Inside Vegeta's spaceship, the air was thick with the scent of ozone and the hum of the gravity generators.
"No, I refuse to believe it! How can Super Saiyan 3 be related to Kakarot again?" Vegeta snarled, his fist slamming against the tallic hull. "It is about ti I took the lead!"
Even though Akira's tactical breakdown of the situation made logical sense, Vegeta's pride wouldn't allow him to accept it. Kakarot and that brat Gohan had already stolen the spotlight too many tis, reaching new heights while he played catch-up.
If the Prince of All Saiyans wasn't the one to pioneer this new form, where would his dignity be? He would rather believe that Super Saiyan 3 was a cursed transformation that shortened one's life than admit it was another milestone Kakarot reached first.
However, the video feed showed his future self and Gohan preparing for the World Martial Arts Tournant. If he had chosen to enter, it ant his strength was at least on par with the boy who defeated Cell. Vegeta's eyes narrowed. He didn't care for the title of champion, but the chance to crush Kakarot and his son was a different story.
Kakarot had been dead for seven years. Even with Other World training, how could he possibly compete with the Prince? Vegeta had the resources of the Capsule Corporation and his father-in-law's genius gravity tech. His training environnt was superior in every way. He was convinced that this ti, the gap would be closed.
As the tournant approached, Gohan stepped away from his studies to regain his fighting edge. While training with his younger brother, Goten, Gohan was stunned to witness the boy's raw talent. At only seven years old, Goten not only possessed incredible power but could effortlessly trigger the Super Saiyan transformation.
The training was briefly interrupted by Videl, who insisted Gohan teach her the Flying Technique. While they practiced the basics of Ki control, Vegeta and Trunks were pushing their limits in a 150x gravity chamber. Trunks struggled under the crushing pressure, and Vegeta, ever the stern father, told him to leave if he couldn't handle it. In response, Trunks simply turned gold.
Watching his son beco a Super Saiyan with such ease left Vegeta questioning his entire reality. This was the legendary warrior of Saiyan myth, a state he and Kakarot had bled and suffered to achieve. Now, seven-year-old children were doing it like it was a playground trick. Had the Super Saiyan form truly beco so common?
"The fact that Trunks and Goten can transform at such a young age is certainly a testant to their talent," the narrator's voice resonated across the multiverse. "But it is also a matter of biology. When they were conceived, Goku and Vegeta had already mastered the transformation. They inherited a high concentration of S-Cells, essentially receiving the Super Saiyan gene as a head start."
Across the dinsions, the audience watched in awe. In the pirate-filled seas of the Grand Line, Monkey D. Luffy tilted his head in confusion. "So they just get strong because their dads are strong? That's kind of lucky!" anwhile, Ye Hei and the master cultivators of his realm analyzed the "S-Cell" theory with clinical interest, noting how it mirrored the inheritance of Ancient Desolate Bodies.
The narrator continued, "Many view the Dragon Ball world as a realm governed purely by bloodline, but that is a misconception. Goku's existence didn't just utilize the Saiyan bloodline—it raised its upper limit. Even Gohan, who reached Super Saiyan 2 at age nine, wasn't just a product of heritage. If anyone fits the 'bloodline theory,' it is these two boys who inherited the fruits of their fathers' labor."
In Universe 6, Kale watched the screen with a mixture of hope and anxiety. "S-Cells? Is that what I'm missing? Do only the Saiyans of Universe 7 have them, or do we have them too?" She gripped her robes. Anger she could understand, but if she lacked the biological components, no amount of training would ever be enough.
Vegeta, watching the sa feed, felt a bitter irony. The genetic lock he and Kakarot broke on Nak had apparently opened the floodgates. If the legendary form was now "worthless" enough for children to use, he wondered if Super Saiyan 2 would soon follow suit.
The video shifted to the day of the tournant. Under Gohan's instruction, Videl had mastered flight, and the group gathered for the event. To protect his identity as the "Golden Warrior," Gohan suggested they all refrain from transforming. Vegeta and the others agreed, valuing the fair play of a base-form competition.
At the venue, a miracle occurred. Goku, dead for seven years, appeared with a halo above his head. The reunion was emotional; Krillin, Master Roshi, Bulma, and the others were moved to tears as their old friend returned to the world of the living. Goku also laid eyes on his youngest son, Goten, for the very first ti.
As they entered the grounds, they were greeted by a familiar face—the dedicated tournant referee. Having witnessed Goku and Krillin's growth since they were children, he was one of the few humans who knew the truth.
He knew Mr. Satan hadn't defeated Cell; he knew the power these warriors possessed. With the calm of a man who had seen everything, he even accepted Goku's halo without a second thought. He was a veteran of the martial arts world, and he knew the real show was about to begin.
