Luuo Yunqi lowered her gaze and took a sip of tea, "Qi Baotan, what happened just now was a misunderstanding. From now on, let’s keep out of each other’s way."
Qi Baotan swallowed the eight-treasure duck in her mouth and said without raising her eyebrows, "If people don’t ss with , I won’t ss with them."
The implication being, don’t actively seek trouble.
She wasn’t soone easily bullied.
After everything with Cai Xiang happened, what was there left to be afraid of?
Luuo Yunqi silently put down her teacup.
The CBD center in Qingzhou was the most bustling comrcial area, with a skyline of office buildings and countless high-end malls clustered together. Among them, the busiest was Wenze City, which spanned nearly seven hundred thousand square ters and was divided into four sections—A, B, C, and D—based on its business model. It was a leisure center combining shopping and entertainnt.
To increase its popularity and attract crowds, Wenze City launched a star initiative in the past six months, inviting celebrities to promote brands.
This ti, the mall tead up with the famous sports brand Flying Leopard Company, inviting the up-and-coming boy band Stars and Moon to promote the brand. A day prior, their official website announced the event, and loyal fans began waiting at the mall.
Starting this morning, security at the mall tripled, but it was still overwheld by the swarm of fans. Though celebrities had visited before, nothing had ever been this extravagant. The security team couldn’t help but think that this boy band was truly popular. Even his little granddaughter had cried and begged him for one of Ning’s signatures. But he was only a small security guard—how could he possibly co into contact with big stars?
The boy band was heading to Flying Leopard’s flagship store located in Area A of Wenze City. Area A was the leisure zone and housed hundreds of dostic and international sports brands. Area A also had a covered walkway leading to Area B, the entertainnt zone of Wenze City, which featured Qingzhou’s largest cinema. The film crew of "Laughing in the Jianghu" was scheduled to hold a roadshow at this cinema this afternoon.
As the main cast’s business car passed Area A, Pu Yutai noticed the crowd gathered at the mall’s entrance. Even the flower beds by the roadside were packed with people squatting around.
He exclaid, "Are all these people here to see us?"
Luuo Yunqi took a deep breath and instinctively raised her chin.
Ru Caiying smiled brightly, "Did you see the support banners they’re holding?"
Pu Yutai squinted and took a closer look, softly reading aloud, "’Ningning, fly high bravely. Lemons, forever with you...’."
Qi Baotan wore a proud expression. "That’s Rong Xianning."
Pu Yutai said cheerfully, "I know Rong Xianning! He rose to fa as a young idol. I’ve watched his shows—I really like him."
Luuo Yunqi furrowed her brows, "What kind of scheduling is this mall doing? How could they let two events overlap like this?"
Rong Xianning’s current popularity was soaring, and he would attract all the attention. This left their film crew completely ignored. This was a major oversight in the mall’s planning.
Ru Caiying glanced at her. "Do you think without Rong Xianning, we’d attract more attention? Little girl, don’t be too naive."
Luuo Yunqi retorted unwillingly, "Couldn’t they reschedule?"
Suddenly, Cen Shu, who had been silent, spoke up, "The timing isn’t up to us. Stay calm and don’t overthink."
When they arrived on-site, Luuo Yunqi’s heart sank further.
Although the film had been officially announced, its main cast consisted of either washed-up actresses or completely unknown newcors. As a result, apart from the journalists covering the event as part of their job, there were only a few movie enthusiasts, loyal fans of Director Cen Shu and Ru Caiying, and a handful of lucky fans who had won tickets. The attention and atmosphere completely paled in comparison to the boy band event next door.
In the lounge, as they waited, the brand event next door started streaming online at two o’clock. Qi Baotan wore headphones as she watched the livestream on her phone.
anwhile, the mall square outside was packed with a sea of people, and Yan Lu was among them.
She eagerly held her light stick and exchanged insights with other fans. On her left was Gao Yuyue, whose face bore an expression of utter despair, and on her right was Shen You’an, who exhibited a calm deanor as if observing from the sidelines.
