After pulling an all-nighter and switching to the morning shift, he had originally planned to return to his dorm to rest. But his father’s call had brought him here to help out.

Leng Yuan turned around and walked a few steps, then suddenly halted.

The woman held a child about three years old in her arms. Feeling her mother’s warmth, the child finally stopped crying and quietly lay against her, staring with sunken, large eyes.

The woman’s lips trembled violently, and she was on the verge of breaking down.

The woman held the child and cried silently.

Before her stood a tall schoolgirl in uniform, with fair skin and an aura of cold detachnt.
It wasn’t clear how long she’d been standing at the doorway.
The girl took a notepad and pen out of her backpack and lowered her head to jot down a phone number.
She handed it to the head nurse. "This is the contact number for a dical charity organization focused on helping sick children. The person in charge is listed—please pass this on to her."
