Near Chunzhou First Middle School, there’s a residential complex, which serves as apartnts for the school staff.
Xu Na had just gotten out of bed, preparing to take her dog for a walk, when there was an urgent knock at the door—"Knock, knock, knock."
Xu Na’s heart skipped a beat instinctively. She hadn’t slept all night, her mind weighed down with things, as though a sword were hanging over her head.
The abrupt knocking tightened her already frayed nerves and made her chest feel heavy and uncomfortable.
As she aged, she could no longer pull all-nighters.
The Poranian spun in circles by her feet, whining incessantly. Annoyed, Xu Na shot it a glare: "Behave yourself. Mommy’s going to answer the door."
Xu Na slipped into her slippers and went to open the door. The Poranian followed closely at her pant leg.
Standing at the doorway was a young man in a dark, impeccably pressed uniform, exuding an overpowering sense of authority.
The badge on the man’s chest glead brightly, montarily dazzling Xu Na’s eyes.
"Hello, are you Miss Xu Na?"
The young man spoke with a stern expression.
Xu Na tensed up slightly. "Yes... I’m Xu Na."
"I’m a delivery officer from the Chunzhou First Court. This is my badge."
The ID flashed briefly in front of Xu Na.
Imdiately after, he produced a docunt and asked Xu Na to sign for it.
Xu Na was completely stunned. She opened the docunt and nearly dropped it out of shock.
It was a summons from the court.
Even soone as clueless as Xu Na now realized—she was being sued.
Following that was a complaint docunt.
It detailed the plaintiff and their attorney, as well as the purpose and circumstances of the lawsuit.
Plaintiff: Shen You’an.
Plaintiff’s attorney: Helian Yi, along with the striking red stamp of Spring River Law Firm.
Xu Na’s fingers turned pale as she gripped the docunt tightly. Her teeth clenched her lower lip. "She actually dares..."
The staff mber urged her with an unchanging expression: "Please sign your na in this location."
A pen was pushed into Xu Na’s hand.
Xu Na had half a mind to throw the pen away and give the young man a piece of her mind. But when she raised her head, she saw that he was holding a cara, with a flashing red light indicating it was recording.
All of Xu Na’s anger instantly vanished into thin air. Trembling, she obediently signed her na with shaking hands.
The young man recorded the signature and took pictures before reminding Xu Na of the court date once again. Then, he left.
Xu Na stood trembling in the doorway.
A colleague ca downstairs and saw her looking gloomy. Instinctively, they asked, "Teacher Xu, what’s wrong?"
Xu Na took a deep breath. "It’s nothing."
Then turned and slamd the door shut.
At that mont, her phone on the coffee table began ringing incessantly. Xu Na walked over to pick it up.
It was a call from the school administration.
"Xu Na, I didn’t expect this matter to blow up so badly. The court is conducting an investigation at the school, involving several individuals. All of this trouble stems from you. Put all your work on hold for now. I’ll be assigning soone to take over your responsibilities. Spend these next few days at ho for so reflection and self-examination."
Before Xu Na had ti to explain, the other party swiftly hung up the phone.
Xu Na’s expression turned as dark as a pot of burnt stew.
How had things escalated to this point?
Unwilling to accept the situation, she dialed her uncle.
"For heaven’s sake, don’t call anymore! You’ve dragged into this ss—now I’m under scrutiny too! Keep your mouth shut, alright?"
Xu Na cursed at the phone after it disconnected.
The Poranian swirled around her pant leg. Perhaps it was hungry—it wouldn’t stop barking.
Xu Na broke down and shouted: "Stop barking!"
Her anger flared, and she kicked the Poranian hard.
The dog whimpered, trembling as it retreated into a corner.
"Where did it all go wrong?"
Xu Na paced around the room, anxiety written all over her face.
She had to calm down.
Pulling out her phone, she consulted a high school classmate who worked as a lawyer.
The classmate asked her to take a photo of the complaint docunt and send it over.
When the classmate saw the docunt, they were horrified: "Xu Na, you’re finished."
Xu Na’s heart sank to rock bottom, but she retorted stubbornly: "What’s the issue? It’s just a lawsuit. Let her sue . The judge would have to be blind to rule in her favor."
