From the balcony on the second floor of the mansion, Azul was standing there, watching the battle happening below. He had been commanding all the monsters to gather here, and their numbers reached thousands.
Then, he saw a burning red-orange fla erupting in one area of the monsters. Suddenly, a sharp pain struck his head, making his vision blur and a flash of mories appear in his mind. He clutched his head with his right hand, while the other hand supported him on the rail.
"Wh-what was that...?" he muttered, breathing heavily.
In his mory he saw the sa fire, burning in the night. And he saw a silhouette of a woman, completely engulfed in fla.
After a few seconds, the pain faded. Azul stood straight again.
"Are you alright, Azul?" a voice spoke behind him.
He turned his head and saw a group of Communion, each of them wearing dark robes.
"It is nothing, s. Is the princess awake?" he asked.
"Yes. We already put her inside the barrier," s replied.
"Good. I need to speak to her."
As he walked past the Communion group, he suddenly stopped and looked toward the soldiers and adventurers fighting the monsters near the entrance of the mansion.
"How about we give our guests a little welco gift?" he said. Then he continued his walk toward the hall.
The Communion mbers understood what he ant. Ten of them jumped down from the balcony. Upon landing, they imdiately pulled out black-colored kunai and threw them. The kunai stuck into the ground. Instantly, pools of shadow ford, and from each shadow, a skull monster erged.
The skull monsters imdiately charged toward their intended targets, the humans who were already struggling against the thousand monsters.
"Everyone, go back to your station." s gave the order.
He was about to turn around when suddenly, a figure landed behind him, feet perched on the balcony rail. s looked at the figure. The man was holding a long golden spear, his eyes sharpened straight at him. A nacing, furious aura was emanating from him.
"Where is... MY SISTER?!"

Fwoosh! Fwoosh!
Mirinda continuously released waves of fla with every swing of her hand, blasting the enemies surrounding the group. Every monster that was struck was burned into crisp ash.
"It’s the Fla Queen!"
"Yeah! Go, Fla Queen!"
"Burn them all, Guildmaster Mirinda!"
The soldiers were cheering. They had been close to being overwheld before Mirinda arrived, but her presence instantly changed the flow of the battle.
"Fla Queen? Do they an the guildmaster?" I asked, confused. I had never heard that na before.
"Yes. That is her alias," Linus replied. "I heard she is the master of fla magic, the strongest in Rose City, maybe even in the whole region. She once burned an entire nation with her fire alone."
"No wonder she has a short fuse. It really suits her well," Bob said, still unable to forget our first eting with Mirinda.
"I think she only has a temper toward you, Bob," I replied. "Anyway, where the hell did Prince Reymond go? Did he really listen to the plan we discussed earlier today?" I continued.
Our initial objective was for , Bob, Linus, and Reymond to move together toward the mansion, since we were said to be the strongest personnel among everyone here. But from the very start of the battle, that brute had charged ahead alone. If he got injured before we even set foot inside the mansion, it could spell disaster for the whole plan.
"There! Hold on. Is he fighting the black-robed guys?" Bob pointed his sword toward the upper floor of the mansion. Linus and I looked and saw Reymond facing a group of black-robed enemies, the sa ones we had encountered multiple tis before.
"Shoot! We need to help him now. Those enemies are not pushovers. He can’t face them alone," I said. We moved to the other side of the battlefield, where the remnants of burned monsters lay scattered, and the sll of burned flesh filled the air.
We were just a few tres forward before we were forced to stop. Right in front of us, ten five-tre skull monsters were staring directly at us.
Before I even took a breath, one of them swung its arm, which had shaped like a blade toward us. We stepped back several steps.
"What is it this ti?" Bob was annoyed. I understood him. We still couldn’t make any real progress in this battle.
I fired a few shots toward one of them. It didn’t even budge, just stood there. My bullets hit the ribs, shattering them, but in an instant, the bones fully recovered, as if they never received any damage at all.
"These monsters... are they the sa like the ones we fought at the port?" Linus asked.
"Yeah, I think so. But why do they look different? Is it another species?" I asked.
But before we could get any answer, one of the skull monsters, the one that stood on four limbs or I could called it a tetrapod, raised its tail high toward the sky, then launched it down at us. We were forced to scatter from the attack.
---
The skull monsters also separated. One of the blade-skull monsters appeared beside Mirinda, who was now on the ground, preparing another spell. Mirinda was shocked by the sudden attack, but before the blade reached her, it struck a solid surface.
William arrived at the last mont, raising his axe above his head as he absorbed the montum. He gritted his teeth before activating his skill.
"Defensive Stance!"
Thump!
The blade-skull monster was pushed back by the impact, stumbling several steps. However, at the sa mont, a long sharp tail dropped toward William’s head as another tetrapod skull monster attacked him.
Crack!
A cracking sound echoed, and William saw a massive ice shard protecting him from above. The tetrapod skull pulled its tail back.
Beltimore walked casually toward them, holding a book in his left hand. A cold mist emanated from him.
"This really brings back mories, doesn’t it?" William smiled.
"Hmmm. How many years has it been since we last fought together?" Beltimore asked, adjusting his glasses.
"Ten years. Yes. A decade. How fast ti flies," Mirinda said with a smile as she tied her orange hair into a ponytail.
The three of them now faced three skull monsters, while another heavy armor skull joined the battle.
It was 3 versus 3. A veteran showdown.
"Looks like I don’t have a choice but to use these. I really thought I’d never have to again." William pulled over the glove on his right hand. The glove he always wore to hide things he didn’t want others to see. He raised his hand, revealing five rings, each with a unique design.
Then each ring began to shine.
"Now, it’s ti to get serious." William smiled confidently.
