Now reading: Chapter 98 98: The Grand Priest and Zalama of the Ancient Er from Dragon Ball: Do I Even Have a Choice, a Action novel by DarkVerse.

After staying on that planet for a while longer, Zeru eventually left.

He had already seen Zeno and the two attendants—so what about the Grand Priest?

And what about the Dragon God, Zalama?

Would they appear as well?

"System, when can I choose to return to the Dragon Ball Super tiline?"

One day, after arriving on another planet, Zeru asked internally.

"Host may choose to return at any ti."

"I see."

Zeru nodded and began wandering around the planet.

Naturally, he had no intention of returning anyti soon.

First, this ancient era allowed him to witness many races and elents that he had only seen in his previous life's ani.

Second, he had yet to encounter the Grand Priest and Zalama. Without seeing them, it felt like sothing was missing.

So he continued exploring.

Several more months passed in the blink of an eye.

On this day, as Zeru stepped out of his residence, a hint of excitent appeared on his face.

"Host: Zeru

Bloodline: Ultimate Saiyan

Realm: God Domain (100%)

Base (Super Saiyan 5): 6,500 Gai battle power

Abilities: 15x No-Side-Effect Kaioken, Upgraded Instant Transmission, Erasure Ability (Platinum Tier), Ti Stop (5 seconds), 65.5% Attribute Reduction Chance, Second Stage Ultra Instinct, Creation Ability (Platinum Tier)

Items: Combat Robot Chamber, 20,000x Gravity Room, 20x Ti Flow Hyperbolic Ti Chamber"

This was the result of his recent training—even though it hadn't been particularly intense.

His growth wasn't as explosive as before, since his "base form" was now already equivalent to Super Saiyan 5.

Still—

An increase of several hundred Gai was nothing to scoff at.

Rumble!!!

At that mont, a deafening explosion echoed across the sky, instantly drawing his attention.

"Oh?"

Zeru looked up.

In the sky above—

Various races were locked in battle.

Angels.

Frost Demons.

Nakians.

And many more.

"Hmm… this isn't simple."

His gaze shifted—

And he spotted a familiar figure among the Frost Demons.

"Korold… huh?"

Zeru raised a brow.

"That guy's power… oh? He's already reached 10 Gai? Not bad—he's grown fast."

But compared to Frieza, who could jump to absurd levels in months, Korold's progress was still nothing special.

Then—

Zeru's eyes narrowed.

"That's… the Grand Priest?"

"And that one… could it be Zalama?!"

His expression turned interested.

One of them had two horn-like protrusions and resembled a younger version of the Grand Priest.

The other—

A massive, muscular giant, over four or five ters tall.

"That must be Zalama…"

Zeru muttered.

Compared to ordinary beings, Zalama looked like a towering titan.

"Zalama! The Frost Demon clan is yours! I'll handle the Nakians!"

A voice rang out.

"Got it!"

A deep voice responded.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions echoed continuously.

Hearing their exchange, Zeru's his gaze sharpened.

So—

The Grand Priest and Zalama had a close relationship?

"Interesting… rumors really can't be trusted. Seeing it yourself is what matters."

He smiled.

Rumble!!!

Another explosion shook the sky.

After a brief pause, Zeru slowly ascended.

At that mont—

Korold, who was fighting Zalama, caught sight of him.

His face changed drastically.

"It's him…"

He would never forget Zeru.

That man—

Was far too terrifying.

"Who is that?"

Zalama frowned, noticing Korold's reaction, and turned to look at Zeru.

"Such power…"

The mont he saw him, those words surfaced in his mind.

Boom!

Their brief distraction caused both of them to take direct hits, sending them flying.

"Long ti no see, Korold!"

Zeru waved with a smile.

"You—stay back!"

Korold's expression changed as he instinctively retreated.

"What?!"

Both Zalama and the Grand Priest were stunned.

"This man… who is he?!"

"Why is the Frost Demon king so afraid of him?!"

"He's incredibly strong!"

Everyone in the sky was shocked, trying to guess Zeru's identity.

"...A Saiyan?"

The Grand Priest narrowed his eyes.

He had already recognized Zeru's race.

And that made it even more shocking.

Saiyans—

Weren't supposed to be this powerful.

"Why are you so scared of ?"

Zeru chuckled.

Then his gaze shifted between Zalama and the Grand Priest.

"Hey, you two—what are your nas?"

"Zalama."

"Kapul."

They answered after a brief pause.

"…Kapul?"

Zeru almost burst out laughing.

Zalama's na didn't surprise him.

But the Grand Priest's na—

Was hilariously plain.

No wonder it was never ntioned in the original story.
