"What... is that?"

Back in Velmourn City, inside the Elders’ Hall where Velmourn Elders, Aurelia, Lavinia, Gruumak and Zakaar were all having a eting to discuss what tribes to recruit—

Aelindra, all of a sudden, pointed at the window with a surprised, awed look on her face.

The rest frowned, this wasn’t the ti to talk about random things, but before they could express their opinion, their bodies moved and they looked in the direction Aelindra was pointing—

Towards the window, towards the... sky.

The usual dark grey clouds that had made themselves a permanent feature in the sky had disappeared, that alone should have been surprising and a matter that should have been discussed, but right now, what had replaced the dense, cloudy sky was even more important.

The sky was white.

But it wasn’t like it usually is on clear days, it was... pure white, whiter than snow itself, and there were shades of green in so areas, green that represented purity and... life.

It was... strangely beautiful.

But the mbers of the council didn’t let the beauty distract them, they were all wary.

Was it another attack?

So of them thought and... they panicked.

Because Kael wasn’t here.

But before that panic could spread—

"This is the sixth ti and it’s different again."

Morvain comnted as she looked at the sky with a strange look on her face. The rest of the council mbers nodded.

They recalled it.

Their n had reported these ’strange’ occurrences before too, yes, even if most of Nerathis didn’t notice, in Velmourn City, where people worked in two shifts, it was impossible for them to miss sothing like this.

The Velmourns knew exactly when it all started and when it was repeated after this, especially Nyris.

This was clearly a mystical event, so she noted it down, the ti, the color, everything she felt as she stared at the sky, making sure the future generation knows about it and one day... solve this mystery.

The rest of the people stared at the sky too, Lavinia made sure not to show any reaction other than surprise, she didn’t want people here to connect this with Kael.

After about a minute, the sky returned to normal, the council talked about it for a little longer, until finally Lavinia brought them back to the matter of the other tribes and what tribes they could possibly recruit.

Aurelia nodded quickly as well, she too seed like she had no interest in talking about the sky phenonon, not when she had so many more important things to worry about.

So just like that, the discussion continued.

...

On the other side, Kael, who was currently patting the back of sleepy Eira, was now staring at his other children with... a strangely clear mind.

"How do you feel, Father?"

Igni asked.

And Kael, after a long, long ti, smiled without forcing himself to.

"I feel... good."

He answered truthfully.

He really did feel good, it was as if... a big burden was taken away from his shoulders.

Igni nodded.

"Eira will have that effect on you, her presence is quite soothing."

"I am scared."

Kael muttered as he lowered his head.

"I fear having to rely on her all the ti."

His mind, after a long while, felt... clear. He didn’t feel the burden he had been carrying, not just the Stormcallers, even the Sky Kingdom soldiers he killed, his mind seed to have forgotten it all.

He felt... calm.

Not the pretentious calm that he forced on himself, he felt... truly calm.

He could now think properly, he could now look at his children and actually think about hugging them and spending the rest of the day with them without anything constantly being in his mind.

He felt... so good that it felt like he was using a... drug.

And if there was one thing he knew about drugs, it was that... they were addictive.

And addiction was not healthy.

He did not wish to beco an addict who loses his mind if he does not have enough... supplies.

Igni understood what his father was thinking and just shook his head—

"Eira isn’t so low-tier beast, Father.

She is a Celestial Lifehart.

She doesn’t ’ease your pain’ or ’make it go away for a mont’, she is a healer, she... heals you.

Her energy teaches your brain how to deal with that stress, the calm you feel right now, it isn’t because of Eira’s energy, it’s your brain learning. And as liberating as it may feel right now, this is rely a beginning.

The more ti you spend with her, the calr and clearer you will feel.

And even if, in the future, Eira stops using her energy on you, you won’t feel burdened, your mind will still feel at ease like it is right now, it just won’t improve."

Kael blinked at those words, he stared at the little fellow sleeping on his shoulder and... he was certainly impressed.

Igni was right.

He did need Eira, more than anyone else.

So...

"Thank you, Igni."

