A handso, imposing man appeared directly in front of the demon, his palm pressed against its eyes.
"Destruction."
It sounded like a divine chant.
A violet radiance blood in Gran's hand. Under its annihilating force, the black smoke shrouding the demon rapidly dissipated.
What lay beneath—
Was a skeleton.
But not an ordinary one.
Its entire body was covered in jagged spikes, and its skull resembled that of a crocodile… yet not quite. From the center of its head protruded a long, vicious horn.
As the black smoke vanished, the skeleton itself began to disintegrate.
"ROOOAR!!!"
The demon let out a heart-wrenching howl.
When that sound reached the ears of the planet's inhabitants, the despair in their hearts was instantly ignited into hope.
"We're saved!!"
"Who is that?! He's incredible!!"
"Thank you, my lord, for saving us!!"
"..."
Their cries reached Gran's ears, but he paid them no mind.
He simply swept his gaze across the surroundings.
With the demon's disappearance, the violent, malevolent aura had completely dissipated.
Clearly, this planet had only harbored a single such creature.
"It's dealt with. Let's go."
Gran withdrew his gaze and prepared to fly back into space with Broly.
Suddenly.
A squad of ten figures descended from the starry sky.
Their auras were all incredibly powerful—each roughly at a power level of five billion.
The one leading them was even more formidable.
His aura had reached the First Stage of the God Realm.
"Hm? It's Lord Gran!"
The leader recognized him instantly. He quickly landed before Gran and bowed respectfully.
"Greetings, Lord Gran!"
"?"
Gran frowned slightly.
He didn't recognize these people.
However…
He did recognize their race.
Saiyans.
Their golden hair made it obvious—they were all in Super Saiyan form.
As for the leader—
His long hair flowed down to his waist, arcs of lightning crackling around him.

"Lord Gran, don't you rember ?"
The Super Saiyan 3 spoke:
"My na is Jim. Half a year ago, we sparred at the Destroyer's Realm."
"Jim?"
The na didn't ring a bell at first.
But after a mont of thought, sothing clicked.
"You're one of Universe 6's candidate Gods of Destruction?"
Before the great battle among candidate Destroyers, Gran had accompanied Champa to Universe 6 to recruit Hit.
At that ti, he had sparred with all of Champa's candidates—
And this Saiyan had been one of them.
However…
Gran looked Jim up and down again.
He wasn't wearing the attire of a candidate Destroyer anymore, but rather traditional Saiyan battle armor.
"Aren't you a candidate God of Destruction? Why are you wearing—"
Before Gran could finish—
Jim let out a bitter smile.
"Half a year ago, after you led Hit to victory in that tournant, Lord Champa brought us back and had us undergo so dinsional training."
"After extending our lifespans a bit… he dismissed all of us candidates."
"He said our talent was too poor—that we weren't qualified to be his successors."
Jim's expression was filled with regret.
He had truly wanted that position.

Jim glanced around, frowning.
"We're part of the Rase Defense Force. Our sensors detected another one of those 'neither human nor ghost' monsters here, so we rushed over."

Gran knew of this defense force.
In Universe 6, Saiyans were righteous by nature.
They had even established an organization dedicated to protecting the galaxy.
But sothing Jim said caught his attention—
"Another?"
"Does that an this isn't the first ti such a creature has appeared in Universe 6?"
"That's right."
Jim clenched his fists.
"In the past six months, this is the second ti we've encountered one."
"These creatures are extrely powerful. Fortunately, they lack intelligence, so they're not impossible to deal with."
"I see…"
Gran's expression grew increasingly serious.
Jiren's master had been killed by such a demon.
Now both Universe 6 and Universe 7 were seeing their ergence.
He recalled sothing Whis had said earlier—
A bad premonition.
Could sothing truly be about to happen?
"I ca here to et Lord Champa, so I'll take my leave."
After a mont of thought, Gran gave a brief nod to Jim before flying back into space with Broly.
"We respectfully send off Lord Gran!"
Jim bowed once more.
Behind him, the other Saiyans hurriedly followed suit.
Only after Gran completely disappeared did they begin speaking:
"Lord Jim, who exactly was that person?"
"You were once a candidate God of Destruction yourself—was he really that strong? You even bowed to him like that…"
"..."
Faced with their barrage of questions—
Jim shot them an annoyed look, then sighed.
"I didn't want to bring up sothing so embarrassing… but I wasn't the only one who lost face."
He gazed up at the sky, eyes filled with admiration.
"That man… is also a candidate God of Destruction."
"But far stronger than any of us."
"Back then, all of Universe 6's candidates attacked him together—and we still couldn't defeat him."
