Now reading: Chapter 108: Training Ends — Vegeta Arrives from Dragon Ball: A Life Without Regrets, a Action novel by NightShard2153.

Talking about lifespan, Goku glanced at Dr. Brief.

Others might not know it, but in the original tiline Dr. Brief and his wife had lived for a very long ti.

"Don't worry," Goku said casually. "You'll live a long, long ti. If it ever becos a problem, we'll just gather the Dragon Balls and wish for more years. Live a thousand if you want."

Dr. Brief stroked his mustache thoughtfully.

"A thousand years sounds exhausting… But if Shenron could turn back to eighteen, I might consider it. I could go flirting again!"

Goku's eye twitched.

"You're a grandfather…"

"Ah," Dr. Brief sighed. "You're right. Bulma would never allow it. She'd probably get jealous."

Goku: "…Let's change the topic."

He quickly shifted gears.

"The ship—you said so facilities aren't finished yet?"

Dr. Brief nodded.

"Audio optimization. Sound balance, echo control. Even in space travel, acoustics matter."

Goku waved his hand.

"It's fine. I just want to use the gravity chamber as soon as possible. Entertainnt can wait."

Dr. Brief frowned.

"Long training without recreation can drive a person mad."

Goku paused. That was true.

But he wasn't planning to live inside it full-ti.

"I'll only train during the day. When I take a break later, you can install music modules or whatever you like."

Dr. Brief relented.

"Alright. Oh—and I added a bathroom, kitchen, sanitation system, and a cryogenic storage room. Deep-space travel without supplies is suicide. Always stock food, water, and fuel."

"Got it. Thanks."

As Goku prepared to leave, Dr. Brief added casually:

"One more thing. I optimized it. The entire ship can compress into capsule size. When you land sowhere, you can just carry it in your pocket."

Goku sucked in a breath.

"Father-in-law… your brain is wasted on one lifeti."

The 100x Gravity Begins

Goku placed the new spaceship at Mount Paozu.

Compared to crude weight training, adjustable gravity was far more scientific. He even sent his old gravity chamber to the Lookout so Krillin and the others could benefit.

The next morning, after eating his fill, he stepped inside.

"Twenty tis gravity is nothing now… Let's try thirty."

The mont he activated it—

His body dropped like it was pinned beneath a mountain.

Muscles strained. Bones creaked. Breathing grew heavy.

"Just ten tis more and it feels like this… I'll start by adapting."

At first, every step felt like lifting the earth itself.

But Saiyan cells tore, regenerated, adapted.

One week later, he moved smoothly under 30x gravity.

Two weeks—he had fully adjusted.

Forty tis. Fifty.

The adaptation accelerated.

Two months later—

He could move freely under 100x gravity.

But he didn't ask Dr. Brief to build higher levels.

Pure gravity training had diminishing returns. Endless escalation wasn't wise—neither ntally nor physically.

He returned to a healthier rhythm:

Train properly. Eat properly. Sleep properly.

Two hours of gravity training daily—no more.

A Different Kind of Strength

Then the system issued a mission.

It reminded him of his previous life—

Dying with Raditz.

Gohan losing his father at four.

Chi-Chi raising children alone.

Seven years gone again after Cell.

For the first ti, Goku didn't skim the emotional part.

He thought about Chi-Chi.

About loneliness.

About responsibility.

Strength wasn't just about fighting.

It was about protecting what mattered.

When he saw the mission rewards—family ti directly boosting his potential and physical attributes—

He felt sothing unexpected.

Relief.

That day, Chi-Chi approached with Gohan carrying lunch.

"Papa!"

Goku scooped his son up and spun him around.

Then, in one smooth motion, he lifted Chi-Chi too.

She blushed fiercely.

"Goku! Put down!"

But Gohan laughed loudly.

"Papa can hold both of you!"

"Tomorrow," Goku grinned, "we're going on a picnic."

Gohan's eyes sparkled.

Chi-Chi hesitated.

"I thought you were busy training?"

Goku smiled warmly.

"Training matters. But so do you."

Her cheeks reddened again.

They ate together. Laughed together.

For the first ti, Goku consciously balanced both paths.

He trained his children playfully—like Master Roshi once did.

He picnicked with Chi-Chi.

He accompanied Bulma for late-night drinks and laughter.

He went shopping with Launch and Violet.

He swam with Snow alone at the seaside.

Strength of body.

Strength of bond.

Months passed quickly.

The Day Has Co

Finally—

The day Vegeta would arrive.

Goku stood in the wasteland waiting.

System notifications flashed in his mind:

Mission 1 complete — Potential 50%.

Mission 2 complete — All physical attributes 50%.

Power surged through his blood like wildfire.

Krillin and the others arrived.

"Hey Goku!" Krillin grinned. "Heard you've been relaxing. Don't tell I caught up?"

Goku waved casually.

"I relaxed because I hit a bottleneck. Doesn't an I got weaker."

Raditz narrowed his eyes.

"Did you bring the scouter?"

"Nope."

"Ah, what a waste," Yamcha muttered.

Just then—

A familiar voice from the sky.

Bulma arrived, wearing the modified scouter, riding the Flying Nimbus.

"I detected soone with a power level of 18,000 approaching Earth," Bulma said excitedly. "Ca to watch the show!"

Raditz stiffened.

"If the scouter can detect them… then it's Vegeta."

At that exact mont—

Two space pods tore through the sky.

They crashed into the wasteland, explosions carving massive craters into the earth.

Dust rose.

Silence fell.

Goku's eyes sharpened.

"Right on ti."

The true battle—

Was about to begin.
