The wind was becoming stronger, making each drop of rain hit my face like bullets.

We were now on our way to Daisy Town. It had been an hour since we started walking.

"I think this is a bad idea," I said. My body was already shivering from the cold.

"It’s too late already. We just need to keep going," Bob said as he led our small group.

Every step I took felt heavy. Maybe because of the wind, or maybe because of the fight just now. The fatigue was accumulating.

As we continued walking... suddenly, we heard a sound behind us.

"Stop. I heard sothing," Linus said.

We all stopped and turned around. The heavy rain made the view limited.

I really hoped it was the carriage Ida ntioned earlier, because I didn’t want to walk anymore.

As the sound drew closer, we heard it more clearly. The sound of horse hooves, not just one, but many like a marching group. And then ca the sound of clanking of tal.

Linus then pulled his staff from his back, ready for battle. Bob and I did the sa.

The figures then erged, a man clad in armor, riding a horse, ca out from the misty rain and looked directly at us.

The three of us were surprised.

"Halt!" the man shouted. The sound of hooves stopped instantly.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" the man demanded.

My eyes caught sight of the black carriage at the center of the convoy. It must be a royal carriage, as I recall back my mory.

"Answer !" the man barked again, moving forward as the other guards began to surround us.

"We’re adventurers from the Dawnbloom Guild. We’re on our way to Daisy Town," Bob replied.

Inside the carriage, Princess Reika was curious why the carriage had suddenly stopped.

Githa beside her had already drawn her sword.

’Is it an enemy attack?’ she wondered.

Reika then called out to the guard. "What is happening out there? Why have we stopped?"

"It seems they encountered soone who claims to be adventurers from the Dawnbloom Guild," he replied.

"If that’s so, let them co with us," Reika said. She was happy to hear that, as her family had always forbidden her from mingling with adventurers. She had never interacted with one, although she really wanted to hear stories of their adventures.

"Please wait, Your Highness. Sir Llyod is interrogating them first."

As we were circled by a group of knights on horseback, Linus showed his badge to the one who looked like the leader. Bob and I also showed ours.

Sir Llyod then stopped circling us. "It seems you really are adventurers. Why are you walking at this ti? Are you heading to Daisy Town?" he asked.

"Yes, we’re on our way," Bob replied.

Just as the guard was about to say sothing, another guard approached and whispered sothing in his ear. Llyod looked back at us. "It seems you guys are good people or so I assu. Would you like a ride? We’re also heading to Daisy Town."

"Sure, of course," I replied. I couldn’t take walking in the cold any longer.

We then followed the man as we approached the carriage. From its window, which had just opened, we saw two won inside.

"Your Highness, these three n are confird the adventurers from the Dawnbloom Guild. They’re also headed to the sa destination," Sir Llyod said.

Githa looked at us and asked, "Why were you three walking? I heard that Prince Reid had rented carriages for your guild."

"Actually... sothing happened, and we were left behind," Bob replied, scratching the back of his head with an awkward smile.

Githa sighed, now visibly relaxed after seeing the badges from the three of us. She then turned to the woman seated in front of her.

"Do we really let them join us, Princess?" she asked.

Princess? Don’t tell this carriage carries the beautiful princess I saw last ti? My heart suddenly began to pound.

"Of course. They’re adventurers from our city’s guild. We should help them," Reika replied.

"But they’re adventurers. Just let them walk. This rain is nothing to them," Githa said, glancing at us. She clearly didn’t like adventurers, thinking of them as rude and rough.

"This woman..." Bob muttered under his breath, his face showing clear irritation.

I nudged his shoulder, not wanting him to cause a scene.

"That won’t do," Reika said again.

Then, she leaned her head out of the window, and I saw her. Like soone straight out of a fairy tale, a beautiful lady with a pure, radiant smile looked down at us. My heart instantly lted.

"Let them co and sit with us," Reika said, as she opened the carriage’s door.

The guard was caught off guard by the princess’s sudden gesture, while Githa quickly pulled the door closed again.

"No, Princess. If we are to bring them along, they must ride in the supply carriage," Githa said firmly, nodding to Sir Llyod.

Then, without another word, she shut the window.

Sir Llyod understood, then moved his horse. "Follow ," he said.

and the other two followed, still confused about what was actually happening.

As I walked, I glanced toward the princess, who now looked like she was frowning, as I can see a little bit of her face from the window.

"What are you doing, Princess? Do you want those three to be killed by Prince Reymond if he finds out you let them enter and ride with you? Besides, they’re adventurers. They usually have no manners, and they shouldn’t be seen beside you. Please think a little more about your position, Princess," Githa said firmly.

"I know that, but... I really want to have a talk with them. About their lives as adventurers. I’ve never t or spoken to any of them," Reika pouted, folding her arms and looking away toward the window.

Githa sighed. Seeing her princess like this really irritated her sotis. But as her assistant, and also as her guardian, she had to make sure the princess was safe from any danger, no matter what the princess was thinking, and no matter what it took.
