Now reading: Chapter 16 16: Preparing to Leave the Hyperbolic Time Chambe from Dragon Ball: I Became Cell in a Doomed Future, a Action novel by theon.

The second phase of their modifications had long been completed. Over the past month, Levos and Bulma had been focused entirely on battle training to adapt to their new android bodies.

Levos noticed that as he beca more familiar with his body, the power of his energy blasts had skyrocketed.

His physique had also started to change, subtle muscle definition began to erge.

Though it wasn't the explosive, muscle-bulging form like Goku or Vegeta, it was enough to significantly boost his strength.

This discovery thrilled him.

He had always thought that androids couldn't improve through training, that once they were built, their power was fixed.

But that was clearly an outdated misconception.

Back in the Tournant of Power arc, Android 17 had ntioned that his strength had increased through years of sparring with the miniature Cell Juniors.

And he survived until the very end of the tournant, making a huge contribution.

After all, if he hadn't reached a comparable level of power, he would've been eliminated in the early rounds like cannon fodder.

Levos now confird that just this short period of training had already noticeably improved his own strength. Perhaps part of this was thanks to Bulma's refinents to the android technology.

He found that his android body was even more mysterious than he had imagined, there was still so much to uncover.

What surprised him even more was that during his energy beam clashes with Bulma, he could clearly sense that both of them were getting stronger with each battle.

As the lead engineer behind their modifications, Bulma explained that as their bodies adapted to their android systems or as their physical conditioning improved, their energy output capacity would also increase.

She also pointed out that their maximum energy output would continue to rise as their strength grew, eventually surpassing their energy regeneration speed and breaking the illusion of having "infinite energy."

But that concern was still a long way off.

They had only just begun their training, and reaching the upper limit of their android bodies would take a long ti.

Levos estimated that they would have to reach a power level on par with Lightning Cell before they'd even approach that threshold.

Even so, he was already more than satisfied with their current strength.

Besides, by the ti they reached that point, he wouldn't just be spamming energy beams in prolonged battles.

Close-combat training needed to beco a top priority, fast.

"Levos, toss so clothes!"

Bulma's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

Levos didn't feel like running back to the house, so he simply took off his white dress shirt and tossed it to her.

After nearly two years of living side by side, most of which they had spent either in combat or in recovery pods, the formalities and awkwardness of their first eting had long since disappeared.

Whether their relationship had crossed the line into sothing beyond camaraderie was unclear, but what they did have was genuine battlefield trust.

Lending her a shirt? No big deal.

Bulma reappeared monts later, wearing the oversized n's dress shirt.

It was big enough to cover the essentials, but nowhere near enough to hide her curves or the rhythmic sway of those deliberately enhanced features she'd shalessly modified during their earlier upgrades.

Each step she took made Levos feel dizzy.

The shirt was thin to begin with, and he could vaguely see the shape of her figure through the fabric.

Her long, slender, porcelain-white legs were on full display.

Levos imdiately slapped his hand over his face. Nope, I didn't see anything. I didn't see anything!

The style, the contrast! It was miles apart from her usual serious, professional look in her white lab coat.

Can't look! Nope! Absolutely can't look!

As she passed him, Bulma stomped her foot, flushed with embarrassnt and anger.

"Levos, the gap between your fingers is wide enough to fit the entire galaxy!"

"..."

Before he could retort, Bulma bolted back into the house, leaving Levos frozen in place.

The galaxy, huh… if only rus could train . That would be great.

He wiped the nosebleed that had sohow appeared and clenched his fist in determination.

I have to get stronger!

There was less than a month left in the Hyperbolic Ti Chamber.

For Levos, nearly two years had passed since he first crossed into this world.

Two years… it really flew by.

He couldn't help but sigh. Despite his incredible progress and the leaps he'd made as an android, he still felt a gnawing sense of helplessness.

Even now, his strength was nowhere near enough to stand against the villains of the Dragon Ball world.

Right now, Dabura stood before him like an insurmountable mountain.

Let's not even talk about Broly or Moro, those two were on another level entirely.

He had no idea how strong the old-school Broly had beco in this tiline, but Moro was a confird nightmare.

In the original story, Moro had to be stopped by rus sacrificing himself to seal away Moro's most critical abilities.

And even then, it took Goku, in his perfected Ultra Instinct form, fully empowered by the Grand Supre Kai's divine energy, to finally defeat him.

Right now, Levos's strength was probably just a bit above Future Trunks when he first traveled through ti, around mid Super Saiyan level.

The gap between him and Ultra Instinct Goku? Probably several entire dinsions.

When it ca down to it, Moro was simply operating on a completely different patch.

Levos knew there was no point in staying inside the Hyperbolic Ti Chamber any longer.

Yes, his growth rate had been impressive.

Yes, he'd successfully mastered the Kahaha, Special Beam Cannon, Destructo Disc, and a slew of other energy techniques.

But the real limitation was ti.

Trying to catch up to Dabura's level in this short window was pure fantasy.

Even Goku and the others needed years of life-or-death battles to evolve from Super Saiyan to Super Saiyan 2.

Without anyone to guide him, Levos knew it would be nearly impossible to improve his close-combat skills.

The only way to beat Dabura in a head-on fight would be to weaken him directly.

Weaken him directly…?

Levos's eyes suddenly lit up, he might have just found a new strategy.

But how could he reduce soone else's power level?

In Dragon Ball history, there weren't many instances of that ever happening.

There were a few cases where soone suppressed their own power level, but actual power reduction? That was rare.

Wait, there was one.

The battle between Ginyu and Goku on Nak.

Back then, Ginyu had a power level of 120,000, but he couldn't handle Goku, whose power had reached 180,000 with Kaioken.

So Ginyu resorted to his Body Change technique, swapping bodies with Goku.

But the swap drastically dropped Ginyu's effective power to just 23,000!

Part of that was because Ginyu couldn't use Kaioken, but mostly, it was because he simply wasn't compatible with Goku's body.

Later, when Ginyu tried to swap bodies with Vegeta, he ended up switching with a Nakian frog instead.

And when Porunga evacuated everyone off Nak before its destruction, Ginyu (now in frog form) got sent to Earth with them.

He lived out his life on Earth as a frog until the Resurrection of Frieza arc.

When Frieza returned, Ginyu swapped bodies again, this ti with Tagoma, and grew even stronger.

After telling Frieza his tragic story and showing off his new pre-battle pose, he was finally killed by Vegeta, granting Vegeta a long-overdue revenge.

Now Levos was wondering, was Ginyu still alive in this tiline? Still weak and miserable?

If he could sohow convince Ginyu to take over Dabura's body, that might be the perfect way to deal with the Demon King!
