

"This Red Condor quest... you’re the one who made it up, right, Linus?"

He looked at Linus with sharp eyes, like he was ready to fight.

Suddenly, the air turned tense.

What is he talking about?
