"You... what do you want to do?"
The pool cue silently dragged across the floor. "Paying off debts is only natural. What do you think I want to do?"
"I already told you I’m from the Yu family. Do you have a death wish? How dare you ss with ! Don’t you think for a second I won’t...!"
The woman raised the pool cue and swung it rcilessly at Yu Fuce’s head.
"Ah...!" Yu Fuce scread, clutching his head as he crouched on the ground, trembling in fear.
The cue rely brushed his head slightly, and a mocking voice rang out from above him, "Even if your father or your brother were standing here today, a debt is a debt—it must be repaid."
Yu Fuce glared up at her hatefully. "Aren’t you afraid of reprisal from the Yu family?"
The woman acted as if she’d just heard the funniest joke ever. "This is Siland. No matter how powerful the Yu family is, do you think your influence can reach here?"
Yu Fuce bit his lip, knowing deep down that she was right. Over the past few days in Huacai City, he’d heard rumors about the formidable owner of this place, soone who controlled both legitimate and underground networks with an iron grip. Anyone who dared to cause trouble here t a miserable end. In Siland, the owner of Huacai City was practically an emperor, and the largest shareholder of Huacai City would be even more powerful.
But why would soone so fearso turn out to be the young woman standing in front of him?
Suddenly, he realized sothing. "You’re from Hua Country?"
Her features were distinctly characteristic of soone from Hua Country. From the mont he’d walked in, she’d spoken the language of Hua Country with a pure and native accent.
He’d been too nervous earlier to notice such details.
Now that he processed this, he took another long look at the woman before him. The more he observed, the stranger and more suspicious it all seed.
He wasn’t a fool. He began to suspect that she’d been targeting him on purpose, aiming at sothing tied to the Yu family. He just couldn’t yet figure out what her real motive was.
The woman raised an eyebrow, teasing, "Why don’t you guess?"
Yu Fuce gritted his teeth. "Who the hell are you? Do you really think you can afford to go against the Yu family?"
"I already told you, paying off debts is only natural."
She tossed his phone onto the ground in front of him. "Make the call."
It was the phone he’d had confiscated earlier.
Yu Fuce’s eyes shifted slyly. As a mber of the Yu family, he wasn’t entirely useless. He’d undergone military-style training as a child, though he hadn’t excelled at it. His grandmother had taken pity on him and spared him from rigorous practice. While his skills might not be enough to take on a professional bodyguard, dealing with a slender, seemingly weak young woman like her should be no problem.
He planned to subdue her, take her hostage, and force his way out. Once outside, he’d reveal his identity and seek help from the embassy. After escaping the predicant, he’d make sure she’d pay dearly for this. Later would be a ti for vengeance.
With that plan in mind, he put on a pitiful expression. "I was wrong. I swear I’ll never gamble again. I’ll call my brother right now..."
He bent down to pick up the phone, pretending to dial while secretly calculating the perfect mont to strike.
In his attempts to deceive, he completely missed the icy mockery glinting in the woman’s eyes.
Suddenly, Yu Fuce hurled the phone toward the woman and lunged at her. He was confident—his tall, strong build against her frail, slim figure guaranteed an easy victory.
He was already basking in smug satisfaction, convinced that once he subdued her, he’d teach her a lesson she wouldn’t forget. And considering how beautiful she was... well...
"Ah...!"
In the blink of an eye, before he could react, both his arms were twisted behind his back, and he was pinned face-down on the floor.
The sole of her shoe pressed against the side of his face.
He gritted his teeth. "Just kill already."
He was betting on the fact that she wouldn’t actually dare to kill him.
The woman smiled gently. Her slender fingers twirled, and suddenly a small, sharp dagger appeared in her hand.
Without giving Yu Fuce any ti to respond, the dagger swiftly drove into his left hand, its blade piercing through his palm and embedding itself into the carpet beneath.
The woman kept smiling. Yet behind her glasses, her deep, dark eyes were like an unfathomable abyss, chilling and filled with nace.
"Ah...!" Yu Fuce let out a bloodcurdling scream, veins bulging on his forehead from the sheer pain.
The woman pressed the dagger down further, sending sharper waves of agony that almost made Yu Fuce lose consciousness.
"Let say this one last ti: if you owe a debt, you pay it."
At that mont, Yu Fuce finally believed she was the major shareholder of Huacai City. He had never seen such a ruthless woman before in his life.
This ti, he was truly terrified. He had no doubt that this woman would slit his throat without hesitation. Panicking, he stamred, "I’ll call! I’ll call right now!"
With his left hand pinned to the floor, unable to move an inch, he shakily reached out with his unhard right hand to grab the phone.
Unlocking it, he found his older brother’s number in the contact list and dialed.
"Speakerphone," she commanded.
Obediently, Yu Fuce turned on the speakerphone.