He nodded with a light smile.

"I will always be there for you, Father."

The dragon nodded.

" too!"

Cirri, in her Sky Form, exclaid as well. Vitaria and Imperia walked closer, they didn’t say it out loud, but Kael knew what they were thinking. As for Nyrri, the now second youngest wanted to jump on his father, but his sister was sleeping on his shoulder, if he did that she would wake up and he did not want it, so—

" too!"

Nyrri exclaid as he rubbed his head on Kael’s stomach, Kael chuckled and gently patted his head.

"Should we return?"

Igni questioned as he looked around. Things had cald down, they knew the sky had returned to normal too, they had been away for quite a while as well.

It was ti to return.

But...

"Ria, what’s happening back in Heights?"

Kael asked.

"They are still in the eting, it should continue for a while."

The ant reported and hearing those words, Kael just smiled as he continued to rub Nyrri’s head and—

"Let’s stay here for a while."

He decided to spend so ti with his Bonds.

"Then let’s return to the Sanctuary! I wish to hug Father!"

Cirri demanded, Kael chuckled and then he nodded.

With that, the family walked into the Sanctuary and spent so ti together after quite a long ti.

...

About five hours later, Kael returned to Velmourn City, at this point the eting was concluded.

Today was a long day, especially for Lavinia’s spirits, they had been flying all over Heights, keeping an eye on different tribes, to gather information about the tribes.

Real information and the general idea as to what they thought of everything that was happening with Heights.

And after doing this continuously for more than ten hours—

The spirits were now exhausted.

But they had done their work, the information they gathered wasn’t extensive, it wasn’t possible, especially with the ti constraint they had.

But it did give Lavinia and others a general idea and that was enough.

So the mont Kael landed and walked into his house, where he knew Lavinia was already waiting for him—

"Kael!"

She quickly rushed towards him with a smile.

Kael smiled back.

"Where is it?"

Lavinia asked excitedly, she wanted to see the new mber of their family but—

"She is sleeping right now."

Kael answered with a gentle smile, a smile that made Lavinia frown for a mont.

Then she cald her excitent and looked at Kael again—

He looked... oddly calm.

"Kael...?"

She called out.

"Did sothing happen?"

She asked out of worry, it was similar to how Kael usually shut himself down during these monts but this ti—

"No, I am fine. More than fine, actually."

Kael answered with a smile as he gently held Lavinia’s hands.

"Kael...?"

Lavinia called out, she still seed a little taken aback.

"Yes?"

Kael answered with a teasing smile, sothing Lavinia hadn’t seen in a while.

"You are... okay?"

Lavinia blinked.

"You will understand once you et her."

Kael answered with a smile. Lavinia was still confused, but even then—

"What’s her na?"

She questioned.

"Eira."

"That is a beautiful na."

"Right? Igni is quite good at that."

"Mhm."

Lavinia nodded.

"Anyways, Ria told that everything’s decided?"

Kael asked.

"How much do you know?"

Lavinia questioned back but Kael shook his head.

"I don’t know anything, I was busy with Eira."

Lavinia nodded and then she started explaining.

"There are a total of thirteen tribes in Heights, including small and big tribes."

Kael nodded at those words, he had read that much in Velmourn records. Lavinia knew that, so she continued—

"Stonefangs and Stormcallers are two of the thirteen, their position is very clear, now it’s about the remaining ones."

Kael nodded again, this was obvious as well.

"From the spirits, we got the general idea, of course, there wasn’t much ti to analyse everything thoroughly, the only thing the spirits could see was how involved these tribes were with the Stormcallers.

We assud that from the resources these tribes had, those with ample resources that don’t match the numbers they should normally have in winter are considered close to the Stormcallers and those with low resources are considered to be potential targets.

Of course, it is a very weak filter, but rarely anything is known about most of these tribes and their habits, and with the limited amount of ti we had, this was the only thing that could be done."

"That’s alright."

Kael nodded again.

"You did the best you could, now it’s ti to move.

Success and failure depend on how we talk."

He spoke and Lavinia began explaining even further.
