"...Kael."

"...Father."

"...Father."

"Father!"

Kael was jolted awake as he heard his children call him. In an instant, his blurry vision cleared up as his eyes fell on his children, Lavinia and her Spirits surrounding him.

"I..."

His mind was still hazy, so he couldn’t exactly form any sentences. However, as his mind began to clear up, he started to rember where he was before and what happened.

"I was in Everveil..."

He muttered softly.

"I realized the truth, confronted Reynara, saw her mories, and then Vita...

Vita!"

Suddenly, Kael’s expression changed as he looked around in panic.

He raised his voice, but then—

"I am alright, Father."

Vitaria, who was standing right next to Igni with Imperia sitting on top of her head, answered in an unusually mature voice.

"Vita..."

Kael heaved a sigh of relief as he glanced at his child. This action only made Vita smile lightly.

"Do you sense any changes in your body?"

The Fox questioned with a curious look on her face.

"Right, the reward..."

Kael muttered. It had montarily skipped his mind because Vita was much more important. Without waiting, he activated his system to see his status and—

[Na: Kael Carter]

[Mana: 222 -> 267]

[Intelligence: 157 -> 173]

[Charisma: 162 -> 188]

...

’So Mana, Intelligence, and Charisma, huh...’

Kael muttered inwardly.

He sowhat expected this. Since the Trial was related to Illusions, it wouldn’t have any impact on physical stats.

However, he still had a few questions in his head. As if knowing that, Vitaria simply stepped forward and—

"Why don’t you try casting Illusion?"

She suggested.

"Here?"

Kael raised his eyebrow in doubt.

After all, he was back in Nerathis. Even though he had learned how to access his own Mindflow, he still needed ti to expand his vision, sense soone else’s Mindflow, and alter their perception.

"Yes, here."

Vitaria, however, just smiled lightly.

She seed confident.

In the end, Kael decided to trust his daughter and closed his eyes, trying to access his Mindflow. It was sothing he had practiced quite a lot, and at this point, he knew he was going to fail a few tis before he actually entered that state,

But suddenly—

His surroundings changed as he tapped into his own surroundings on his first try.

’W-What...?’

He blinked in surprise.

This...

This was as easy as it was back in Everveil.

’How...?’

Kael couldn’t believe it. The surprises, however, did not end there. He tried expanding his senses and this ti, he could see it clearly.

The Mindflows of every being present here: Igni, Cirri, Imperia, Nyrrion, Lavinia, and even Vitaria.

It was sothing that didn’t happen before.

He was even able to access Lavinia’s Mindflow and inject an image in her head, creating a basic illusion.

"Did you see it?"

He questioned as he glanced at Lavinia.

"The Black Apple? Did you create it?"

Lavinia questioned back and Kael nodded, still a bit surprised that he managed to do it. Sure, it was the most basic illusion that Lavinia could have resisted if she wanted to, but still, he was able to create it as easily as he could back in Everveil.

"How...?"

He muttered out loud.

"You did receive the reward, didn’t you?"

Vitaria chuckled softly.

"The Echo of Everveil?"

Kael tilted his head, a little unsure.

"That is correct."

Vitaria nodded.

"What is the Echo of Everveil, really?"

He questioned. He still did not know what it actually was.

"It was Reynara’s last remaining energy that created Everveil, and because you absorbed that energy, your Mindflow has changed permanently, making it easier for you to cast Illusions."

The Fox explained.

"Reynara’s last remaining energy, huh..."

Kael muttered. He rembered all that energy flowing into Vita.

"Wait, didn’t you absorb most of that energy?"

He questioned with a frown.

"I only absorbed the mories."

Vitaria shook her head.

"Huh...?"

Kael’s frown deepened.

"Reynara was a Celestial Fox, like . Her powers were of no use to . I only absorbed her mories, strengthening my knowledge. Of course, as a grown Celestial Fox, her mories were vast. I still haven’t absorbed all of it, but I have learned a lot."

Vitaria stared at her Father and,

"I can now teach you from where she left."

She smiled.

Kael, however, wasn’t happy about it.

"Vita..."

If his child had inherited Reynara’s mories, doesn’t this an she inherited her trauma as well?

Kael hated that thought.

