"What does that have to do with you?" Gao Yuyue noticed the hostility in the girl’s tone and responded with equal sharpness.
"Heh, this is the first ti I’ve seen soone show up at Shen You’an’s place. Looks like you really are close. But, Miss, being friends with soone like Shen You’an—be careful."
Gao Yuyue let out a cold laugh. "Are you sick? Got such a strong urge to share your thoughts that you’ll catch a stranger and just say a bunch of nonsense?"
"You—! I was just trying to warn you out of kindness, and you can’t even appreciate it?"
Lin Chuchu locked eyes with the girl’s cool and piercing gaze, as if her petty thoughts had been seen right through. Feeling guilty, she quickly averted her gaze.
"Shen You’an is not for you to comnt on. But you—jealous of her to the point of madness, aren’t you?"
Gao Yuyue eyed her from head to toe, her contempt entirely unmasked.
"From head to toe, you can’t compare to even a strand of her hair."
With that, she turned around and strutted off.
Lin Chuchu was left behind, furious to the point of stomping her feet.
Shen You’an’s friends—no surprise, they’re all just as exasperating as she is.

"What kind of person is this?" Gao Yuyue muttered as she walked away.
"Trying to sow discord between and Shen You’an? They should take a good look at themselves first."

Gao Yuyue suddenly stopped in her tracks.
What kind of relationship did she have with Shen You’an anyway?

Calming herself down, Gao Yuyue rembered why she had co in the first place.
Shen You’an wasn’t at ho, so where could she be?
Oh right, she’d heard Ren Chong say that Shen You’an liked going to the city library.

On Saturday, the city library was packed, full of students wherever you looked.
Gao Yuyue made her way through the floors, and in the corner of the top-level paid study lounge, she truly found Shen You’an.

Gao Yuyue crouched down and stealthily approached, ready to give Shen You’an a "surprise."

"Shen You’an," Gao Yuyue gritted her teeth, looking like a tigress ready to pounce.
Though, to be fair, she was a very cute tigress, not intimidating at all.
"You dared to block —how awful of you."
"Because you’re too annoying." Shen You’an lowered her voice, closed her book, grabbed her backpack, and got up to leave.
Gao Yuyue followed imdiately with a stunned expression: "You actually think I’m annoying?"
"What else?"
Shen You’an made her way to the borrowing counter and took out her library card.
Gao Yuyue thought to herself—so Shen You’an was such a diligent student, spending weekends studying hard at the library.
This kind of hardworking spirit was worth learning from. She resolved to spend her weekends studying there too.
Curious about what Shen You’an was reading, she glanced at the book cover.
The title was in English, but despite her supposedly advanced vocabulary, the foreign words looked completely unfamiliar.
Her ntal CPU nearly fried trying to figure it out but still ca up blank.
After borrowing, Shen You’an pulled out a few comic books from her backpack and returned them.
Gao Yuyue stared wide-eyed at the comic books.
"You—you—you actually read comic books too?"
"Why, can’t I?"
Gao Yuyue instinctively shook her head and caught up with Shen You’an, suddenly grinning wide.
"I love comics too! My favorite is *Glass Mask*, and I even have the author-signed complete single-volu set. If you like it, I can lend it to you."
"No need."
At the library entrance, the rain was pouring down in torrents.
Shen You’an sighed. "Such unpredictable weather."
Gao Yuyue took a folding umbrella out of her bag. "Luckily, I was prepared. Here, I’ll share half the umbrella with you."
Shen You’an glanced at the sky. "It’s passing rain. It’ll stop soon—let’s wait," she said.
She walked into the nearby convenience store, bought two bottles of water, and handed one to Gao Yuyue.
They sat by the large glass window in the store, Shen You’an pulled out her English book again, completely absorbed.
Outside the window, gusty winds and heavy rain raged, while inside the store, everything was serene and quiet.
Gao Yuyue sat beside Shen You’an, quietly observing her.
Suddenly, she realized Shen You’an wasn’t as ordinary as she’d thought. On the contrary, she had a liberating, breezy charm—as free-spirited as the wind, as untethered as the clouds in the sky, as wild and unrestrained as the waves of the sea. She seed completely unbound, unrestrained—untouchable by anyone or anything.
Honestly, Gao Yuyue never truly disliked Shen You’an.
All her fussing and picking fights were just an arrogant heiress’s unwillingness to admit her admiration for soone...
For the first ti, she wanted to draw closer to another person, wanted to be their friend.
Even if that person found her annoying, blocked her number, spoke to her impatiently...
She still wanted to be friends.
Even just quietly sitting by her side, listening to the storm outside, made her feel at ease and peaceful.
Gao Yuyue rested her chin on her folded arms, staring at Shen You’an with a dazed expression.
Shen You’an wasn’t as plain-looking as people said at all—those people must be blind. She was clearly stunning, downright beautiful.
As Gao Yuyue angrily argued with herself in her head, Shen You’an closed her book and got up to leave.
"Wait for ," Gao Yuyue called out as she rushed to follow.
The rain had stopped.
Shen You’an stepped out decisively. A couple drops of muddy water splashed onto her white sneakers, but it didn’t slow her stride one bit.
Gao Yuyue stomped her foot in frustration but still clenched her teeth and followed.
In the flower beds, the greenery was brighter after being washed clean by the rain. The air was filled with the fresh, earthy scent of leaves and wet soil.
Suddenly, Gao Yuyue exclaid with excitent, pointing to the sky: "There’s a rainbow!"
Shen You’an paused slightly, lifting her gaze.
A seven-colored rainbow stretched across the washed-blue sky, radiant and glorious.
The corner of Shen You’an’s lips curved slightly, her eyes warm. "Mm, it’s beautiful."
Gao Yuyue bead with joy. "Rainbows an good luck—sothing amazing must be coming soon!"
"Rainbows form because sunlight refracts and reflects off almost spherical droplets of water in the atmosphere, dispersing light into different colors," Shen You’an matter-of-factly debunked her fantasy.
Gao Yuyue seethed with the urge to hit her.
