Now reading: Chapter 319 319: The Classification of Angel-Level Power from Dragon Ball: Summoning Whis at the Start, a Action novel by mxl1440.

Over the next few days.

As Beerus put it, life shouldn't be nothing but training. You had to actually enjoy it too.

So Gran began living like an ordinary Earthling.

Sleeping, eating, fishing for leisure… day after day.

He even played the role of a "dragon-among-n" protagonist a few tis—purely by accident.

While out wandering, he ran into robbers.

Not just any robbers, either—these were so of West City's most wanted criminals, pointing their guns straight at Gran, the candidate God of Destruction.

To him, though, it was nothing more than a small farce.

And strangely enough… he enjoyed it.

It reminded him of Gohan's "overpowered high school life."

Now it was his turn to put on a show.

Instead of wiping them out instantly, Gran played along—treating them like children in a mock ga.

Only after he got bored did he casually slap them out of existence.

The entire scene was caught on cara and broadcast on television.

The result?

Gran quickly gained a following across West City—especially among young won and housewives.

He had beco sothing of a local celebrity. Wherever he went, fans would rush over, begging for autographs.

Today.

Just as Gran was about to head out to the sea with his fishing rod (and inevitably get surrounded again), Whis called out to him.

In the courtyard, under a sun umbrella, Whis sat sipping tea. He gently set his cup down.

"Gran, co here for a mont."

Gran glanced over. Both Whis and Beerus were seated there.

He walked over. "What is it?"

"What do you an, 'what is it'?" Beerus looked up lazily. "You've broken through to the Angel realm. Aren't you curious how that level is divided?"

Gran's eyes lit up instantly. He sat down beside them.

"I actually wanted to ask that the mont I ca back… I've just been a bit busy lately—"

Before he could finish—

Whis twitched slightly, clearly unimpressed.

"Busy? You call that busy? You've just been showing off at every opportunity."

The term showing off was sothing Gran himself had coined—and lately, he'd beco addicted to it.

One day he'd stroll around in Super Saiyan 1.

The next, Super Saiyan 3.

Then Super Saiyan 4…

Whis was honestly speechless.

Though, considering Gran had spent years doing nothing but training, a little indulgence wasn't entirely unreasonable.

"You're wronging , Whis," Gran protested. "I'm just enjoying life. Beerus-sama told to."

Beerus rolled his eyes. "I said enjoy life—not turn it into so ridiculous 'overpowered protagonist' act. It's honestly hilarious."

"Hilarious?" Gran shot back. "I seem to recall Beerus-sama having a soft spot for cute girls too."

That instantly struck a nerve.

Beerus's eyes bulged. "You brat, slandering ?! Fight !"

"Fine, let's go! You think I'm scared?!"

"Co on, then!"

"Bring it!"

Just as the two were about to throw down—

Whis rubbed his forehead.

"Can you two not derail every conversation?"

He calmly poured them each a cup of tea.

"Now then—Angel-level power is divided into three tiers."

The mont those words fell—

Both Gran and Beerus imdiately sat back down, as if nothing had happened.

Gran leaned forward. "God-level power has seven tiers. Why does the Angel realm only have three?"

"Because the power at that level is too great to subdivide further," Whis explained.

He glanced at Gran, then at Beerus.

"The sa applies to realms beyond that. Take the Priest level, for example—it doesn't even have subdivisions. It's effectively a single tier."

"I see…" Beerus nodded thoughtfully.

Gran also nodded, deep in thought.

"Above the God realm," Whis continued, "each step represents a massive gap. And once you reach the Angel realm, those differences beco even more pronounced."

He took a sip of tea.

"For example, Gran—you're currently only at the early stage of the first tier. If you were to fight , you wouldn't stand a chance."

"Unless…" Whis paused.

Gran and Beerus spoke in unison:

"Unless what?"

"Hoho~" Whis chuckled, covering his mouth. "Unless you surpass in other aspects of martial arts."

Gran & Beerus: "..."

Was sothing wrong with this guy?

Who in the universe could surpass him right now?

Gran took a sip of tea, finally gaining a clear understanding of his current level.

Beside him, Beerus frowned slightly, seemingly deep in thought—perhaps about his own half-step into the Angel realm.

"By the way, Whis," Gran asked, "which tier are you at?"

Beerus perked up imdiately, ears practically twitching.

