i Qingdai and Yu Fuce were sent abroad by Old Madam Yu a week ago—ostensibly for their honeymoon, but in reality, to seek dical treatnt.

The infertility research institute recomnded by the old madam was located by the Wenyin River in Siland. It was i Qingdai’s first ti visiting Siland, and she was instantly captivated by the unique charm of this place.

The sky here was so blue, birds soared high with spread wings, and the river was clear, with fish freely roaming in its depths.

The city’s architecture leaned heavily toward a dieval style—retrospective and majestic, as if strolling through a dieval palace.

On the streets, blonde-haired, blue-eyed won dressed boldly and assertively, exuding confidence and flamboyance. They casually kissed their boyfriends on street corners, lost in the bliss of love, completely unconcerned about the gaze of onlookers.

Passersby, however, did not cast judgntal eyes; instead, they offered genuine and blessing-filled glances.

This was quite a cultural shock for i Qingdai, who had been raised under the doctrine of subtlety and restraint. While she found it hard to fully embrace, she couldn’t help but envy them deeply.

The people here were romantic and self-assured; the air here felt free and unrestrained.

One doesn’t need any reason to fall in love with this city.

Siland had always been recognized internationally as one of the most economically advanced cities—a dream destination for many. In i Qingdai’s imagination, it should be a place teeming with skyscrapers, luxury cars, and extravagantly dressed, fast-paced inhabitants.

Yet the Siland she saw was entirely different: majestic horses pulled flower-adorned carriages leisurely across wide roads, while the silent, enduring dieval-style buildings bore witness to centuries past. No one was glued to their phone screens; instead, people freely savored the present mont.

After leaving the research institute, i Qingdai sat for a long ti on a bench by the Wenyin River, unknowingly reduced to tears.

In the past, she loved sitting by the Wenyin River, appreciating the charm of this city—but today, her interest was completely extinguished.

She had accidentally learned a shocking truth from one of the staff at the institute.

It turned out that what Divine Doctor Leng had said was correct: Yu Fuce had long lost the ability to father children, and not even the most advanced dical thods could save him.

What was even more despairing was that the root cause of his condition was Yu Fuce’s reckless indulgence.

If he had sought treatnt years ago, there might have been a chance to reverse it. But over the years, his indulgence in alcohol and debauchery had completely drained his body, shutting him off from any hope of recovery.

She barely saw Yu Fuce a few tis a month, and those few days were only because the grand aunt had sternly ordered him to spend nights in her room. Even then, he showed little interest—how could such indulgence have sapped his body?

There was only one explanation: he had been living a life of uninhibited indulgence and drunken revelry outside.

Over the past week, she had only seen Yu Fuce on the first day; after that, he vanished completely, refusing to answer her calls.

The won of Siland were famously alluring—what else could he be doing here but chasing after them?

A dog cannot change its nature.

Thinking about all the herbal dicines she had consud over the past decade, the hormone injections she’d endured to induce ovulation, and the baby she had miscarried—she couldn’t help but feel like the biggest fool in the world.

"Hi, beautiful."

A handkerchief appeared before her eyes.

i Qingdai looked up through tear-clouded eyes.

Standing before her was an elegant gentleman, probably in his thirties, whose every gesture was mature and magnetic.

What stood out even more was his distinctly familiar appearance, different from the locals of this city.

He bore the unique features of a Chinese man: yellowish skin and black eyes.

i Qingdai stared dazedly at the man in front of her.

The man crouched down and gently wiped the tears from her face with the handkerchief.

"A woman’s tears are like pearls—they should only be shed for those who deserve them."

His gaze overflowed with compassion, and even his movents as he wiped her tears radiated an inexhaustible tenderness.

A thread of reason in i Qingdai’s mind warned her not to succumb.

Yet another voice whispered that if Yu Fuce could indulge himself in a life of debauchery and infidelity, why should she remain pure for him?

If Yu Fuce couldn’t father children, and she needed a child to secure her position in the Yu family, why couldn’t she take matters into her own hands?

The man before her possessed outstanding looks and deanor—a truly excellent candidate.

Besides, this was Siland—a place where the Yu family’s influence couldn’t reach. Here, she could act as she pleased, unlike back in Jingzhou, where opportunities like this would be nearly impossible to co by.

This was, without a doubt, a heaven-sent opportunity.

Such a collapse of reasoning happened in just an instant—swift and overwhelming.

A trace of shy vulnerability appeared on i Qingdai’s face at the right mont. Her natural beauty was striking enough, but the addition of tear-streaked cheeks and timid charm made her utterly irresistible to any man.