In an instant, the image of crimson tears falling out of Vita’s eyes appeared in his mind, making him tremble in worry.

Sensing her Father’s worries, Vita just shook her head,

"I have only inherited her mories, not her personality. Her emotions or her past do not affect ."

She clarified.

"You were... crying."

Kael muttered weakly.

"That was only because it was all dumped on too quickly, but after absorbing everything, I have beco relatively calr."

"Are you sure...?"

"Yes."

Vita nodded confidently.

Then, a mischievous grin appeared on her face and,

"Not to ntion, my situation is different than Reynara. I have a father who is too needy to even think about abandoning ."

The Fox then paused for a mont as she looked into Kael’s eyes and then—

"Right?"

She questioned as she tilted her head.

And Kael... he just picked up his daughter and hugged her as tightly as he could.

"Right. You only have to worry about not leaving you alone at all."

He nodded as he closed his eyes, his racing heart calming a little. Suddenly, he felt Vitaria’s body tremble. The brave front she was showing all this while broke when he took her into his embrace, and then—

"...don’t leave ."

The Fox muttered in a low, emotional voice different from her usual playful one, and Kael tightened his hug even further.

"I won’t."

The hopeless father continued to hug her. Vitaria, in Kael’s arms, slightly shifted herself. Her face then glanced at Cirri and...

The Fox smirked.

Just like how Cirri did yesterday. (Chapter 297)

Cirri’s mouth twitched in annoyance. She knew sothing wasn’t right the mont it began. She wanted to rush and push the Fox away from her Father, but Igni stopped her.

The eldest stared at his smirking Fox sister and then his Father, whom she had wrapped around her little paws, and just sighed weakly.

He knew these sisters of his wouldn’t let his father have a peaceful ti. This was why it was better for his Father to only stay with him.

But knowing that it would make these girls even madder, the eldest decided to stay calm and wait for his chance.

More ti passed. Vitaria made full use of this opportunity to have her Father all to herself. The jealous Cirri could only glare at her younger sister. Her mind had already started coming up with plans to get her back.

Imperia, on the other hand, just sighed at her sisters’ immaturity. She walked towards Nyrri and stood on his head instead.

She would make sure the youngest isn’t affected by his sisters’ immature actions.

Suddenly, the Ant received a ssage and,

"Father."

She called out.

Kael turned towards her, and Imperia inford,

"Aelindra is coming."

"Already?"

Kael raised his eyebrow.

"She has so docunts in her hand. It seems like she is done with her report."

The Ant nodded, and Kael couldn’t help but be impressed.

"She sure is efficient."

Kael then glanced at Lavinia and laughed lightly,

"I guess she really wants to learn the ’Trueflow Magic,’ huh?"

Lavinia chuckled at those words.

Not wanting to greet a Human so early in the morning, Bonds other than Imperia walked into the Sanctuary. The Ant, too, hid inside Kael’s pocket, having no intention of coming out.

After a few minutes,

Knock Knock

Kael and Lavinia heard a knock. Kael opened the gates, and just as he was expecting, an Aelindra with dark circles below her eyes greeted him,

"Lord Kael, I hope I didn’t disturb your rest."

"N-No, you didn’t."

Kael answered, a little creeped out by the woman’s condition. The smile on her face seed scary when combined with her ssy hair and dark circles.

"Lady Lavinia."

Aelindra then greeted Lavinia, who nodded back as well. Even the Princess seed affected by the Warden of Provision’s condition, but she did not show it on her face.

"Here is the report you asked for."

Aelindra spoke, giving the report to Lavinia.

Lavinia nodded.

"I will read this and give you an instruction plan shortly."

"You can find in the Provision Hall."

Aelindra nodded.

"Shouldn’t you be sleeping?"

Lavinia raised her eyebrow.

"I cannot. It is the Harvest Ti. The Provision Hall is extrely busy right now. I will only increase my work if I am not there.

It is not an issue. I can sleep at night. Skipping a few days of sleep isn’t sothing new."

The woman smiled, creeping Kael and Lavinia out even further, and Lavinia...

"I hope you are okay..."

She just smiled lightly, sending her away.

Once gone, Lavinia quickly started reading the report the woman had compiled. Kael, too, freshened up.

It was ti to get to work.