"I had planned to keep it a secret," Whis said, shaking his head, "but your growth rate is too fast. Even if I don't say it, you'll figure it out eventually."

He smiled faintly.

"That's right—I've reached the third tier."

The revelation hit like a tidal wave.

Even though Whis was the youngest among the official angels… he had already reached the third tier.

Calling Gran a monster?

Whis himself was no less terrifying.

"What about Vados? And Miss Kusu?" Beerus asked.

Whis sighed. "You two are quite the gossips."

Still, he answered.

"In the past, I wouldn't have told you—your strength simply wasn't enough. But now…"

He paused briefly.

"My sister Vados is also at the third tier."

"As for my eldest sister…" Whis fell silent.

The atmosphere froze.

Gran and Beerus held their breath.

"She has definitely surpassed the Angel realm," Whis said slowly. "As for her exact level… even I can't fully comprehend it."

Gulp.

Gran and Beerus swallowed hard.

Beyond the Angel realm… that ant Priest-level or higher.

That small, doll-like figure… was that terrifying?

"What about the other angels?" Gran asked.

"I haven't sparred with them in a long ti," Whis replied. "But they're all at least second tier or above."

"Oh, right—rus, whom you've t, is at the first tier."

"I see…" Gran finally had a clear picture of the universe's top-tier power structure.

"Gran," Whis added, "everything I ntioned refers only to raw power. Don't get the wrong idea—you're still far from catching up to the angels."

"I know," Gran replied calmly.

"I'm not that foolish."

"Your instinctive movent is at the fourth level. Your mindset is brushing the Angel level. Your destruction laws are at the first stage…"

Whis listed off Gran's abilities with perfect accuracy.

Gran's expression stiffened.

"…What are you planning?"

"Your power, instincts, and mindset have all recently advanced. Further improvent in those areas will take ti," Whis said.

"If you want to train next, I recomnd—"

"Stop!" Gran raised a hand quickly.

"What?"

"Just hearing the word 'training' gives a headache right now. Let's talk about that later."

He clutched his head dramatically.

It was Age 761.

In half a year, Vegeta and his group would invade Earth.

Then would co the Nak saga.

Whether events would unfold the sa way or not, Gran didn't know.

But he had made a promise to the Grand Elder of Nak—

If disaster struck, he would personally intervene.

That mont would likely co soon.

So for now… training could wait.

Beerus burst into laughter.

"So even you, training maniac, can get sick of training?"

"Beerus-sama, could you not talk?" Gran snapped. "No one thinks you're mute!"

"Looking for a fight?!"

"Bring it!"

"Enough!" Whis shot them both a look, and they imdiately quieted down.

"I'm not telling you to train now," Whis said. "Just giving you two directions."

"Alright, go on."

Whis raised two fingers.

"One—cultivate your mastery of Destruction."

"And the other…" He trailed off.

Beerus looked confused.

But Gran understood instantly.

Besides Destruction, he had already begun grasping another power—

Ti and space.

Whis was telling him to train both.

Gran's eyes widened. "…You knew?"

Whis didn't answer—only gave him a aningful look.

"What are you two talking about?" Beerus demanded.

"Beerus-sama," Whis said casually, "you might want to train seriously. Otherwise… you may not even see Gran's taillights in the future."

If Gran hadn't mastered space-ti power, he might only match Beerus.

But now…

That was no longer guaranteed.

Beerus rolled his eyes. "With his talent, isn't that normal?"

Then he added lazily, "If you want to train, you train with ."

"No thanks," Whis said imdiately. "There's still so much food on Earth I haven't tried. Training is far too painful."

"Then don't lecture !" Beerus grumbled, flopping back into his chair.

Whis casually pulled out a pudding from nowhere and began enjoying it.

Watching the two of them, Gran's eyelid twitched.

Which one influenced the other into becoming this lazy?

As the afternoon wore on, Gran quietly sipped his tea.

At the sa ti, he organized his thoughts.

A plan gradually ford.

After the Nak events, he would return to the God of Destruction's realm to check on Broly.

If Broly was stable…

Then it would be ti to raise Universe 7's ranking.

And that, ironically, was simple—

Just eliminate unqualified planets.

A task that also doubled as training in the laws of Destruction.

Two birds with one stone.

"…But still…"

Gran frowned slightly.

"I need to investigate those demonic creatures too."

Compared to everything else—

That was what truly unsettled him.

After all… even Whis had once said they gave him a bad feeling.
