Now reading: Chapter 72 72: The Mysterious Korin Tower from Dragon Ball: Summoning Whis at the Start, a Action novel by mxl1440.

Earth.

It was now Age 740, less than nine years before Bulma would begin her quest for the Dragon Balls.

In the Heavenly Realm

A Nakian who looked strikingly similar to King Piccolo stood at the edge of Heaven, surveying the mortal world below.

Beside him was a man with dark skin and a calm, unreadable expression.

"More than two centuries have passed,"

murmured Kami, the Guardian of Earth.

"The scars left by King Piccolo on this world have finally healed… it's just a pity about Master Mutaito."

Mr. Popo's eyes remained tranquil, his voice low and steady.

"Kami, separating yourself from King Piccolo was a mistake."

Kami sighed deeply.

"I know it was wrong… but if I hadn't separated from the darkness in my heart, I too would have beco a demon eventually."

His expression dimd with lancholy as he turned and walked back toward the Lookout Temple.

Only Mr. Popo remained, silent and still—his gaze unmoved, as calm as an undisturbed lake.

Suddenly

"...They're here?"

Popo lifted his head slightly, his gaze shifting toward the northern horizon—toward the Korin Tower.

In the Northern Forest of Earth

The towering white pillar known as Korin Tower pierced the clouds above.

Today, a strange group had appeared nearby—among them, a brother and sister, surrounded by beings whose very presence carried the oppressive aura of divinity.

"Gran, is this the place you ntioned...?"

Beerus asked lazily, still holding Champa by the scruff of the neck. But before he could finish..

"Hmm?"

Both Vados and Whis had noticed the tower, and their usually calm faces turned unusually serious.

"What's wrong with you two?" Beerus frowned.

"This tower… is intriguing," Whis murmured, eyes glinting as he gazed up the imnse structure that seed to touch the heavens.

Vados narrowed her eyes.

"Indeed. Especially those ancient carvings… I feel like I've seen them sowhere before."

Beerus and the Elder Kai exchanged bewildered glances.

What could possibly catch the attention of two angels—on this backwater planet?

Even Gran was taken aback. He hadn't expected their teleportation to drop them right next to Korin Tower.

In the ani, this tower had always been wrapped in mystery—no one knew who built it. Yet on it resided the legendary Korin, the Senzu Beans, the Sacred Water, and the Ti-Sealing Urn—each an enigma in its own right.

"There's no doubt this tower has a long history," Gran mused to himself, watching Whis and Vados.

"Could it be… the angels know sothing about it?"

Twenty minutes passed, and the two angels were still lost in thought.

Beerus finally groaned in irritation.

"Alright, enough staring. Can't we eat first and think later?"

Whis turned, half annoyed, half amused.

"You do nothing but eat all day. With how much you devour, I'm amazed you're not fat."

That line hit like a beam cannon.

The Elder Kai and his companions struggled to hold in their laughter—faces red, shoulders shaking.

Gran burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Whis sure doesn't pull punches!"

Beerus's face darkened instantly.

Bonk!

A sharp flick to the forehead landed squarely on Gran's skull.

"Ow! What was that for, Lord Beerus?"

"I can't hit Whis—but you, I can. Now stop fooling around and take us to this 'amazing food' you keep talking about!"

"Yes, yes, right away!"

Seeing that neither Whis nor Vados objected, Gran smiled sheepishly and activated his Instant Transmission, teleporting them all away.

Still, as the two angels left, they each glanced upward once more—feeling a subtle, watching presence sowhere above the clouds.

Back in the Heavenly Realm

Mr. Popo stood silently where he had been, eyes narrowing slightly as he withdrew his gaze.

"So that's what they ca for… food."

He shook his head and chuckled softly.

"A bunch of greedy little kittens."

West City, Earth.

A group of rather out-of-place individuals entered a local supermarket.

At the front was a boy, confidently instructing Kibito to grab eight cups of instant noodles.

"Lord Beerus, ti to check out," Gran said with a grin at the counter.

"Check out? What's that supposed to an?"

"It ans you pay for the food."

"Pay? I, the God of Destruction, paying for food in my own universe?!"

Beerus's expression twisted with disbelief as he dangled the unconscious Champa by the neck.

If anyone dared annoy him right now, he'd blow up the planet out of pure spite.

Gran rolled his eyes.

"Lord Beerus, paying for good food is the highest form of respect toward it."

"You…" Beerus opened his mouth to argue—but found no retort.

Co to think of it, Whis had once said sothing similar: whenever Whis enjoyed fine cuisine, his "paynt" was to train Gran in martial arts.

"Hmph. Fine. But if this so-called delicacy isn't worth it, I'll blow this planet to dust."

"Heh, if you can still say that after one bite, I'll call you a real man."

Beerus gestured to Whis, who waved his staff lightly.

In an instant, the register filled with thousands of Zeni, stunning the cashier speechless.

Gran led the group to a nearby park—no fancy restaurants this ti. He didn't want to spoil their palates too quickly.

Beerus dumped Champa unceremoniously on the grass, then kicked him twice.

"Wake up, you fat pig!"

"Mmm? Morning already?"

Champa yawned, stretching lazily—then froze.

Wait… hadn't that skinny skeleton punched him earlier?!

"Beerus! You damned!!"

Beerus: "..."

Everyone else: "..."

Gran quickly stepped in.

"Lord Champa, please calm down and try our Universe Seven specialty first."

Whis had already boiled water and poured it into the eight cups.

A rich, savory aroma filled the air—instant noodles at their most divine.

Champa's anger lted instantly, tears welling in his eyes as he sniffed the steam.

"W-What is this sll…?"

The entire park went silent.