Yan Lu took a glowing headband she got from other fans and placed it on Gao Yuyue’s head. "When in Ro, you should wear this!"
Gao Yuyue looked disgusted. "What is this junk? Don’t ruin the hairstyle I spent two hours on."
Though she complained aloud, her hands remained obedient.
Shen You’an wore a baseball cap, so Yan Lu took the headband for herself instead and stuffed a mini light-up sign into Shen You’an’s hand.
The sign was shaped like the character "Ning." Rong Xianning’s fans were called Lemons. When the fanclub had picked Rong Xianning’s official support color, they’d originally wanted to choose his favorite color—but Rong Xianning had never publicly stated what his favorite color was. So the fanclub held a voting event among fans, and lemon yellow eventually won.
Unlike Gao Yuyue, Shen You’an didn’t resist. She shook the sign in her hand and stared at the brightly lit "Ning" character before curling her lips into a smile.
The sun was pretty strong today. Though the winter sun shone warmly, it couldn’t dispel the surrounding chill. The sign’s light was overshadowed by the sunshine, its glow appearing painfully blinding at first glance.
More and more people gathered, and the scene beca frenzied.
Gao Yuyue couldn’t bear the chaos anymore. Finally, she spoke up, "Follow ."
Yan Lu and Shen You’an exchanged glances. Yan Lu shrewdly raised her brows and whispered to Shen You’an, "I knew she couldn’t take it anymore."
Shen You’an and Yan Lu followed Gao Yuyue, squeezing through the crowd.
As Gao Yuyue walked, she made a call on her phone.
A man in a suit suddenly strode out of the mall’s entrance. The security captain keeping order outside recognized him. "President Zeng, why did you co out personally?"
The man was Zeng Qiang, the person in charge of Wenze City. He was accompanied by his secretary and admin staff, walking briskly.
Zeng Qiang ignored him. He quickened his pace upon seeing Gao Yuyue struggling to erge from the crowd and greeted her respectfully, "Miss Gao, you should’ve notified earlier. I could’ve arranged for soone to escort you. You’re far too precious—if anything were to happen to you, how would I explain it to President Ren?"
Gao Yuyue was disheveled, her two-hour hairstyle completely ruined. She waved her hand dismissively. "Don’t talk so much. Just take us sowhere to rest."
Zeng Qiang noticed the crooked glowing headband on Gao Yuyue’s head, which featured bouncing "Rong Xianning" characters thanks to its springs. His eyelid twitched involuntarily as he observed it.
He promptly escorted Gao Yuyue to the VIP lounge and glanced behind, spotting the two young won following her. They must be friends of the young miss, both of them adorned with fan rchandise.
In the elevator, Zeng Qiang tested the waters, asking, "Miss Gao, are you a fan of Rong Xianning?"
Gao Yuyue instinctively replied, "Who likes..."
But glancing over at Yan Lu and Shen You’an, she quickly changed her tune. "Well...he’s alright. My friends are fans; I’m just here for the fun."
Zeng Qiang smiled warmly. "Since that’s the case, how could I let you and your friends leave empty-handed? I’ll arrange for you and your friends to et Rong Xianning later. Whether you’d like to take photos or get autographs, I’ll make sure it happens."
Before Gao Yuyue could respond, Yan Lu couldn’t contain her excitent and asked, "Really?!"
Zeng Qiang said confidently, "It’s a small matter. Besides, since you’re Miss Gao’s friends, fulfilling this wish is the least I can do."
Helping the young miss look good in front of her friends—it should make her happy.
Seeing how thrilled Yan Lu was, Gao Yuyue didn’t object.
However, Shen You’an’s brows furrowed ever so slightly.
Yan Lu noticed Shen You’an’s subtle expression and, after so thought, said, "Actually, let’s forget about it. I’m just here for the atmosphere. If I really et him, I wouldn’t know what to say."
