Chapter 312: We still need proof that you are a Hero, don’t we?
“You are very beautiful, Lavinia Dragonborn.”
The man praised openly. Lavinia, who heard that all of a sudden, was visibly taken aback. Of course, this wasn’t the first ti she had heard these words, but it was still very out of the blue.

Kael’s body suddenly acted on its own as he pushed the man away from Lavinia and stood in the middle of the two with his back facing Lavinia.
He then stared at the man who was pushed a few steps away and—

The man blinked in surprise.
It wasn’t just him—even Lavinia was taken aback by such a reaction. She stared at Kael’s back, confused.
“You… pushed .”
The man muttered, still in disbelief.
At those words, Lavinia’s expression changed. Before this took a worse turn, she tried to ddle with the situation.
“He didn’t wish to push you, it ju—”
“You pushed !”
The man raised his voice as his steel gray eyes shined in excitent.
Yes, excitent.
“You! You are much stronger than you look, aren’t you!?”
He shouted as he clenched his fists.
“I thought you were just so weak little boy, but a Hero is a Hero after all, isn’t he!? Hahaha!”
The man laughed heartily, and both Kael and Lavinia…
“…”
“…”
They just stared at this man with deadpan looks on their faces.
“Hero! You need to spar with ! No Bonds! Man to man, one on one, fair duel! What do you say!?”
He asked excitedly, and in an instant, whatever opinion Kael had of this man went to dust.
“…Excuse , but you still haven’t introduced yourself.”
Lavinia spoke carefully.
She prided herself in being able to read people, and right now, she decided to be careful around this man—not because he was intimidating, but because he was a reckless fool who only thought about battle.
Or at least, that was the impression Lavinia had of him from their little interaction.

After hearing Lavinia’s words, the man realized it as well and…

…he started laughing as he scratched the back of his head.
Once again, both Kael and Lavinia stared at each other, a bit confused. They had no idea why soone like him was sent to greet them on their first day.
Shouldn’t this be an important day where they were supposed to learn about Ashen Heights and its current situation? Shouldn’t it be done by soone who knows a thing or two? Why did they send soone like him?
There were too many questions in their heads, but suddenly—
“My na is Kayden Velmourn, the Heir to Ashen Heights.”
The man introduced himself. His words surprised Lavinia, and Kayden did not fail to notice that. He laughed as he scratched the back of his head and,
“Hahaha~ I am a sort of a Prince too…”
He said as he glanced at Lavinia.
Kael, on the other hand, just stared at the man in front of him with a shocked look on his face.
“You…
You are Kayden…”
He muttered as he finally recognized those white hairs.
Lavinia, who heard Kael’s words, frowned in confusion. Soon, however, she understood what he was talking about and was taken aback.
Kayden!
The man who jumped into the horde of Corrupted Beasts and sacrificed his life in one of Kael’s Visions.
He really exists!
Kael… his visions were indeed true!
Lavinia couldn’t believe it. Yes, she trusted Kael and was willing to follow his words, but seeing it happen right in front of her eyes still surprised her.
An ally Kael said they could trust! He was standing right in front of them!
Kayden, who noticed their strange expressions, frowned,
“Do you… perhaps know ?”
He was confused.
Soon, however, as if he realized sothing, his eyes shined,
“Do they know about even outside of Ashen Heights!? Hahaha! As I expected, they couldn’t just ignore , now could they!? Hahaha!”
He started laughing again.
“…”
And once again, Lavinia stared at him with a deadpan look on her face.
‘Can we really trust him…?’
She thought inwardly.
She was still skeptical.
“Well, now that you know , that makes things a lot easier, doesn’t it?”
Kayden smiled.
His eyes fell on Kael and burned with intense light,
“Let’s fight, Hero!”
He challenged.
“Are you sure this was why you were sent here? To spar with ?”
Kael questioned.
“Yes!”
Kayden nodded confidently.
“We still need proof that you are a Hero, don’t we?”
“Proof? I showed Ign—”
“Not your Bond. I—we need to see your ability.”
“Alright then.”
Kael nodded.
“Kael.”
Lavinia called out, trying to warn him. Kael just nodded at her and reassured her. Kayden too glanced at her and patted his chest.
“Don’t worry, Lavinia. I will be careful. Just trust .”
He then extended his four fingers proudly and,
“Plus, Ashen Heights has a total of four Healers, so everything will be fine even if it is not fine. You don’t have to worry about him.”
‘He is not the one I am worried about.’
Lavinia wanted to say that out loud. For now, she decided to stay silent and trusted that Kael would go easy on him.
The Hero and the Princess stared at each other one last ti before they allowed Kayden to take them to the ‘stage he had prepared for them.’
