Leng Yunyang finished a cup of tea and then stood up and walked in.
Leng Shan pointed at Leng Yunyang and said to Amos, who was sitting in the main seat, "Please excuse him, sir. This is my useless grandson."
The blond-haired boy looked up at Leng Yunyang.
His beautiful blue eyes were filled with a smile, carrying a hint of scrutiny, though without making others feel uncomfortable.
Still, it had a way of making people inexplicably tense.
What the hell... That kid looked much younger than him.
"Young Master Leng is truly striking and exceptional. Old Sir Leng has promising successors; congratulations."
Leng Shan thought to himself, Your use of idioms is truly impressive—one wouldn’t guess you’re a foreigner at all.
"In the future, if there’s ever an opportunity, I hope that sir could guide my worthless grandson a little. I don’t expect him to be as brilliant as you, but as long as he can manage the Leng family’s modest holdings, this old man could rest peacefully."

Said with his identity, those words felt almost like sarcasm.
Leng Yunyang gazed deeply at the seated youth occupying the center position.

"Is this your first ti visiting Hua Country, Master Amos?" Leng Yunyang suddenly asked.
Leng Shan turned his head to glare at him.
Leng Yunyang ignored Leng Shan and focused on Amos, waiting for his reply.
Amos raised an eyebrow. "No."
"Your Mandarin is better than mine, a native Hua Country citizen. Were it not for the blonde hair and exotic blue eyes, you’d look just like a quintessential Hua Country native."
Amos smiled faintly, "I happen to be quite gifted with languages—not just Mandarin, but others as well. At least a dozen languages, I believe."
His tone was so relaxed as if mastering over a dozen languages were a simple matter.
"However," Amos shifted his tone, "I greatly admire Professor Yu Yisen, which sparks my interest in Hua Country culture—that’s why my Mandarin is so fluent."
Leng Yunyang squinted slightly. "You oppose the Yu family; is it truly out of admiration for Professor Yu Yisen?"
"Why else?"
The youth’s expression revealed no hint of deception.
"I abhor evil and injustice—I can’t bear to see good people suffer while bad ones go unchecked. Surely Young Master Leng feels the sa way."
Leng Yunyang’s lips curved slightly, "Naturally."
Amos gestured to the seats across from him, "Why don’t you both sit down? No need to stand."
Leng Shan accepted a box made of red sandalwood from his assistant. "Here are the items you requested."
Amos took it and opened the lid.
A fragrance invigorating to the senses escaped, instantly refreshing the mind.
Lan Xiping took a glance—inside the box lay a ginseng root and a golden pill.
Judging by the luster and quality, both were top-tier treasures.
"I’ve included notes on the proper usage of the ginseng and Golden Core; they’re in the hidden compartnt of the box."
Amos’s eyes glimred with deeper amusent. "Thank you, Old Sir Leng."
"It’s good to hear you’re satisfied."
An aide nearby whispered softly, "Sir, the police are here."
"You should attend to that, Old Sir Leng."
Leng Shan and Leng Yunyang got up and left.
As Leng Yunyang walked forward, he suddenly turned around. His alluring eyes shimred mischievously. "Master Amos resembles soone I know."
Amos’s handso sword-like eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, adding an air of roguish charm. "Oh? Is that so?"
Leng Yunyang studied the youth’s face but found no clues. With a chuckle, he turned away and departed.
The sound of footsteps grew distant.
From behind the screen ca the faint voices of Gu Bichen and Leng Xuexi conversing.
Lan Xiping lowered his voice, "This kid is sharper than I expected. You don’t think he saw through anything, do you?"
"I’ve never underestimated him. Even if he suspects sothing, it wouldn’t go beyond simple conjecture."
When the young man spoke, the affectation found when addressing others disappeared entirely. His voice, tender and delicate, carried a clarity surpassing even that of most won.
Slim fingers brushed against his cheek. "The Disguise Skill changes the skin but not the bone; it’s rely exploiting people’s psychological blind spots. After all, who would believe that the enormously wealthy Amos is the sa person as a high school girl from Qingzhou—unless the world has gone mad."
Lan Xiping shook his head. "If I hadn’t seen it myself, I wouldn’t believe it even if I were beaten to death."
After a brief pause, Lan Xiping added, "The humiliation you dealt Yu Ruohuan today must already be the source of countless rumors. The Yu family is both vengeful and ruthless; your days to co won’t be easy."
Amos—or rather, Shen You’an—lowered her gaze to the sandalwood box containing the ginseng and Golden Core, her blue eyes swirling with strange, eerie light. "That suits just fine. Whatever ans they have, let them use them. It’s ti to settle those grudges anyway."
